Reread done just in time❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I‘m so impressed how this series stands up on rereads. Like that is not true of all series. Now counting down to Oathbound!!!

This evening has been so busy! But I finally got to sit down and open my #JolabokaflodSwap package! 💙❤️💙❤️
@Scochrane26 Thank you so much! I‘ve been looking forward to this book since the moment I finished the first one! And the chocolate is my favorite! Thanks again!
And thanks to @MaleficentBookDragon for setting up this amazing swap year after year! I look forward to it every year! ❤️🎄❤️
The character interactions were awesome. The worldbuilding was pretty heavy in the 1st book &only got moreso here, the action in the ending became difficult to follow due to all the different magic, possession: ancestral characters & descents of others in prior characters bodies, real world, blood walks, dream world… some facets of this got overwhelming. So, I didn‘t like it as much as the 1st, but I will still look forward to the 3rd.
I enjoyed the writing again but the first one was better. Waiting for book three. Just barely a pick, giving it a break due to my love of Legendborn.
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
In honor of all the Legendborn news had to give my girl Bree the entire row📚📚📚 And order special editions 🥰
I liked this sequel even better than Legendborn. With the world already established, I was able to just sink into the story without having to spend time figuring out the Intricacies of the Legendborn. The world deepens and expands here, the characters continue to grow, and Deonn continues to weave together Arthurian legends with legacies of racism and oppression in surprising and apt ways. And, the Arthurian elements were so well done ⤵️
I had plans tonight. Reading plans. Plans that didn‘t include knocking my glass of pseudo-sangria all over the floor and subsequently spending 45 minutes berating myself, hunting for the carpet cleaner, and then cleaning berries and wine out of my carpet. 😭 I think I‘ll be skipping over the politics and the book club/buddy reads tonight and instead losing myself in the fast-paced YA.
Ready for the next one to see how this all ends. I am the minority as I liked the first book better.
Boy oh boy. These books are AWESOME. LOVED book 2 and can‘t wait for the next. Believe the hype! These are sooo good. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
YA‘LL. I just found out there is a SEQEUL to one of my new favorite books! Has anyone read this? Please tell me what you think! But no spoilers! Leave the reading to the readers and spoiling to the spoilers. ;)
Bloodmarked wins for April, but Hester is advancing! #readingbracket2023 @chasjjlee thanks again for the bracket! 💚
This second book in the Legendborn Cycle was even better than the first (and the first was excellent). I absolutely cannot WAIT for the third! #bookhangover #booked2023 #partofatrilogy #tbrtarot #onewordtitle
OMG, that ending! I never saw that coming!
Also, I have never hoped so hard for a love triangle to be resolved with polyamory 😂
"Wishes are the dangerous mind games we play with ourselves. The only way to win is not to play." From Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn.
“This world wants my suffering, and I cannot keep giving it to them.”
Really enjoyed this story and I‘m looking forward to seeing what happens next!
Bree is too obsessed with Nick....And quite selfish...
Still eager to read the 3rd one. Want to know what happens next.

Bloodmarked wins Jan!
I read 4 books in January, all 4 stars, but Bloodmarked was the one I enjoyed the most!
The Legendborn Cycle still holds strong as one of, if not the best YA fantasy I've read.
Not so patiently waiting for the next installment!
4⭐
So, so, so good!
Doesn't suffer at all from second book syndrome.
For being over 500pgs, it never loses steam and remains action packed throughout.
I can't wait for book 3!
This is YA, but it is smart, thought-provoking, and handles topics of grief, race, identity, and ancestral burdens SO WELL! 👏👏👏
My first Book Haul of 2023. Already finished Legendborn and into Bloodmarked. Loving the books and especially the main character.
Hell Bent is a part of the Book Haul, just needs to arrive after release.

