This was a quick read with good pacing. I started with the audiobook and switched to print to finish faster. I hadn‘t read this author before but I will definitely read more by her. It reminded me of a not as dark Strange Sally Diamond.

This was fun. It‘s clear early on pretty much how this is going to go down (if you read a lot of thrillers) but Hepworth did a great job with the characters- particularly with Fern‘s sensory processing issues. &it was really riveting at the end.
Certainly not a page turner for me. Too predictable. Almost gave up but kept thinking I might have missed something. I hadn‘t and it took me ages to finish normally I would have given up. So perhaps that is a plus.? The fact that I kept reading. 🤷🏻♂️.
I read 8 books this month, all from my Netgalley shelf. The tagged book was my favourite. Listened to it on audio in a day - just couldn‘t stop!
I don't know why people watch TV when books like this exist!🤯
Holy popsicle sticks, this was excellent. I needed a bit of a palate cleanser and am so glad I picked this up! Very much appreciate her portrayal of the neurodivergent main character - in my humble opinion (and as the mom of an autistic child), she wrote Fern quite well.
I was so into the tagged book that at the 90% mark, I gave my husband a whole rundown of the plot to that point. He then told me he'd become invested, so we listened to the end together after baby was in bed lol Can't wait to start my next Hepworth!
I can't with how good this is! It's so close to being over and while I ABSOLUTELY MUST KNOW how it ends, I'm also so upset that my time with these characters is almost up!
It's been 3 months since Owen left.
#FirstLineFridays Not the most exciting opener, but I'm really enjoying this quirky suspense
Can't recall how I stumbled across this one but it has strong Eleanor Oliphant vibes and I'm completely engaged!
Book #68
4.5/5
This is a really unique read. It's part neurodivergent love story, part psychological thriller. It is told mostly from the POV of neurodivergent Fern, and alternately, in part, through the journal of her neurotypical twin sister, Rose. I found Fern endearing.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I think this book‘s strength is in the characters, who I loved! (Well… some of them!) Some parts were predictable, but it was still enjoyable to see how everything played out. It was more of a dysfunctional family drama with just enough darkness to tip it over into the thriller category. 🎧
I‘m working a half day today and the rest of my weekend is reading 😍😍
What a mind warp. First of all, this is a great depiction of sensory processing and I love that. Second, a true depiction of how those that are not deemed neurotypical get manipulated and made to feel not good enough. Disgusting. Great character development; has you thinking people are evil, that aren‘t. Just whoa. First Sally book, not my last.
WOW. What a twist at the end. This was an easy, captivating read. I truly didn‘t flip my image about rose until 85% in, the MOM OVERDOSING really took me. I knew it didn‘t make sense!! Fern was a PERFECT character and the way she was written was beautiful, same with Rocco/Wally
Read this one on my kindle in just a couple of days. I‘m loving Sally Hepworth‘s writing! This is the second book of hers I‘ve read recently and it‘s another 5⭐️ read for me. I loved how she did both of these characters and again I feel like her storytelling is so true to life. She has a knack for capturing small details and putting them on the page to build her stories.
A story about the bond between sisters, well maybe.I love the depth of Fern‘s character and SH did a fantastic job keeping it real, relevant, and entertaining.Throw in a man who admits having his own anxiety (gasp!)and who understands her without patronizing or making her feel guilty for who she is and you have a damn good love story. Not the thriller I was expecting, better.I think a certain someone is bipolar in addition to borderline.Book#65in2022
A rotating POV between Fern, a woman with a sensory processing disorder, & her sister Rose who often cares for her. This one flipped my expectations, left me anxious with worry for the characters, and didn't disappoint. To avoid spoilers I'll just say I was rooting for certain characters with all my heart. The ending wasn't unpredictable, but it was still a fun ride! It reminded me a bit of Elinor Oliphant but with a bit more of a thriller twist.
I absolutely loved this book. It was fast-paced and while it was ultimately a mystery with a lot of dark happenings, the humor allowed the book to flow and made it more accessible. My only complaint was that it was predictable at times, and I feel like the very last chapter was unnecessary.
This was my third book by Sally Hepworth and I am officially a fan.

