These are the books I read on vacation. They‘re great picks because I loved them all. Just for Summer was my favorite, but not by much because they‘re all great!

I liked it… I did‘t love it. I found myself skipping over paragraphs that weren‘t necessary. Still, solid characters and world building and a great debut. I think because I read her Belladonna series first, it just didn‘t live up to those books which I love.
If you love Jude and Cardan like I do, then run don‘t walk to the Enemies & Lovers Kickstarter campaign: http://kck.st/4dp5o9J
Holly Black has created a strategy card game featuring her characters, and the concept art is gorgeous! They are foiled, and there are gold or green metallic edge options. The project funded in 30 minutes, but many options are still available!
I am no way paid or endorsed to say this… just a big fan!
“Are you flirting with me? It‘s a bit hard to tell, considering how terrifying you are.”
🤣🤣🤣
I‘m a few days late, but I was an 80‘s child, so I can‘t pass up this one. It‘s hard because I love so many songs from that time.
1. Time After Time Cyndi Lauper
2. Uptown Girl Billy Joel
3. Live and Die OMD
Of course, give me a few hours to think about it and I‘ll come up with three different ones! Thanks for the tag, @Eggs

This book was atmospheric and reminded me a bit of a southern gothic. I liked Opal as a flawed, yet scrappy main character who only wanted the best for her brother and was a survivor. I also love sentient house stories, and this did not disappoint. The OwlCrate version is gorgeous!
This was a quick read with lots of spice! I like the world building and the seven brothers. I‘m thrilled they will each get a standalone book and can‘t wait for Prince Gluttony‘s story. I felt like Wrath‘s story should‘ve been adult and not YA, so I‘m glad these are adult books.

Sharing the first chapter line, not the prologue:
Miss Camilla Antonius had very little patience for fools, even handsome ones.

1) More hanging out with my best friend… seems that we‘re at a stage where we see each other infrequently.
2) Less drama and more justice in the world around me.
3) My husband and the life we‘ve built together. This July will be 30 years since we met and I‘m grateful for every moment.
@Eggs
Oh my gosh! What a fun Friday package! Thank you @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Read4life and @TieDyeDude … I‘m thrilled to be randomly chosen for such awesomeness! I haven‘t read this book yet and it looks fantastic. I appreciate you and the #LitsyLove community!
I really love Abbi Waxman‘s writing style. It‘s quirky and unique and so are her characters. Nina Hill is a very likeable woman who has anxiety and loves books more than people. She surrounded by supportive friends and newly found family. The planner entries in each chapter add a fun touch to the story.
Thank you, @BethM for this exceptional #litsyfoundfamilyswap box! I love everything! The book light looks fabulous and with my aging eyes will come in handy! I also love the Ravenclaw bookmark - I‘ve never seen one like it before. I look forward to enjoying the beverages and tasty snacks while I read. Thank you @KateReadsYA for organizing!!
I really enjoyed this duology infused with eastern mythology and tea magic. Ning was a driven and strong heroine who also loved her family and aaa loyal to her friends. While there was a romance element, it wasn‘t central to the story. The focus was on Ning‘s journey of self discovery and empowerment.
Clyde wants to know what‘s in the box… so do I! 😂
Looking forward to the opening on March 30.
Thanks @BethM 🥰

Destiny, secrets, loyal friendships and slow burning romance topped with action and adventure. This was a great fantasy read and satisfying standalone story. I loved all the main characters, the descriptions, and the story arc. Highly recommend!
This was a very satisfying conclusion to Wren and Oak‘s story, but what I love most is how we get to continue with these characters in future books. Holly has already indicated that we will see more of Jude and Cardan in a future book. Sign me up!
As one of my favorite authors, Holly Black did not disappoint with this one. I highly recommend!
I‘m going to dinner and the theatre tonight with my best friend… it‘s nice to have something to look forward to after work.
1. I just started The Prisoner‘s Throne by Holly Black, which takes place in Elfhame in the icy North kingdom.
2. I‘ll never tire of crossing into Diagon Alley and taking the Hogwarts Express to visit Hogsmeade at Universal Orlando. I can‘t wait for the Ministry of Magic in the new park!

