I enjoyed my #TBRtarot pick this month. It was a slow burn and of course ended on a cliffhanger so now we must wait for the next book. This had lots of mythology, a strong FMC and an impending war between heaven and hell. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My #StuffedStockingSwap is on its way to my secret recipient!!!! 🤫Thank you for hosting @Avanders I had a blast shopping for this one! 🧦🎄🤶🏻⭐️📚🎁🎉❤️ #SSS
Here‘s my #SeasonalSpiritShare @dabbe ! This season I‘m focusing on things that bring me joy- hallmark Christmas movies, all the seasonal coffee drinks, and of course it wouldn‘t be the holidays without Mariah Carey 😂🎄
I loved this epic fantasy chunkster. Our tough female assassin is so bent on revenge she has no interest in recovering the past. She does not see that love could be better than vengeance. The world building was great and reminded me of Priory of the Orange Tree- so if you loved that one you should def read this! I can‘t wait for book 2 next year! #serieslove2024 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Thank you so much for the fun giveaway! I love them all! Appreciate it so much!
Finishing up this #readyourkindle pick and I might describe it as Medieval Nun Assassins? I loved the history and mythology in this world and our FMC Ismene is questioning all she‘s been taught and falling in love. Lots of real historical figures mixed in the story which makes the betrayals all the more horrible! Will definitely read the next in the series. #serieslove2024 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
#readingbracket2024 I read so many five star books this month but my favorite of October was definitely the new Sabaa Tahir book. It‘s a top read of the year for sure. Only a few spots left!
This new novella was beautifully illustrated and I loved the design and layout. I would get it just for its beauty. But the story itself was a little lacking. Not much happened and there was nothing really added to the original story lines. It was just meh. ⭐️⭐️
Enjoyed my #TBRtarot pick this month- perfect time to read this novella! A cute (horror?) story about a group of people who become friends after meeting up all the time for cigarette breaks in an abandoned cemetery and then one night a new hole appears. They go about solving the mystery. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
I absolutely loved the new Tahir book! She never disappoints me. The world building is fantastic. Lots of interesting and amazing characters all coming together to fight the same evil for various reasons. Found families, a great love story and a great cliffhanger ending- what more could you want? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#serieslove2024 I loved this first book in a new series by the Bone Shard Daughter author. Her world building is unmatched and so innovative. In this new series two sisters are separated due to this mystical earth restoration and we see both of their lives for the ten years that follow. Lots of unique magic and it left off on a nice shocking surprise so of course I‘m going to read the rest when they come out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was my next #readyourkindle pick this month. It took a minute to get into it but then I was hooked. Elves find themselves trapped as prisoners of the Fae and there are great love stories but also sisterly love. Many secrets are revealed regarding the ongoing wars, births, and heritage and I love the magic in this world. I will definitely be reading the next 2 in the series! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My first #readyourkindle pick this month was not what I expected- I thought it was going to be more of a fantasy but it seemed more of a mystery. No real supernatural elements. The best part was the setting of the Cloisters. I did not like our FMCs either. This one definitely fell a little short. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
#serieslove2024 The second book in the Middlemist Triology was not as good as the first. It dragged on a bit. I still loved the fierce lady friendships and love story but clearly Legrand is building up to what will be an epic third book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
I‘m obsessed with my #FallingForFallSwap package! Thank you soo much @catiewithac ! I can‘t wait to make some coffee and dive into these awesome books! Look at those gorgeous pens and highlighters!I absolutely love it all! #FFFS 😍🍂🍁🍃
Here‘s my September fav! My #2024readingbracket is filling up fast! Can‘t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
#serieslove2024 Although not as good as the first, I still enjoyed this one. I loved the “will they” or “won‘t they” love story that continues in book 2 and revisiting the characters. It was the plot that didn‘t unfold as naturally as the first I think. Clearly, with this cliffhanger there will be a third so excited for that one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our #whismicalreadsbookclub book this month definitely had the most “whismy!” I loved this story of a librarian who finds her way back home as she tries to restart her life. Tons of magical creatures and this story was def as sweet as the jam Keila makes. A feel good read that I can‘t wait to discuss! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yay! It‘s here! Excited and early thank you! #FallingForFallSwap Now the waiting begins! @catiewithac !! 🍁🍂🤎
I enjoyed my #TBRtarot pick this month! 4 siblings host an annual end of summer party each with their own motivations and secrets. I liked each of the siblings and enjoyed the two parts- One of which takes place in 1983! The ending felt a little anticlimactic but still a good read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
#wondrouswednesday Ooh fun! Thanks for the tag @Eggs !
