I'm back and still rambling about books 😵😵😵
Guys, I am exhausted.
Anyone else been staring into space for about a week? No? Just me 🥲
Hope you're all doing OK.

I'm a day late for #5JoysFriday, but it's not the first time and it won't be the last 😅
1. One of my oldest friends had her for reading. It was a short story, but I'm sure there's more to come.
2. Spending time with @VaniBarelyReads 💖
3. Receiving the new book by Anna Rosenwasser 💖
4. While also receiving this pin I totally forgot I ordered 🙈
5. Friday afternoon with fellow queers in the Rainbow House 🏳️🌈
@DebinHawaii
My #weirdwords selection is courtesy of the Nov election & the ensuing economic decisions. I came across my selection on History Today:
For a phrase to express unfortunate circumstances that seem impossible to overcome (‘we‘re fucked‘), the Historical Thesaurus of English tells us that they would have proclaimed themselves to be ‘in hot water‘ (first use 1537), ‘in a pickle‘ (1562), ‘in straits‘ (1565) or, in the most extreme predicament, (CONT)
1. It‘s Friday!
2. Picking up my holds from the library.
3. Tacos for dinner.
4. My husband.
5. Not having anything to do this weekend so I can read.
#5JoysFriday @DebinHawaii
1. Frankie
2. @KLyn1 helped put together bookshelves for me
3. Wisconsin got it right this week
4. Cory Booker
5. Coffee
Thanks @DebinHawaii @Kshakal #5joysFriday
#5JoysFriday 😊 1)My back doing better. When I am standing up or walking around there is maddening itching which I guess means it‘s healing. 2) because of that I am laying down a and it hurts but the sensation is not as bad as the maddening itching. 3)if my mom has Bluetooth on she can use her phone through her hearing aids which I think is awesome. 4)My mom‘s home health care worker now has a car which means no more walking to the grocery store
Welcome to Poppy Land! A visual representation of Joy! Which includes poppy tiaras

1. Cory Booker‘s incredible 25 hours & 5 minute speech
2. Susan Crawford‘s win in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election (suck it, Elon!)
3. Watching the speaker of the house Mike Johnson‘s temper tantrum after the House proxy vote failed
4. Seeing all the big, beautiful memes come out following the Insane Cheeto‘s tariffs announcement
5. The joy of feeling optimism regarding politics for the first time since Nov. 6th 💙💙
#5JoysFriday @DebinHawaii
1) Not My Cat has returned for the summer
2) lunch under my neighbor‘s apple tree
3) Virginia bluebells blooming on a nature walk
4) bouquets from the backyard cheering up my reading space
5) planting seeds
Bonus quote: “I‘m not going to allow my inability to do everything undermine my ability to do something.”

Repost for @Librarybelle
This is very low key—no tag list, so feel free to participate how often you would like. I am reading one nonfiction a month that looks beyond the history found in schools.
If you would like to participate, post your book and thoughts each month, using #RealHistory and/or #HonestHistory . I‘ll make a bibliography for those interested.

This is apparently my time period for movie watching.
Three faves: Babe, A Serious Man, Fargo (and In the Bedroom and Sixth Sense because I can't stop with just 3)
Thanks for the tag, @dabbe !

Thank you to everyone that gave their feedback on #QueerBC It's been really useful reading it all
I'm going to include more information about the authors and more reminders of the monthly authors. It's easy to lose track when everything is a month in advance.
There were several requests for an end of month discussion or check in post. How you enjoyed the author etc.
⬇️
Litsy is part of my morning routine with my coffee. This community always helps my day start off with a smile. My towering TBR is proof of how powerful your book reviews are. So many ways to participate and all open, inclusive, and kind.
Congrats on your milestone @CSeydel ! So glad you are here.
