I live for the weekend & tried to rest & reset yesterday as this week is going to be a hectic one with rehearsals & performances next Saturday. So glad I walked up the hill to the Little Free Library as look what I scored! I‘ve wanted Red since it first came out! The day started out perfectly with a pot of tea in bed & ended with a few red wines. In between there was some glorious beach time. I even got some lunches cooked for school this week.
pickFirst 📕 finished for ‘25 from a few wks back. I ❤️ 📚 about the 🖼️ world & I so needed a happy ending with all the crap going on in my life & the 🌍 lately. I can‘t believe Bri gave me 1 after reading her non fiction. The weather has turned early this yr & autumn is already upon us. I‘ve been wearing a cardigan to work this wk & reminiscing about the 🏝️ days. Hopefully the change is just 1 of those tricks the weather man sometimes plays on us.
Book swap presents for the little people in my life from earlier this month when I went to visit them on holiday on the central coast.

so-soThis one is a challenge. Picture taken last Sunday when I gate crashed my sister‘s family holiday yet again. The place in the pic is gorgeous and so great for families. So close to the beach and has different temperature swimming pools. The eccentric man who owns it lets my nephews and niece feed his fish at 4 in the afternoon. They love it. The apartment has plenty of space and there are nice walking tracks. It‘s the Star of the Sea at Terrigal.

Before op shopping today I had a peak in the Little Free Library and scored these. 36 degrees in Dubbo today and I loved every bit of it. I‘m staying with my nan at the moment. This is one of her spare rooms. She took her car to be serviced so this is how I filled in time. We spent the morning running errands as she is hard of hearing and less mobile so needs more help nowadays. We had a delicious pub lunch. She was buggered at the end of the day.

pickOp shop scores from a wk ago at Salvos Charlestown. Sometimes I‘m lucky enough to find clothes that fit me in the kids section which means they are cheaper eg. The striped 👗. I bought it to wear to work as it‘s cotton & we don‘t have air conditioning in many rooms at 🏫. It was only $4 & is size 16 kids. I did a demi character in my last 🩰 exam as a kid to 🌅 Boulevard 🎶 so keen to 🎧 to that again after so long! The socks are for my nephew 🎣
Yesterday‘s op shop purchases after ballet. Grand total 🟰 $17. It was another fabulous day at my ballet school‘s Summer Intensive. Pilates to warm up then a repertoire class learning the Aurora wedding variation from Sleeping Beauty followed by a mindfulness session. Then home for a wine and stretch. I‘m pretty sore.

pickToday‘s after ballet op shop purchases for the grand total of $23. It‘s Summer Intensive week so I had 2 hours with an ex Australian Ballet and cirque de Soleil dancer and then an informative hour long lecture from a dietitian. She gave me some great tips. I was instantly hooked when I started to read the tagged book on the beach before my first pole dancing class in quite a few years! I love holidays and being able to do what I want when I want.
pickI virtually squealed when I saw this in the Dubbo book swap over my Xmas holiday there. It is every bit as wonderful as I imagined. Love this stunning creature‘s music and it turns out her poetry too. Think it will be a keeper. That‘s something I don‘t say often!

Was 🏡 for the hols but leaving 2morrow. Went 2 Salvos with mum 2day. She found me the linen tea towel (a steal at $2) of my fav country & godson & I scored some $1 📚! Lots of dvds to watch over the school holidays plus some crafty projects. The 👖 are Uniqlo for $6 & perfect 4 work. They‘ve functional pockets! There r some travel sized toiletries 4 my waterskiing trip in a wk or so & 1 can never have enough tea strainers. Total🟰 $34.40.

After my skin check yesterday (I have a script for some chemo cream for my nose to start next winter) but before my next appointment with the building manager in my other apartment block to change the battery in the smoke detector as I can‘t reach it) and my 🩰 performances last night, I managed to fit in a trip to Kmart where I got my babies some cheap outfits and an op shop. I think the earrings will work for one of my Xmas dos. Grand total $15.
pickMet 1 of my idols tonight at my library. The gentle, talented, all round good human above. I saw her on Gardening Oz once & have been collecting her 📚 since. If you aren‘t familiar with her work you have to see it to believe it. Tickets to her exhibition & talk were free & afterwards there was 🍾 & nibbles to finish a gorgeous week night off. No school tomorrow as I‘ve a couple of appointments & performing 🩰 at night. No rest for the wicked.

so-soYesterday was a massive day that ended with a tequila courtesy of Stew & a dunk at my ocean 🛀 out front for the 1st time this spring. It‘s the small things. This was last month‘s #authorofthemonth that I picked to read. I can‘t say, a 3rd of the way through, that I‘d read 1 of hers again. A surprising plot twist has just happened so I‘ll persevere like I always do. The 💦 was 🥶 but refreshing after my arvo walk & housework that morning.
Last Saturday‘s Little Free Library scores on my way to ballet. One of the beginner ballerina‘s Nans was giving away her handmade blankets. Yes please!

pickMy favourite of Kate‘s books yet. Only my second actually. She is an Australian author. This was my school holiday read I forgot to post. I was at my sister‘s place 50 km from the nearest town, enjoying this beautiful book and some quiet time then the niece got in with me and everyone out in the garden came to the window to chat #noonecaresinthecountry Last time I visited I was sick with Influenza A so it was much nicer this time. Not freezing.

It was 😢 however as 3 truckloads of craft supplies had arrived at the Salvos as an elderly woman had been put into a nursing 🏠. The papers are acid free & 4 my scrapbooking fetish. I‘ve been into 🪡 since I was a teen. I never have enough time for all the things I want to do. Just like the poor, old lady. I also scored a skirt for ballet and some new 🩰 for $10

The lady behind the counter warned me that they are getting rid of their loyalty cards. The 5th purchase over $10 gets 50% off clothing up to 10 items. Not for items that cost over $30 though. Guess who is going shopping at Salvos after ballet on Saturday. Like I need an excuse!
A successful op shop from the 🏫 hols while my dad ran errands for my nan. The Dior scarf was $3 but the lady behind the counter thought that was too much so knocked it down to $1! A bargain as it‘s hand stiched & rolled towards the front so authentic, I think? The patchwork vest appears to be handmade. The stationery is for #LitsyLove. I realised after purchasing the 👚 that it‘s missing a button but that is an easy fix. The eyelashes are for 🩰
Friday arvo I got a lift most of the way home with a colleague who was headed to meet friends at a pub. I got myself a vegan fairy bread 🍩 from dougheads which was delicious but $7 then went to the op shop. Not only did the vintage skirt fit it was also on sale! $15 down to $7. I love me a patchwork print. I‘ve read the kitchen magazine already. Grand total 🟰 $12. Relaxation level attained priceless. I even made it home in time for pilates.
pickWhat a morning it‘s been. Had a run in with a 🥜 job druggy. She was trying to start something by saying I was harassing her on the 🚊 when in fact it was the other way around. She even took a pic of me. She was following me every time I moved but thankfully I lost her before the 2 LFLs I like to raid weekly. The tagged 📕 has some gorgeous pictures and I ❤️ the cover of the top 1. The English 1 I will investigate to see if it‘s any good for 🏫.
