Always been curious about these books, but I just didn‘t know if they were going to be my cup of tea…
Today, I was given the opportunity to receive the whole series 😱 plus her upcoming release and I jumped at the chance! 🤗🥹

I finally dipped my toe into the world of Finlay Donovan and loved it!
Y‘alllllll this was the best! Seriously so funny, with a great mystery thrown in. Finlay and Vero are totally friend goals 🙌🏻 #readyourkindle
Yes, this series is over the top, but if you are willing to embrace the ridiculousness, it‘s so much fun! I think of Finlay as the Lucy Ricardo of cozy mysteries…always getting herself into wacky situations. She‘s a great character though, as is her sidekick, Vero!

The Finlay Donovan is for August bookclub. Having a fab reading week - these four finished all in the past few days. It was bugging me to be behind on my goal for the year!
I‘m definitely in the minority on bailing on this so don‘t let it deter you. I just couldn‘t get into the story and I didn‘t connect with any of the characters to keep my interest going #HailtheBail
This was so much fun! The relationship between Finley and her nanny/partner-in-crime/friend Vero is a highlight of the book! Good mystery, interesting, relatable characters, and humor - it really worked for me! I'm happy to have found a new series to read!
Finished this one today, so that catches me up!
A single mom turned into an accidental hitwoman – Finlay Donovan Is Killing It is a novel you won't be able to put down! 🔍✨
A story that is both suspenseful and hilarious, with a protagonist who feels real and endearing. 😍
A 5⭐read for all cozy mystery fanatics.

I loved this book so much. It was so much fun. It definitely had Stephanie Plum vibes to it which I really enjoyed. There was mystery, romance, friendship and humor. I just enjoyed the characters and the story so much. It was a light read that I couldn‘t put down and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
First completed read of the year did NOT disappoint.
Stressed out mom riding the hot mess express, throw in a murder mystery.
Frustrations & triumphs of life abound in this witty, heartfelt & fast-paced read.

Finlay Donovan is just trying to write another book so she can pay her bills and take care of her kids. But she finds herself in the most ridiculous of circumstances, and has to solve a mystery or get blamed for it herself. With her kids' trusty nanny Vero by her side, they become quite the pair of detectives.

The first book in this series was very funny and entertaining. Let's see how the sequel will be.
I am so glad I finally picked this up at the suggestion of a fellow bookish buddy! This was hilarious, cozy, and downright fun with just the right touch of romance. I will definitely be continuing this series!
3.5 ⭐️
I think I had too high of expectations based on all the 5 star reviews as it wasn‘t really a 5 star book in my opinion. Finlay Donovan Is Killing It was an easy, quick read with a really good ending and some great characters. But I think I missed the charm and comedic relief that so many others enjoyed. #LitsyLoveReads
Thanks for the book @Mommamanzi !! I can‘t wait to read it!! #cbbc
Just got home from a Mediterranean cruise. We had stops in Italy and Croatia, and we browsed several bookstores along the way. Decided my traveling abroad “thing” is going to be picking up a book I loved in the countries I travelled to. Here is Wicked Beauty by Katee Robert in Italian (that cover 😍) and Finlay Donovan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano in Croatian.
Book #58
4/5
This novel is kind of how Bridget Jones Diary would be if you added in some Murders and detective work. Good read. 😊
Implausible and crazy in the best kind of way. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another vacation read 🏖 and was good. I had a good time with this one ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was SO much fun! I probably never would have picked it up if not for a recommendation from a coworker, but I‘m really glad I did.
Could have been productive today, but I had to find out how this book ended! Definitely enjoyed the mystery, humor, & characters, I guess I now have another series to keep up with.
Thanks so much to my #LitsyLove family for this wonderful surprise mail! I can't wait to read this book, and I love this coffee flavor! Thanks so much for thinking of me! 💙
Thanks so much for the surprise bookmail, Misty!! I've been looking forward to reading this because I really liked Elle Cosimano's Nearly Gone. Thanks so much for thinking of me, my sweet friend! 💗 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

