#WDNCW that I‘m taking advantage of my oldest being home from college to be able to run errands kid free. Sure he‘s half asleep but he‘s present (he‘s 21 & the other 2 are about to be 16 & 10, I‘m not leaving little kids alone). We‘re learning self sufficiency this summer. It‘s so much quicker being able to run errands without dragging kids. Now I need to set up once a week lunch dates with my husband for the rest of the summer.

Saw King Lear last night with a like minded, close friend. We discussed the relevancy of this play with the evil madness going on now in our country.Today my garden & watching “my” hummingbird feed on bee balm brought me serenity. My husband put together fresh tomatoes,fresh basil, & mozzarella smothered with olive oil & balsamic vinegar for a before dinner treat. Makes me happy!

Stopped at Syd‘s Book Shack in Madison, CT, for their annual sale. It‘s a nonprofit used bookstore that raises funds to purchase assistive communication devices for nonverbal people. Here‘s my haul—and a view of the marsh out the back window.

1989: Suzanne is out on tour with her dad, Gil and the Kills. 10 years old and immersed into power struggles within the band & drink fuelled nights. She trades music for a quiet surburban life, when her father passes away it resurrects her troubled past. Written over time and from different POVs I found this story quite hard to get into. I really loved the premise of the storyline but the slow pace took a while to build character dynamics. 3🌟

#CampLitsy has given me 2 of the best reads of the year so far! I‘m spending the weekend scrapbooking and card making with good friends. I ♥️ my family to no end and I‘m so lucky to still have my beautiful parents in their 80s. And my stellar team at work are doing their best to keep my head above water. There‘s been so much tragedy here in Texas since July 4. I had to share my gratitude for life today for all I have. @DebinHawaii

I swear, I‘m alive!

I haven‘t picked up a book for my own pleasure since May. Every time I try to dive in, my brain refuses to focus. I was enjoying both books I was reading too, so I honestly don‘t know why this reading slump attacked so aggressively out of the blue.

Real life is crazy, but it‘s been crazier before and I was still able to escape into books. They‘ve been what got me through those crazy times…

Anyway, just wanted to report in.😅

I have posted a link to a survey that I would love some feedback for. I am thinking about doing an ereader swap, but I want to see if there is interest in it. The swap would be to send a link to a book and a small care box with goodies.
Hopefully, you guys will be able to give me some good feedback

I visited my grandparents after work tonight and it was so nice. Pa‘s been in hospital/rehab for the last month and it was pretty scary for awhile - and tonight I shared a meal with them, caught them up on what I‘d been up to and listened to Pa‘s analysis of the meals on wheels soups & when I was leaving Nana pressed this coin purse into my hand with gold coins for the laundromat (she saves them for me) and it was just kind of everything really.

We do not care that the family dinner tonight was frozen chicken baked in the oven, potatoes au gratin from a box, and microwaved lentils and barley. Sometimes that‘s all we can muster after a long busy day at work. 🥱

#WDNCW that we need a weighted blanket to fall asleep (even in the summer, I‘m always cold) but always kick it off. It is also necessary to use a sleep mask combined with a weighed sleep mask to sleep.