I‘m always happy to get snippets of Cardan… I just love that elf king!
Looking forward to seeing how Suren and Oak‘s story continues.
Re-reading for my bookclub. Still think this OwlCrate edition is absolutely gorgeous! My favorite parts are the foiled endpapers and glow in the dark dust jacket.
I like Mara Rutherford‘s writing style. This did not grab my attention quite as much as Poison Season, but I still enjoyed it. I also like that it‘s a standalone fantasy book. I don‘t always want to read a series!
This is such a meet cute story… literally. My favorites were the relationships between Franny and her best friends. I also loved seeing the relationship develop between Franny and Hayes. This was sweet, funny and a quick read.
1) gathering tax documents (I hate taxes) and paying bills (ditto).
2) Abu from Aladdin because he‘s funny and clever. Second favorite is Megara from Hercules; she‘s tough and puts Hades in his place.
3) I‘m happy each week as the days get longer. I also love when my tulips bloom.
Thanks for tagging me, @Crazeedi #motivationalmonday
This was my first Sophie Kinsella book, and I was surprised by how much I laughed out loud. From the quirky supporting cast to the outrageous scenarios, this really was a fun read. It was, however, grounded in serious moments too, like coping with job burnout, aging and dementia, etc. I really enjoyed it!
I love a good story about the Fae, and this series, written in a scholarly fashion but woven with charm and whimsy, has captured my heart. Poe reminds me of Dobby, and I even came to like Snowball. Above all, Wendell and Emily are adorable, and I can‘t wait to read the conclusion of their story in book 3.
This book covered a lot of ground - body positivity, fat shaming, social media trolls and their impact, yet it also was a charming love story. I like Scott and Crystal together. I‘m looking forward to reading Amy‘s next book about Crystal‘s sister, Tara.
I read this book in a few hours, but in the dead of winterw, I couldn‘t have asked for a better story to transport me to a lush tropical island. Some of the twists I saw coming, but overall, it was an atmospheric and eerie read. I loved it!
I related to Libby as an older sister myself and also as someone who has struggled with my weight my whole life. Hannah is a fabulous character as well. She has anxiety, but deals with it in healthy ways. It‘s clear how both sisters love each other, and that‘s the true star of this story.
I‘m not usually one for thrillers or suspense, but I did enjoy this book. Emma and Leo were very realistic characters, and i found myself rooting for them throughout the story. The book wraps in a very satisfying way. I highly recommend!
This book reminded me how much I need more Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase in my life. I hope we get to see them in college. Percy is the best…. If you loved the other books, you‘ll love this one. That is all.
This was a quick read and short book, but I found myself skipping over paragraphs. The characters felt shallow to me, the romance wasn‘t very believable, and I found some aspects confusing, like how she had an 8-year fight with her dad then suddenly, they‘re both okay with each other. Maybe it was the pacing, but it felt weird to me.
This is a cute book. I don‘t know a lot about Jewish customs, so it was interesting to learn the various terms and better understand how Hanukkah is celebrated. I liked Rachel, Mickey and Jacob, but my favorite was Jacob‘s bubbe.
I also think it‘s important to note the chronic illness/ invisible disability representation. It was well done.
Second books always have a lot of expectations to live up to. Overall, I really liked this one, although I was just about over the dramatics between Violet and Xaden. I love Rhi, Ridoc, Sawyer, and many other characters, but there are a LOT of names to keep track of. Will I keep reading this series? Yes. Will I forget most of the details by the time the next book comes out? Also yes.
This book didn‘t grab me from the start. Although the writing is witty, I did not like Bettie at all - she‘s self absorbed and spoiled. Hall is a lot like Buddy the Elf, but soon, we see how these two learn from each other. I‘m glad I hung on… this is a cute, heartwarming holiday grumpy-and-sunshine story.
Started my holiday reading with this one. It was cute. I liked Colton more than I liked Gretchen, but it‘s understandable why she had a lot of baggage. The complicated relationship with her family certainly kept this book from being fluffy or too lighthearted.
