I listened to the graphic audio of the first two in this series. Reading this feels haaard. So many names. Anyone else feel this? But - I want to know what happens so I‘ll try to keep at it. 🐉

Wowza! It took me the fist 1/4 of the book to remember what happened in book 3, and I‘m not entirely sure what happened at the end of this one, but I enjoyed the ride. Wish book 4 was available now!
Slow in the beginning and very chaotic in the end.
Made me cry and question myself way to often.
It was a little too confusing at some point but the cliffhanger ufff.
Reminded me a little of „Hangover“, waking up at 3 am, knowing nothing about what happened and being married, but the husband is missing woohhhh way to go
.
Now we all have to wait for at least a year to know what happens next 🥹
🐉
Finally starting this. Kind of wish I‘d reread the previous 2, but I ended up finding a recap video on YouTube
Omg… I knew there would be a cliffhanger but holy moly, way to rip my heart out! A great installment of the series and now I have to wait and wait and wait…
It‘s a mild pick for me. This installment makes it way too obvious that she‘s stretching a trilogy to five books. It started slow but got going midway through, when it finally became hard to put down. The ending was a total mess though, I had to google it to figure out what on earth was actually going on, and I‘m honestly still confused!
This book had a slow start but tore me apart by the end 😭❤️ Knowing Rebecca isn‘t going to start writing the next book until ATLEAST September (probably even later) is going to torture me 🙄🤣 I guess I‘ll just have to go another reread when the time comes 📚
Getting in a little self care/reading on my birthday
I wore my fourth wing sweatshirt to Starbucks…..
Well, damn. I knew there would be a cliff hanger at the end, but I‘m still upset about it! I‘m really enjoying this series and already impatient for the rest…. And have so many questions!!
“I know exactly who and what you are, Violet Sorrengail.” -Tairn 🖤🐉
Who she is = a badass who deals with pain on a daily, willing to stand by her man, be worthy of her dragons and save the whole continent in the process.
This series lives rent free in my heart now!

I mean, it‘s not like there was any other choice for this month…🐉 (Although House of Deceit is 2nd!)
Finished the third book in the series today. I enjoyed the character development. Main theme is repeated quite often throughout the book and I anticipated the cliff hanger ending from the moment I started chapter one. I will continue to read the series, but was a little disappointed with this one. Hoping book 4 is better!
“To the ones who don‘t run with the popular crowd, the ones who get caught reading under their desks, the ones who feel like they never get invited, included, or represented. Get your leathers. We have dragons to ride.”

This was overall a fun action packed continuation of the story. I just hate the cliffhanger ending! 3.5⭐️
Oof! Riveting, fast paced, stressful, heartbreaking. I don‘t love everything about the series, but I sure do love a lot of things, especially the dragons. 🐉 Andarna and Tairn‘s relationship is one of my favorites and I love the crew and their found family vibes. The way they tease, challenge, and take care of each other is delightful. #BookspinBingo
This was just the dragon battle romantasy I needed to escape reality, at least for a while. Book 3 in the Empyrean series opens with Violet and Xaden intent on finding more dragons like Andarna, capable of helping protect the Continent as the wards threaten to fail. Secrets are revealed as the darkness constantly threatens to overwhelm them. I will admit to losing track of the large cast of characters (who's Lynx again?) but that's a minor quibble
I loved this. Maybe not as much as the first book but still. My work friend has been referring to this as dragon smut. Another has been delivering dramatic readings when walking past my desk. One time he blushed and said it might not be work appropriate. 😂 Indeed.

I‘ve been listening to this series rather than reading it. The first 3 hours had me feeling a bit lost & confused until I found a podcast to review the first two books. Once I had the review, I was right back into the story. Overall, I enjoyed the adventures. I get the cliff hanger abruptness at the end but I wasn‘t ready for the end 😩
Now the wait…
What the actual f!?!?! I am confusion. I enjoyed the book overall but I don‘t think it ended being as good as the first two. I think RY left us, readers, in the dark a little too much. Like someone said here, the ending was definitely rushed. First half of the book was great, the second half seemed lacking. I am glad RY is taking her time with the fourth. I rather wait and have a great book than have it quick and find it lacking. 4⭐️
I didn‘t mind this, but that‘s honestly the nicest thing I‘ve got to say. The ending feels reaaaally rushed and if you want a character‘s death to resonate I feel like you need to build them more of a personality than the average member of the ensemble cast gets (which Rebecca certainly succeeded at doing in book 1, but not so much here).
Like how am I supposed to just go on with my life until the next book?? HOW?!
My hubs got me a new blanket, I had a bad day so retail therapy happened again, then my cat wanted to blend in with all the grey. Got to say feeling much better. 🥰
I have so many unanswered questions…like, what the whaaaa? This is a pick due to piqued curiosity.
So excited to get the Special Edition #OnyxStorm 🐉 ⛈️ Xaden never disappoints. 😂 This is book 3 in the 5 book series of #FourthWing I highly recommend 🖤❤️🔥
Got it on release day but struggled to get into it. Giving it another chance now, after finishing Witch Accused by Krista Walsh. :)
4.75⭐
•Ugh…that ending left me reeling in more ways than one. I‘m hella confused about what is going on and wishing that it wouldn‘t be so long (however long that may be) for the next installment to come out. Reading up on stats from the wiki has helped to lessen my confusion, at least a little.
•Rebecca Soler was much improved since the first book…but I still prefer the Graphic Audio editions of this so much more.
Reading this for Xaden 😩
I hope it‘s better than Iron Flame.
@Butterfinger @Chrissyreadit well… THIS could be helpful. I mean, a deity has power beyond humans, even magic wielding humans, right?

