I could relate to Iris and some of her feelings made me cry. Roman was cute and I felt for him too - I always hate when someone is trying to tell you how you should live your life.
I loved the beginning, it was intriguing. But overall I think there could have been more worldbuilding. There were some super cool things and I would have loved to get more of them. There were some parts in the middle of the book that dragged a bit.
#serieslove2024
Characters were a bit flat and it was hard to relate to them. I also think that made some parts a bit dry.
This was pretty slow and eventless. Some parts felt like lists of things that was happening more than an enthralling scenes. Some parts were really fun!
I loved the message of the book and the ending was good.
There weren't many characters and that left the amount of suspects very low. Characters could have been more fleshed out - then it would have been more surprising to get to know about things someone had done or was doing. Like this you weren't attached to them and revelations didn't feel that shocking.
I loved the atmosphere! I always love thrillers with isolated setting and this wasn't an exception. And the hotel was super creepy xD
“Your grief will never fully fade; it will always be with you—a shadow you carry in your soul—but it will become fainter as your life becomes brighter. You will learn to live outside of it again, as impossible as that may sound. Others who share your pain will also help you heal. Because you are not alone. Not in your fear or your grief or your hopes or your dreams. You are not alone.”
“It takes courage to let down your armor, to welcome people to see you as you are.”
I still like characters and I think they're the best part in the series. But somehow I was hoping to see more interaction between them.
This felt a bit dry, this was again a cozy mystery so I wasn't expecting to have thrilling scenes. But I think I was hoping to get more of the characters.

Harry is likable & relatable character. He went through pretty tough things in this book and I felt for him. I liked secondary characters too.
This wasn't really fast-pacing but interesting enough. The past storyline was first a bit confusing before I understood how it was connected to the present storyline.
I loved humor in this book, it was a bit dry.

This shows what this time of year means to me
#SeasonalSpiritShare
Sydney was a likable character and I also liked her friends. The last part of the book was thrilling and I was scared for her - I have never imagined how thrilling a search for a scrunchie can be xD
I loved how this book kept me guessing. And how I didn't see the last big twist coming 😄 This was really intriguing read!

I am so used to having great characters by this author and I was disappointed. I felt for Charlie but he didn't feel dangerous like you would expect in this situation. Secondary characters were pretty flat. I wasn't worried for them.
I love hostage stories - they are usually so thrilling. Not this one. People were just telling stories and babbling, I was super disappointed.
I waited all the time that something would happen. And there didn't.
Characters felt alive and they were relatable. I loved them!
I loved the historical feeling, all descriptions were vivid. There was a secret that I hoped to get revealed.
The story was told from different POVs and you had to read through the same years. That felt sometimes a bit repetitive. But on the other hand it was sometimes nice to live through some specific scene from different POV.
The ending was crazy!!
#serieslove2024
Characters were a bit flat, it was hard to relate to them. They weren't annoying but just a bit tasteless. Secondary characters were likable.
I adored the setting & atmosphere - this felt magical! The game wasn't really thrilling and romance was meh.
I had fun and I enjoyed reading, my three stars are strong ones.

“Some people standby you in your darkest hour while others walk away; only a select few march towards you and become even closer friends.”
Characters were a bit too flawless when it comes to looks. But it was like watching a soap opera and I found it easy to be entertained by the book. There were several characters who were plotting something and I wanted to see what they were up to. Unfortunately there are still many questions without answers after finishing.
This was mysterious, even though I think the story could have been more so. I had fun time with this.

I am reading these this weekend

Characters are likable and realistic, and I like them more and more after every book.
I am not a big fun of this kind of crimes: deaths that have happened during the war. They doesn't feel intriguing enough, somehow. That made this book worse than the first books in the series, this was boring. And then there was a side story that had nothing to do with the main plot and felt super unnecessary.
I still love the setting!
#serieslove2024
Winnie is just so uninteresting MC and that might have made this hard to read. Winnie was so flat, she was just her holes.
This maybe had more plot than the other books but I am not sure how skillful the author is to write. The story didn't feel intriguing enough to keep me interested.
#serieslove2024
The thing I love in this series is interesting characters. Mysteries aren't that exciting and things get revealed pretty slowly. But I enjoy these books because they are cozy so they are the right choice if I want to read something comfortable. I love to follow characters' lives, for example now I was curious to see if someone starts a relationship with someone or not.

Day 31: I read 45 minutes
Pheww. This has not been an easy month for me. I am lucky to have this community with events like #spookoween
It helped when I could interact with people. I am wishing the better rest of the year
And Lisa you have been so great! You're always so encouraging 🫂
Blackout! And a cat who looks like she would have a demon living inside her 🧐🤔😄

In this book fmc had to make a potion to breake a spell so I am ticking a box “potion“ on the bingo card.

It was fun to follow Cherry's story, how she made friends and found her place in the new environment.
This was super fun to read, so nostalgic.

I liked characters, there was something really sympathetic in the robots. Victor was also relatable, even though I still wonder why these are marcheted as adult books.
I read this at the right situation, I mean when I really needed something really simple, light, fun and comforting.
#spookoween
It's always lovely to be back with these characters.
I wasn't super intrigued by the mystery in this book. But this was a comfort read for me and worked really well for that.
#spookoween #serieslove2024
Characters weren't likable - they were morally grey. I really love that kind of characters. Like I said they weren't likable but I love to read about them xD
This was a dark and ugly story, but I loved it. I loved political plotting and betrayals.
This was a great story about people who had lust for power and oh boy how far they were willing to go! Reading this was like watching a train wreck.
#serieslove2024 #spookoween
I couldn't relate to characters, they felt too flat. I was intrigued at the beginning but soon noticed how almost nothing was happening. To be honest I was a bit bored. The writing was also overly descriptive to my taste (I don't have to know everything about everyone's appearances).
I wouldn't say that this was a bad read but bland.
#spookoween #serieslove2024
Characters felt realistic. I loved especially the beginning of the book where a main character was grieving for loosing her close one. That was relatable.
The beginning was scarier than the rest of the book and that might have also made the beginning better.
This felt a bit repetitive: the same pattern happened several times. The last part was a bit luch.
#spookoween
I loved characters, even secondary ones!
This was delightfully cosy & fun to read. I thought the mystery would play a bigger role but this was more a romance than anything else.
I loved this, this book was really entertaining and made me laugh. A perfect for a moment when you want to read something light.

“Her manner is now starting to seem slightly SPOOKY.“