🍁Tagged was def one of my Aug faves!
🍁🍁Paper all the way!
🍁🍁🍁 I‘m a fantasy, romantasy, dystopian kind of gal.
I‘ll tag: @KateReadsYA , @Mitch , @forestandcrow
Finally finished this #readyourkindle pick! Book 4 in the series and it was just as good as the 1st! It focuses on Paige & Warden in Paris. Paige is still trying to destroy Scion while forming new alliances in France and there was a twist I did not see coming at all. I finished just in time as book 5 comes out soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just a little sneak peak! Mailed out my #FallingForFallSwap package today! Hope my recipient loves everything! Thanks again for hosting! So fun! 🍂🍁🍃 #FFFS
Ooh boy did I love this one! We get multiple POVs and each character‘s storyline was better than the next. A band of misfits coming together to overthrow a King and change their lives. We learn each person‘s motivations and back stories. The ending did fall short for me (it felt like a cop out) as the author is obviously writing a sequel but it was still extremely well written and enjoyable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Here‘s my #whimsicalreadsbookclub #cozycollage! It‘s making me ready for everything fall- apples, knitting, fire pits, pies! Love it! 🍂🍁🍎🧡🧶
#2024readingbracket My Aug fav did not beat out Reckless. I see Lauren Roberts is easily becoming my fav author of the year. This month I‘m continuing the Samantha Shannon bone season books so we‘ll see if that becomes my Sept fav as well! Oh and I still have one bonus spot available. #readingbracket2024
I loved being back in this world with the Hawthornes but I equally enjoyed all of the new characters we meet as well! Avery and Jameson are running the grandest games with old favs (Greyson) and tons of newbies each with their own reasons for joining the games and wanting the prize money. Love the alliances and backstories. These will also be a series! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finally got to one of my #readyourkindle picks! I absolutely loved this Little Mermaid retelling! It was dark and twisted and soo good! I think it‘s a series so will have to check out the next one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#serieslove2024 This 3rd book in the series is much smaller than the other books and felt a little underdeveloped maybe because of that? I still love this series and in this one Paige is trying to save the entire world basically by her self. She‘s finally trusting herself and finding her strength. Now to finish book 4 before the fifth one comes out in Feb! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I‘m going to be teaching this in my college classes this fall - lots of ideas and solutions to discuss about poverty and American society but also super depressing at the same time. The ideas here are that we could easily end poverty in our country and he leaves us with many solutions as to how. We need to examine who benefits from poverty to understand why it still exists. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#serieslove2024 I loved this new spinoff from the Crave world. This new series is the first of what I assume will be many books. This one focuses on Calder Academy and the teachers and students there. I did love the new characters we meet. Lots of new creatures and magic, drama and love. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
Can‘t wait for our #whimsicalreadsbookclub discussion of this one. Is this a standalone? Feels like it could be but I think it‘s a series? Anyway, a good revenge story giving Mulan vibes. A girl trying to avenge her father and enter a male only guild and of course there are princes who complicate things. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My #TBRtarot pick this month was beautiful and heart wrenching at the same time. The author tells the story of Vietnam and the things all soldiers carry both physically and emotionally. Im so glad I finally read this classic. I will be thinking about this one for a long time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#serieslove2024 A good ending to the duology and King Arthur re imagining. The Tamsin-Emrys love story kept me guessing. Our heroes are on the run trying to uncover secrets and deal with tons of plot twists, the bad guys are in control, and the magic world is in peril. The usual. Rating is same as book 1: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
#serieslove2024 The second Bone Season book did not disappoint! I waited for the new editions to come out and it was worth it. Paige escaped Oxford only to go back to Jaxon which is also a prison of sorts. She is stuck and the only way out is to take the place of ruler. I just love the worlds Shannon builds and I can‘t wait to see these characters who I love continue into the next book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#readingbracket2024 My top pick this month was the sequel to my favorite pick from the whole year so far Powerless! I also added another bonus pick which seem to be filling up fast! Let‘s see what Aug brings! #2024readingbracket