My November pick is that rare sequel that not only lives up to the first book in the series but also surpasses it—Bloodmarked was everything I wanted and then some. I can‘t wait to see what Deonn does to top this one. Also this month—Night of the Living Rez, Call Us What We Carry and Heart of the Sun Warrior are worthy of mention. It was another great month of reading!
@Andrew65
First book of the year! It was amazing and fun.
I still loved the characters but overall this was a big disappointed after the first installment.
I loved the first book where we got to know so many secrets and mysteries were solved. This book didn't give that many new discoveries and a rescue mission took forever. It felt like almost nothing was happening.
And oh how I hate love triangles.

If I just scream, is that enough of a review? I would die for Bree and Alice and Nick and William and I am in DISTRESS. #yafantasy
I love my #JolabokaflodSwap package @gossamerchild thank you so much if I am every out your way I will check out the bookstore. The chocolate is already halfway gone lol. @MaleficentBookDragon
“This place is ours, isn‘t it?”
“Yes ma‘am”
“Good”
If anyone needs me I will be sobbing until the next book comes out. Mixing the legend of the round table with generational magic and trauma is just absolutely brilliant. All of these characters have my whole heart and I need the next book immediately.
Book 2 in the Legendborn Cycle was amazing! This of literal black girl magic is so well written and the story is just amazing. If you like fantasy and have yet to read these books, I highly recommend. I cannot wait for book 3 in the trilogy.
Loved this! I did like Legendborn slightly better but loved that I got more Sel, Alice, and William with this one. Also loved exploration of identity especially in terms of magic, bloodlines, legends, and race. Need next book now
There was a holiday lights parade in town tonight! This was the first year that the library got to be in it! 🥹💕📚 Of course I brought a book with me (two, actually!) so I could read while we were waiting for the parade to start!
"Black folks don't need Oaths to take care of each other. We never did."
This book is, as hard as this may be to believe, JUST AS FANTASTIC as the first one! ???

November was a good reading month, almost as many books as days. Yay for long holiday weekends! 29 books total—tagged was probably my favorite but it‘s close, all of these books were really good and ones that I recommend. Shout out also to David Chang‘s memoir Eat a Peach and Maureen Johnson‘s The Box in the Woods both of which were also really good. And can‘t forget Hocus Pocus—ok story but absolutely love Gris Grimly‘s illustrations.
I‘m officially on my 4th reread 💜💜🥳 I just love these books
Did Sel just say what I think he said? 🤭
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Between a flu epidemic running rampant through the school and bridesmaid dress shopping has been a crazy week so far. Today I am looking forward to just kicking back with some good food, good company, and a good book.
Love!Love!Love Bree, Sel and Nick ❤️❤️❤️ I will be recovering from a book hangover and actively rereading my favorite parts. I now totally see Kit Conner as Nick Davies. Created a little playlist for my new favorite love triangle.
Nothing like a park date, some fresh air, and starting a new chunky fantasy!! It's so lovely out today ☺️
This book is one of my most anticipated books this year!
I devoured Legendborn! It is, hands down, one of the top 5 YA fantasies I've read.
I hope book two is just as great!
“Don‘t be scared,” I whisper to the girl in the mirror. “Don‘t be scared. Fight.”
❤💙⚔
The worthiest of sequels, in my opinion. I loved every second I spent reading this book. The story is really something else. While the characters are all compelling (you really feel something for all them, you love some, deeply dislike some), it's the story that keeps you. It's a seriously epic retelling of the Arthurian legends, and is the kind of book you want to set aside time every year to reread.
⭐: 5 (all of the stars!)
❤️
Totally worth staying up late and losing sleep. Where‘s book 3? I neeeeed book 3 now. The wait is gonna be hard.
Sooo excited to start this book! I may relisten to book one if the first chapter doesn‘t make sense to me to be safe😅 I have the worst memory so I feel like I just remember snippets of scenes
There‘s nothing better than a sequel that holds up & even builds on the promise of the first book in a series. Nick is missing & Bree & Selwyn race to save him as new threats emerge…& that‘s just the beginning. Deonn dials it up a notch or two or a bazillion in this book—the world building is top notch, the characters flawed & complex, & if you think the first book ends on a cliffhanger just wait until you read this one. Excellent & unputdownable.
Saw the above online and it fits perfectly! My preorder arrived today and I‘m so happy! 📚 😁