This made the perfect book for my commute. I knew I would finish it on the way home from work today so I preemptively borrowed the next two before heading out. Finlay‘s life is a dumpster fire and you can‘t help but root for her while at the same time loving the flames.
I think most of you know the premise of this story. Finlay is talking with her editor about her novel and someone heard words like contract, kill him, payment, and thought they were talking about a hitperson and now wants to hire Finlay. This is an absurd, unrealistic contemporary adult cozy mystery for me. So funny. I was laughing on all the time. It was good after all my busy month and after serious books. This is for laugh. Don‘t expect more ⬇️
I listened to this one on audio. At first I wasn‘t sure about all the different voices the book narrator was using but about halfway through I was hooked. I don‘t read a whole lot of fiction but I liked this one. It was an interesting story & funny at times. I‘ve already checked out the next one from the library (via Libby/audio). Definitely looking forward to reading the rest in the series. #bookspin
I had heard mixed things and picked this up as a second attempt at filling my cozy mystery reading challenge. I did not like the dynamic between the characters at all. I know people said you had to suspend your belief for this book, but that encompassed too much for me. I returned it to my tbr and hope it speaks to me at a different time and mood.
When all the library holds come in at the same time 😂
This is a good one! It isn‘t like any murder mystery that I‘ve read. I‘ve already recommended it to my mother who‘s a huge fan of the genre. The main character reminds me of my mother. Someone who kinda falls into unusual situations and always seems to make the best of them in the most hilarious and interesting ways. Being around people like that you‘re always thinking ‘what‘s next?‘ 😂I love Finlay and was completely absorbed by her story.
1. Season? Fall
Snack? I usually don‘t eat while reading, but I do like some pretzels
Color? Darker Green
Flower? Lilly of the Valley
Book Setting? Modern day tbh
Beverage? Coffee
Game? Pokemon to keep it easy- but 90‘s platformers have my heart
2. Tagged! Alongside Conjure Women and Town of Babylon
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this it was an easy fast read. Not sure if the antics will be something I would want to read again and again. The comparisons to Stephanie Plum I totally agree with.
This book was surprisingly wonderful. I picked it up on a whim and am so glad that I did. It felt reminiscent of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series with the whacky characters and crazy adventures. I really liked Finlay's relationship with her nanny/business partner. Definitely looking forward to reading more in this series.
The premise (novelist and exhausted mother is mistaken for a contract killer) sounded so fun, but the book is just fine. The tone is breezy but I didn‘t find it funny, and I found Finlay really irritating. It was mildly entertaining. I just wish it had been funnier and that Finlay hadn‘t come across as being so mean as she did to me.
I picked this up from #MountTBR after reading @DGRachel's review. I couldn't put it down and was grumpy when I had to.
Finlay Donovan is a writer, divorcee, single mum and her life seems to be falling apart. Then a woman at the next table overhears her conversation with her agent and sees the content of her bag and comes to the wrong-right conclusion that Finlay might be the perfect killer for hire. Hands-on research for her new novel?
⬇️
A great book, very funny at moments.
Read for reading challenges.
5/5
Delightful! Finlay Donovan, struggling author, divorcee, and single mom is in breach of her latest book contract. An overheard conversation with her agent in a Panera leads to a misunderstanding that turns Finlay‘s life upside down as she takes on a new roll as a reluctant contract killer. Mostly unbelievable, absolutely hysterical, and completely entertaining, I can‘t wait to read more of Finlay‘s adventures.
Well, that was over the top fun. Any book that makes me LOL gets 5 🌟 from me. Down and out mystery writing mother of two accidentally becomes a hitman. It was ridiculous fun and just what i needed.
This week‘s #SouperSunday recipe came from the NYT Cooking section - Chickpea Harissa Soup. Listened to the first few chapters of the tagged while cooking and eating…the perfect combo! 🔪😂
Credit to @TheBookHippie for inspiring my weekly meal prep plans! 🥣
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Can we please cease the “First-Name-Last-Name-is-Verbing-Noun” and “The-Adjective-Noun-of-First-Name-Last-Name” freaking book title trend?? Enough is enough. 😂 But, I digress. It took a minute for this to grow on me, but a struggling author who accidentally becomes a hit woman is sneakily funny and entertaining. I‘ll definitely continue this fun series!