This was a cute, quick read. I grabbed the copy at my local library, not that I don‘t have shelves upon shelves of unread books at home.
The relationship between Cassie and Frederick is cute. They‘re both a little quirky, and I think that‘s what makes it work. If you like rom coms, I recommend trying this one out. There‘s a little spice, but not much. It‘s just a fun, fluffy story, like the TikTok cat videos Cassie likes to watch.
This was very interesting… I liked the atmosphere. Appropriately creepy as an October (well, technically November) read.
This was a cozy read, albeit slower paced than I typically prefer. I liked Gigi, and I loved the relationship between Sadie and Seth. My favorite parts were in the last third when we got to see the extended family.
Hard to believe I had never read this classic. It was a cute story, although I had some trouble with the Yorkshire dialect.
As others have shared, this book is light and fun - a bit of cotton candy on your shelf. That said, there are some very funny, laugh out loud moments, like this one that made it very entertaining.
While I enjoyed The Lost Apothecary more, this was still an entertaining read. I think my biggest complaint was Lenna. She wasn‘t super likable, in my opinion. She immediately turned on her sister and Vaudeline whenever any small thing gave her doubt. In that respect, I felt she wasn‘t very loyal, and they were generous to quickly forgive her harsh worlds. It was an interesting overall with two murders to solve.
Silly Evangeline. Why did she not stay forever in the cozy inn with Jacks and the baby dragon? This book was so fun with twists and turns. It left me grateful that I only have to wait a few weeks for the conclusion. Also, how amazing are these preorder dust jackets? I can‘t wait to get the third one, too.
Stephanie Garber had me at a series that features Jacks. I loved him in Legendary, but I adore him ever more in these books. Evangeline is his match in so many ways, and I love that he nicknamed her “Little Fox.”
I will take more of Grayson and Jameson Hawthorne any day! I love that this series is continuing, and new characters are being introduced. I hope we get to see a book from Nash and Xander‘s POV someday too. Of all the brothers, Nash seems the least flushed out to me. Maybe it‘s because I‘m the oldest that I‘d like to know the oldest brother a little more. At any rate, I can‘t wait for the next installment. Game on!
“Something‘s coming. Something with teeth.”
This was a creepy, atmospheric read. I enjoyed the relationship between DeLaney and Colton, and there were interesting side characters, too. It‘s nice to see a main character with a disability as well. Highly recommend this one.
This is a book about a magical apartment, about who we are today, who we were in the past, and who we will be in the future. With themes of love, forgiveness, grief and fulfilling your dreams, I could not put it down! Every time I think the last book by Ashley Poston was my favorite, she comes out with a new one that steals my heart. I also loved getting a little Easter Egg glimpse at the characters from The Dead Romantics.
I see the hype - it has the addictive quality of Twilight and Divergent. In fact, I saw a LOT of similarities to Divergent; of course, under any entirely different premise of a fantasy world and dragon wings instead of factions. My favorite characters were actually side characters: Rhiannon and Liam. I also loved the dragons, because DRAGONS! I‘ll be interested to see where book 2 goes, and this time, I‘ll get the early edition since I preordered.
First, I looove these covers! The pop art style is gorgeous and eye catching. I read both of these books yesterday and they were so fun! I love the representation in these books from a variety of body types (with positive messaging), ethnicity, and LGBTQ rep. The alternating POV between Ada and Lauren really allows us to get to know each character. I hope there are more books like these coming from the author!
Finished Foxglove this morning and can‘t stop thinking about this series. The personas of Death and Fate are so interesting. Signa is smart, independent and yet full of love and empathy for her family. The plot is fast paced and intriguing with lots of twists and turns. Some I saw coming, some I did not. I can‘t wait for the next book, Wisteria, and already ordered the Barnes & Noble edition to match these beauties.
