so-soMy main issues with this book are the inconsistencies, on top of my general dislike of Emily. The story meandered too much and felt longer than it should have been. There were too many times when Emily had to get to a plot point and then make a B line because suddenly there was another thing going on, and things needed to be adjusted. Or some fairy nonsense was happening to foil her plans.

pickMy husband and I finished this one over the weekend. It took longer than usual because we took turns reading it to each other, but it was worth the wait. Another excellent book about Emily and Wendell! The plots in this series continue to get more and more complex. I‘d say this was three times more complex as the first one. So much happens in this one. I will definitely have to reread someday. Highly recommended!
pickAnother fun installment of the series. I like how mismatched Wendell and Emily are because it's always entertaining. Emily is her scholarly self and can't help but research her way into more trouble.
pickI stalled in reading this because of personal stuff, but today seemed like the right day to get back to it. I read 150 pages of it in two big gulps, as usual with these books. It feels like a good place to leave the series, though I'm actually not sure if it's meant as a conclusion or not.
It was my #DoubleSpin book, though it still leaves me in search of a #BookSpinBingo. I really am not doing it on purpose this time...!

pickI thought Emily's conviction that Faerie is structured not just on rules and traditions but on stories to be a fascinating idea. It's also interesting to see her have to defer to Wendell for once, as this is his realm and his family they are dealing with.
Looking forward to seeing more of these characters, and curious as to where Fawcett will go now that she's covered encyclopedias, maps, and story compilations!

pickThis was a strong conclusion to the Emily Wilde trilogy, although I‘m a bit sad to be done with this lovely world and the adorable Wendell. As a dog and cat owner, I also appreciated the personalities of Shadow and Orga.

pickI wish there was more! Sometimes I hate coming to the end of the journey, even though it ended perfectly. I guess I can just start over again, though. 💕

I was also rolling my eyes at Wendell saying how immortality magic isn't really a thing, but it easily could have been if there were consequences to that instead of relying on “well it's too implausible“ (edited) 1d
