Thanks for the tag Sherri! I think my future self will be proud I took the job I did after being affected by a very unexpected and distressing mass layoff from my previous company. My current role is challenging, in a completely different industry, and has a demanding learning curve, but I‘m making great progress and honestly it‘s a fantastic opportunity! I‘m glad I didn‘t let fear talk me out of it.

Two main things that feel related to me but might not seem so from outside: I'm facing my fears of putting myself out there creatively, through acting, writing, and musical performance, and I've leaned into vulnerability in relationships by recommitting to connection through respectful disagreement. I don't always hit the mark on either of these, but future me will, I think, be proud of my earnest attempts.

The Forgotten Dead was my favourite in October. Ship of Magic just won out, I love both but SoM has a lot of nostalgia

I adore reading the glut of retellings of myth, legends, fairytale, and folklore.
Would anyone be interested in joining a new reading group to do this together? I've called it #StorySpins for now.
I'm still planning out a way to do it. However, it will definitely be a relaxed challenge around a monthly theme. Short stories would count, too.

My #HauntedShelf points wrap-up! Due to foreseen and unforeseen circumstances lol I didn‘t get as much reading done in the second half of the month, hence my points went down from the first half. First half: 1,267. Second half: 897. Total: 2,164. Thank you @PuddleJumper for hosting and @BookwormAHN for leading #BlackCatCrew! This made my October so much fun!

It‘s Samoan Chicken (Moa Fa‘Asaina) with Coconut Rice.
It was pretty tasty. The sauce should have been thicker, but I had trouble thickening with the recipe I used. So much liquid 🤣

I felt like I didn't read much at all in October, but I think that's just relative to how much I *wanted* to read. Thank goodness for well-narrated audiobooks or I would have had a very fiction-dry spooky month, indeed!
I‘m too tired to make a pretty Canva graphic for November‘s #BookSpinBingo list, so a Note on my phone and prettied up with PicCollage will have to do!
This year went downhill fast, and my reading has taken a significant hit the last couple of months. #FinishWhatYouStarted will hopefully be a good push to read the 30+ books I‘ve started this year but have failed to finish, and I really want to get in some nonfiction for Nonfiction November.
