When one of the avocado trees we grew from a pit died, I bought a salvia to plant in its place. I can see it from my regular reading and tea-drinking spot, and I love watching the hummingbirds and bees and hoverflies visit. It gives me the sense that I'm collaborating with Nature. (No hummingbirds in this photo, but I know they're out there.) @Eggs #MajicMonday

Received my #nlhs #naughtylistholidayswap! I opened the box not knowing it was the swap, but once I figured it out, I didn't open any of the contents and I set it aside for opening day. @BarkingMadRead

I'm waiting on one more item I ordered to arrive and then I'll be packing up and shipping my swap. Hopefully that will go out Tuesday, but I'll update when it's on its way.

Fully embracing the gift of books this year for my family 🥰 I found something for everyone!! I‘m so excited for my grandmother‘s gift though (bottom right), I found affordable and gently used large print copies of some books I know she hasn‘t read yet 😍 And my Aunt told me she wants to get into reading again so I‘m setting her up with a mini book haul (top right). Woman goes to close the sale of an historic inn & gets snowed in (of course) & finds out it's haunted by a bad-tempered 19th century ghost every Christmas. I rather enjoyed it.

My #AuldLangSpine list from @Jerdencon contains some great reads! I also enjoyed First Lie Wins, but I have not read the others on the list. I own a few, so they will be easy to access. I think, though, I‘m going to start with Sandwich; I‘ve wanted to read that, had it out from the library, and then I ran out of time to read it. Great list!

Just curious... what reading challenges are y'all doing next year,? I'm still working on the 50 states, 50 horror books (50 percent complete); the past couple of years I have been slightly intrigued by the 52 book club challenge and I've knocked off a few new favorites I might not have otherwise... but I'm thinking '26 will be challenge/prompt free.As a mood reader, it's just so hard to commit!

My Uncle: John Lassiter. He died in an Austin hospital in 1992. I know we would be good friends if he were alive today.

AIDS is not gone but those we love aren‘t either. They live on in us and the ongoing fight in the face of hate. We hold them in our hearts always.

I thought I saw an Instagram post by @jackbenedwards about him getting a Kindle and promoting Amazon. All the comments reflect disappointment of such sellout 😅and then the post disappeared?!!!!