I have spent much of the day reading and managed to blow through this one. Solid story, a little predictable but the lovely main character with sensory issues made me want to keep reading and cheering her on. And with a librarian and a quirky dude, of course I was a fan. #BookspinBingo #mystery @TheAromaofBooks #Bookspin
An excellent read! I was expecting a thriller but I'd say it was more like a family drama with a twist. I loved Fern. Reading her perspective on situations made me laugh out loud quite a few times. Her observations were on point about the things people do and say and expect of each other. I was rooting for her and Wally the whole time.
Great book! Almost bailed a couple chapters in, but it was a sweet neuro-divergent romance with dark mystery & betrayal.
I enjoyed this book very much. I figured out the ending (or the idea of it) very early in the book. I‘m a therapist and love reading books with characters that aren‘t neurotypical. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved Fern's character and seeing representation of Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), a diagnosis not often seen in books, or it gets absorbed into ASD. The story was an emotional rollercoaster but ultimately one about learning who we can trust in our lives as sometimes those we think are protecting us are self-serving, and it takes the perspective of outsiders to tune us in. (This morning's reading buddy pictured)
One advantage to ebooks, I can read one handed. (Also, I'm really enjoying this book so far.)
Hepworth does it again! Dark, quirky, exciting and addictive - this book is a celebration of relationships, especially that of sisterhood in all its glory. The story progresses in multiple PoVs and part of it might seem predictable but then again there's a secret twist thrown at the reader with everything coming together at the end.
The booklover in me particularly loved chapters about Fern's life at the library 😇😇.
On to the next random book !
The Good Sister was a good read. I could see why some people didn‘t like it. It had some moments that were predictable but you still had to keep reading. I enjoyed the build and wondering even knowing what could happen if it would happen. Then you get to the end and it all comes together.
4.8/5 🌟
Funny, addictive & brilliant - from start to finish! Such an enjoyable book. Highly recommended!
I did it! First time I‘ve read 70 books in a year!!! I liked this one a lot. I kind of knew what was going to happen but wow this chick is nuts.
Definitely sinister, but the twist became a little too glaringly obvious. A quick page-turner! 3.5 ⭐️
There‘s almost always an evil twin, right? This book has some major evil twins vibes all throughout.
Rose keeps a journal of all her memories from childhood, while Fern works at a library and avoids any sensory overload situations. The two are twins and more often than not, you will find them together.
A story that shows the struggles of sisterhood and family, love and pain, with some great humor thrown in.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
She‘s an autobuy author for me. Was it as good as THE MOTHER-IN-LAW? No. But it was still a darn good read, and set in a library, nonetheless. Can‘t wait to discuss at my first IRL book club meeting tomorrow.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
New read this week! But I have to finish it for #bookclub on Saturday. Let‘s get her read!

The library is for everyone, but some people need it more than others.
Excellent, twisty plot with just the right amount of psychological tension. The story of twin sisters, Fern & Rose, with a secret from the past. Fern has sensory issues which make her extremely literal, somewhat quirky, and very endearing. Rose‘s side of the story is told through journal entries.
This one was very unsettling but still good. A solid 6/10 thriller. Unexpected ending
One of the more twisted books I‘ve read recently. I wasn‘t into it to begin with but it really grabbed me near the middle. Solid 6.8/10 pick if you‘re looking for something unsettling and mysterious. Also improved my understanding of sensory processing issues as a side bonus.
I absolutely fell in love with the main character Fern. Also Wally was an amazing character. This book didn't feel like a book, it felt like I was there. You could definitely see what was going on way before the reveal. But I think you were suppose to. I got so furious reading this book because it was so plain to see but the characters couldn't. And a book that can make you feel furious, is a great book. 5/5 stars. Loved!
I thought this book was great! I read it in a day. A good, easy thriller.
⭐️:4.5/5
This was better than I was anticipating! I thought it was such a good idea to have the main protagonist be on the spectrum and have issues with understanding someone‘s true intentions and sometimes her own actions. Is she a danger to herself or others? Or are those around her the real danger? A really good, twisty story! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
