My #camplitsy nominations (links and descriptions in the comments):
Free: My Search for Meaning, by Amanda Knox

I‘m excited to join in this summer with #CampLitsy25 ! These are my nominations. Whatever we end up reading, the experience and discussion are always enlightening.
Here we go! Audition by Kate Kitamura was at the top of my list but since @squirrelbrain nominated it I chose Penitence instead. Loving the nominations so far! So happy camp is back!

For many of us these are not the best of times so we are excited to offer some distraction by announcing #CampLitsy25 🏕️ 📚
Nominations for the longlist are open now. We invite you all to suggest 4 books to read this summer. The books need to be published in 2025 and by mid June so we all can procure the final choices.
Post your choices with #CampLitsy25 and tag @Megabooks, @squirrelbrain & me.
Nominations are open until 26 April ⬇️⬇️
After announcing the 6 fabulous books for #camplitsy24, Meg, Barbara and I thought you might like to see the 10 books that ‘nearly‘ made the list. (In no particular order)
James was by far our runaway winner, with 4 in 10 Littens voting for it. Next were Bear and Clear, with around a quarter of you voting for each one.
The other 3 winning books gained just a few more votes than these 10, so a close-run race!
We‘d love to hear your thoughts!
I‘m thrilled to be hosting your August #camplitsy24 books!
First, we‘ll be heading off to Ireland to read about 4 gifted sisters in The Alternatives, then heading to the Pacific Northwest to read Bear, which was our second most voted for book, after James.
We‘ll confirm all of the dates for each book shortly.
That‘s all 6 books revealed now, what do you think of our final two, and of the full selection for camp? 🏕️

I am incredibly excited to be your counselor for July! We‘ll start off with the #1 vote getter, James, and if you haven‘t read Everett, be ready to leap into his backlist after this because he‘s wonderful. Then very appropriately we‘ll move on to Miranda July‘s All Fours. An artist on the edge? Yes, please! I hope you‘ll join us for one or both books! #CampLitsy24

Clear will be our first June read, followed by Butter. We hope you‘re happy with these first books!
I‘ll be your host in June & will get back to you with the reading schedule.

@Chelsea.Poole was it so CLEAR that Clear would be one of the selected books 🤣? You were right: it will be our first June read, followed by Butter. We hope you‘re happy with these first books!
I‘ll be your host in June & will get back to you with the reading schedule. Tomorrow check Meg‘s thread: she‘ll announce the July reads!
I am amazed at all of the nominations for #camplitsy this year. This was a really tough decision, and there are so many more I‘m just as interested in reading. But after spending an enjoyable afternoon reading as many blurbs as I could, I wound up voting for these 6. I wonder if any of them will wind up on our camp roster. We‘ll see!
Thank you so much to our hardworking hosts!
Well that was difficult! (I mean that in the best way!) 😆 Just picked 6 books off the long list for #CampLitsy24
So many great books to pick from & so many I wasn‘t familiar with-which is kind of the beauty of it. Can‘t wait to see what‘s picked!
Check out @BarbaraBB ‘s posts for the list & voting link if you haven‘t yet & want to get your vote in.
Thank you @BarbaraBB @Megabooks & @squirrelbrain for all of the work that goes into camp!🏕️
You know it‘s serious work when I pull out my computer for Litsy. Worked on my shortlist for #CampLitsy24 and my votes are in! It was hard to narrow down. I‘m curious what the shortlist will be!
Mad props to whoever prepared the spreadsheet - that made it much easier!

Time to vote on which July #CampLitsy23 book was your favorite Yellowface or Hijab Butch Blues. I really enjoyed both books and discussions!
I‘ll announce the winner Wednesday morning, so get your vote in before then. The winner will face Bandit Queens and August‘s winner for Best of Camp.
Your camp hosts thought you‘d like to see the next 6 books for #camplitsy23 - those that nearly made it but didn‘t!
It was very close with the winners changing with almost every vote. Questions and August Blue were very close, only missing out by a single vote each. The remaining 4 books received a few votes less, but all were on the same score.
And I make no apologies for using the UK cover of Big Swiss; so much nicer than the US one! 🤣
Attention campers! This weekend is the last chance to vote for the books we'll be reading at #CampLitsy23 this summer! You do not have to have nominated books to vote, and you don't have to vote to read with us this summer. Please let us know if you want to be added to our tag list!
Before you vote, check out the full longlist here: bit.ly/41VFK5X

My pic editing skills are a disgrace 🤣 but here are my nominations for #CampLitsy23
I want to pitch my tent with eco-warriors in Birnam Wood, go supernatural homesteading with Lone Women, dance my way between London and Ghana in Small Worlds, head to Ukraine to listen to Jimi Hendrix Live in Lviv, take Greek Lessons with a speechless woman in Seoul, and when the summer gets too hot let's visit eternal winter And Put Away Childish Things.