Another fast paced ride with Violet and her band of crazy dragon riders and friends. Nothing really new is added to the plot, it follows along the storyline of Violet and Xaden and their fight against evil. We get some of Andarna in this one, but not enough IMO. She‘s hilarious and sasses Tairn a lot.I was stressed out for the last half and almost went looking for spoilers. Can‘t wait for the next one! Book #9 in 2025
Started out slow and finished strong for me. I just don‘t know how I feel about waiting so long in between these books; I forget too much!
Book 6 of 2025
@Chrissyreadit is this foreshadowing something I don‘t want to think about? 😢

I can't even think what to say about this. Maybe.... no. There's just nothing. I can't. Read it if you're interested in drama, dragons, war. And love. Make up your own mind. I've got nothing.

Looks like I‘ve been catnapped 🤣 Onyx Storm is in the other side of my living room so I guess I‘ll just read another book for now 🙄
With this series I'm in it for the snarky dragons, war strategy & world building. I enjoyed every minute of it, but I don't think it's anything ground breaking or that the writing is brilliant. It does what it is supposed to. It entertained & kept me interested the whole time. I loved Ridoc's quips & Tairn's attitude. The exploration of the islands reminded me of Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I had fun returning to this world & that's all I wanted.
Please don‘t come at me. If you loved this, I am so glad for you! This DNF is of my own doing. I knew after Iron Flame that this series was headed in a direction that I didn‘t want to go. Nearly halfway through Onyx Storm, I‘m struggling to keep up with characters and places and the purpose of what is happening in the book. And to be honest, I‘m bored and there‘s too many books out there. I got caught up in the hype and it didn‘t work for me…again

#JanuaryWrapUp with my January stats recap on #StoryGraph. The brief hangover I had starting on the 22nd after finishing the tagged book shows when you look at how many pages I read each day of the month, but for the most part, I did okay. #RebeccaYarros #FourthWing #IronFlame #OnyxStorm #SaveXaden #Riorgail #Sorrenson #Longest2YearsOfMyLifeAhead
I do not understand the ending. I have so many questions. Yarrow, you are too brilliant for your own good.
I liked this book more than the 2nd, though I still wish for a stronger editing hand from Yarros‘ publisher, because the middle got real bogged down again.
However, the ending has left me feeling real strung out and emotional about characters that I didn‘t think I cared that much about, so there is definitely some strength in writing there.
I‘m sure they are going to be 1000 theories about what‘s coming next, so feel free to share them with me!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Onyx Storm was such an addictive, immersive reading experience! I felt like I was actually in the action and I‘m just so invested in the characters. There is plenty of fodder for theorizing while we wait for the fourth book. Strap on your riding leathers and enjoy the exhilarating ride!
It‘s been a rough few weeks. Time for some sarcastic dragons.
Me and my friend here are getting my car inspected.
As soon as we got this at the library, I brought it home and stayed up all night reading it so I could get it back on the shelves for other patrons.
I'm still enjoying the series. It's fast-paced with the intense battle scenes we've come to expect. I did feel like the people were more the focus and we had less dragon time, and to be honest, I'm really just here for the dragons. 😁
Still a fun fantasy read with her signature cliffhanger ending.
#2025ReadingBracket Thank you @CSeydel for the amazing template! I had so many 5 star reads this month:
Four Ruined Realms
Mistborn
Dreams Lie Beneath
But of course my favorite of the month had to go to Onyx Storm (with Mistborn taking one of my wildcard spots already!) Onyx just gave me all the feels and I‘m upset we have to wait another year to see what happens next.
Created a Tome account today. Have no idea how to use it, but if you‘re there let‘s follow each other! #tome https://tomebooks.com/user/jen_hayes7
I just finished my re-read of the first 2 over the last week, because I remembered NOTHING. So, let‘s do this!
