Having recently received a breast cancer diagnosis I was fearful of reading Sophie Kinsella‘s autobiographical novella of her brain cancer journey. This beautifully written story of Eve, a writer diagnosed with glioblastoma, is heartbreaking but also honest, hopeful and uplifting. Through the fear of her diagnosis and difficult rehabilitation, Eve faces her circumstances with resilience, positivity and a wonderful sense of humour. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
When I‘m not reading, I make padded book sleeves and bookmarks for my Etsy shop. I‘m having a huge Christmas in July Sale on Etsy and a weekly giveaway on Instagram (@mapleleafstitching). Come check it out!

A murder-mystery told through email correspondence? Yes please! 💕 Picked this up at the cutest little bookshop @books_on_the_rise in Richmond, UK 📚#theappeal
Starting this one tonight and I already love it because there‘s a map! 💕 #thelastmurderattheendoftheworld #currentread
Starting with the tagged book which is also a new to me author. #readyourkindle #readyourebooks @CBee
Alright here we go! April #bookspin #doublespin #readingmykindle #readyourebooks is ready to go! 📚 @TheAromaofBooks @CBee
It seems I‘m the exception but this book just didn‘t do it for me. Although I must say that the last few chapters were quite entertaining. February #bookspin #doublebookspin are done! @TheAromaofBooks
My February #bookspin #doublespin is complete. Better late than never! Really enjoyed this fast paced, twisty thriller. @TheAromaofBooks
Tagged along with hubby on a business trip to Toronto. After a bit of retail therapy I‘m now enjoying a little down time with the tagged book. I wouldn‘t mind sailing off to a beautiful tropical island. ☀️🏝️#readyourkindle #readyourebooks
I pre-ordered ‘Every Time I Go On Vacation Someone Dies‘, the newest book from author @cemckenzie1 and she sent me this amazing surprise package! Check her out on Instagram.
I read 8 books this month, all from my Netgalley shelf. The tagged book was my favourite. Listened to it on audio in a day - just couldn‘t stop!
My January #doublespin was a DNF. Might revisit it in the future when I‘m in a different mindset. Now off to finally make my February #bookspin list.
My January #bookspin was Sally Hepworth‘s latest novel due to be published in April 2024. I am a huge fan of hers but this one is just a meh for me. Happy to have it off my never ending NetGalley ARC list. @TheAromaofBooks
My #bookspin and #doublespin reads for January are set. I‘m really looking forward to both of these books! 💕 @TheAromaofBooks
2023 was a very difficult year for me personally so I‘m pretty happy with the amount of books read. Hoping to read at least 1-2 books a week in 2024, read more of the books I own and work on decreasing the number of NetGalley ARCs I have.
Happy New Year!🎉 Here‘s my January #bookspin and #doublespin board. I‘m interested to see what my first read of 2024 will be! @TheAromaofBooks
I didn‘t read either of my #bookspin or #doublespin books for May so I‘m reposting the same selections for June. ☺️
I just finished my February #bookspin title, better late then never! ☺️
Slow to start, I almost gave up less than halfway through. But since I am reluctant to DNF any book I pushed through and was pleasantly surprised by a wonderfully poignant second half. The writing is lovely and the descriptions of Cornwall itself are so vivid and add to the atmospheric nature of the book. I especially enjoyed reading about young Olivia during WWII. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
When her daughter dies, Celine, a successful life coach throws her self into her work unable to deal with her grief. Her family stages an intervention that takes an unexpected turn and catapults Celine into an alternate reality of 'what if'. I'm a sucker for a pretty cover and this one is so gorgeous that I couldn't resist. A light, easy breezy read that lacked the tug at the heartstring moments I was expecting. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #bookspin
School pick up reading today. Hoping to finish this one in time for the March #bookspin
Lulu is a successful psychotherapist, recently married to Nick. But Nick has a troubled past and as Lulu offers to help him face his childhood trauma, she uncovers a disturbing and frightening side to the man she loves. Fast paced thriller with a somewhat predictable story line. I was disappointed that the ending did not have the 'shocking twist' promised on the cover. Nonetheless entertaining and perfect as a beachy/one sitting read. #doublespin
My #bookspin and #doublebookspin books are set for March. Can‘t wait to get started on both of these.
My husband and I had a little getaway in Paris over the weekend. I‘ve been wanting to visit the Shakespeare and Company bookstore forever and now I have! 💕 Bucket list ✅
This story of two suburban stay at home mothers had me hooked from the first few lines! It was a relatively short and fast paced page turner with unreliable characters and numerous twists and turns that had me constantly second guessing myself. A thoroughly enjoyable read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing a digital copy in return for an honest, unbiased review.
My February #bookspin #doublespin selections are set. As with the past month, I‘m continuing to work my way through my massive NetGalley list.
Who would say no to creepy killer spiders, global Except for a variety of descriptions of how the creepy spiders are attacking and random relationship tidbits of the characters, nothing else happens. This book is part of a trilogy so the author naturally leaves something for the other books in the series, but for goodness sake you need to give the reader some story/character development. Disappointing. ⭐️⭐️ #doublespin
This slow burn thriller mystery, set in a gothic Italian villa with a mysterious true crime past was just what I needed to get me out of the reading slump that has plagued me over the last year. I enjoyed the dual timeline storytelling and the narration was excellent. This is the perfect beachy, vacation read. #bookspin
One Italian Summer was a light, breezy read perfect for a lazy day and easily finished in one sitting. I enjoyed living vicariously through Katy while she was exploring beautiful Positano and now want to visit the Amalfi coast even more than before! #netgalley