@forestandcrow Thank you so much for the epic #staycationintimeswap! I cannot wait to make a cup o‘ tea and eat shortbread and dive into these amazing books! I appreciate it so much! Love it! 🥰❤️ #staycationswap
Such a great story about friendship and video games. I enjoyed the behind the scenes look at how games are created but the real storyline are Marx, Sam and Sadie and the relationships between them. There‘s also a message about the horrors and traumas of the real world vs. utopias you can escape to in games. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This #camplitsy24 book about 4 sisters had some interesting themes but fell short for me. The format was unique but I enjoyed when we got each sister‘s POV. I can‘t wait to discuss that ending during camp although I do wish there was more resolution at the end. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another great #camplitsy24 pick that I would not have read on my own. Two sisters trying to better their lives while feeling stuck on their island and taking care of their sick mother. Then a bear shows up. You can kind of guess where it‘s going but I still was enthralled and entertained. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#serieslove2024 The second in the series picks up right after book 1. In this one Ren‘s revenge plot unfolds. The characters have chosen vengeance over having happy lives and many are left questioning their choices. Ren finds some new allies and I love the new characters we meet. It all comes together in a great battle and ending. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#serieslove2024 This first book was a little slow at first, but was actually quite good! (My opinion: Not as good as Fourth Wing but similar). A revolution to replace aristocracy and questions about if new regime is as bad as the old. Two orphaned dragon riders are left to question loyalties to family that is blood vs. found family. The author says this was inspired by the Aeneid and Plato. I will definitely read the rest of the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I absolutely loved this first book but of course we have 2nd book filler problems. I love how Roberts creates cities and worlds but this book mainly took place on the road as it was mostly a chase between Kai and Pae. The ending was quite a shock though so I know we are leading up to a great 3rd book. I still hung on every word but it was def more about character and less plot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My #TBRtarot pick this month was a story about two orphan girls that get separated and one lives as an assassin and the other in a brothel. It‘s a beautiful love story between them, lots of trying to figure out identities and powers and trying to help the fae in this realm. Will have to get the next one to see what happens as the story was left unresolved. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I don‘t know which is more beautiful -the gorgeous book or the absolutely amazing crocheted book sleeve! Obsessed with the rose charms! Thank you soo much @KateReadsYA ! You are the best! All of my books will be nice and warm from here on out! I got the #LMPBC book too- which of course you could have kept longer to finish! I‘m so glad we are still reading more books together in #whimsicalreads! Feeling grateful ✨💕 and sending thanks!
What?! This #camplitsy24 discussion is going to be wild! Maybe because I‘m in my 40‘s that I loved this weird and crazy story?? How to even describe it? It‘s about a woman in her 40‘s discovering who is she sexually, and mentally and challenging the conventional marriage to find what works for her. Because what‘s the alternative- depression and possible death? Jeez Louise. Buckle up campers! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Can‘t wait to discuss this for #whimsicalreadsbookclub this month. I have a lot of opinions about Kajal and Tav! It was a mix of Hindu mythology and Frankenstein. Really a story about sibling bonds and the balance of light and dark. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
#serieslove2024 The Gage crime family runs New Orleans and Cate is a nurse. When her brother gets involved with them she makes a bargain to save him and has to live in the Fae otherworld as she tries to navigate this world she had no idea existed. Romance and chaos ensues but there were some good twists and turns I didn‘t see coming so I‘ll have to read the next book for sure to see how it all plays out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Wow this #2024readingbracket is filling up fast! It was soo hard to choose my fav from the year so far but here‘s where I ended up. Just in time for the new Roberts book to come out next week! Let‘s see what the rest of the year brings! #readingbracket2024
