It‘s been a long time since I‘ve done #BookSpin. I‘m looking forward to getting back into it this year.

Catching up again lol. May‘s top book was The Good, The Bad, The Aunties and June was Chain Gang All-Stars, which came in second for 2024 for me.
Day 3 brings you my book of the year, As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow. This book brought out the feels and has stuck with me for a long time. #12BooksOf2024 @Andrew65
I‘m a day late, but here is my January and February favorite books. Angeline Boulay continues to blow me away with her books and after reading Butcher and Blackbird I discovered I enjoy dark romance (though I would like less sexytimes, more dark stuff). #12Booksof2024
I could have done a lot of other things with this money but I‘ve been wanting to get this tattoo for a long time and just never made time for it before today. I‘m in love!❤️
The addition of the white to give it some sparkle was the perfect suggestion.
I picked this up on a whim bc I needed a book with a pink and green cover. This was a ridiculous and fun look at a very affluent public elementary school PTA. While I work at a normal school with a normal PTA, I can absolutely see this playing out with this level of shenanigans with the affluent moms who think that their kid is “normal” bc they attend a public school as they bougie it up.
This book was SO MUCH FUN!! The only thing I didn‘t like were the sexytimes. I‘d really like someone to write a dark romantic comedy, with just regular vanilla sexytimes.
I really enjoyed this! Cute and fun with a side of feelings.
First 2024 challenge complete!
I liked it, but it was way too slow for me. I‘m a girl that likes a faster pace.
What a wild ride!! Loved the way this one ended and that a certain someone got what they deserved.
I wanted to like this so much, it‘s just my kind of fiction. But her choices were so bad, and she kept repeating them and I just couldn‘t handle it anymore.
I liked this one, but I don‘t know that I‘ll continue the trilogy. Thankfully it had a complete ending. It was just too slow of a read for me.
This one took an unexpected turn, but I liked the mystery and boy was it engaging.
Pretty good. The pretending/lying got a bit much at times, but it was cute.
Started off good, but then meandered too much. Then we figured out everything and there was still an hour left in the audiobook which wasn‘t necessary at all.
I am currently in the middle of three print books, which is not my normal vibe. I‘m buddy reading Kamala Harris book with a coworker, started A Sorceress Comes to Call for funsies and I agreed to take a professional development book study to support one of new to the building teachers
I know this sounds terrible but this kind of thing isn‘t really my jam and I am absolutely dreading it, but hopefully I get a few good things to use out of it.
Fast paced fantasy read. Already ordered the next one. :)
Glitter spewing pink dragons. That is all you need to know.
I enjoyed this one more than the first. I liked that it wasn‘t as much WTF as wtf.
I know a lot of people didn‘t like Lightlark, but I did and I enjoyed this one just as much, can‘t wait for the conclusion in November.
Best of Summer 2024
The two on the left were 5 star reads, the rest were 4.5.
Biggest surprise was how much I got from Paris Hilton‘s memoir, it was not at all what I was expecting. Second biggest surprise was A Rover of Golden Bones. I‘m currently in my fantasy era and this was just sucked me in and wouldn‘t let go.
Hello… it‘s me…
It‘s been more than a hot minute since I posted, kind of fell out of the habit this summer. I did have a wonderful summer of reading. Here‘s a round up of August. I‘ll post about a few of my favorite summer reads shortly.
I‘ve been terrible about sharing what I‘ve been reading on here so here is what I‘ve currently read in July. The highlight of the month so far is A River of Golden Bones, with Done and Dusted in second.
Definitely a dip when family was visiting but otherwise a fabulous month!
June‘s books, courtesy of StoryGraph and their new amazing wrap up template. Best of the month was Chain Gang All Stars with The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy a close second.
I really enjoyed revisiting this childhood favorite with my niece!
Meh. Started off ok, but then took a wild turn and I didn‘t care for it.
Definitely a pic, thought it was not quite what I was expecting. It‘s fiction, but felt like true crime, not a thriller.
May in Review.
Pretty solid reading month, which is a surprise as May is usually a low month for me. The best of the month was The Silence of Monsters and Rainbow Black.
Heartwarming and beautiful story of family and how people come together.
Enjoyable and fun. Ending got wrapped up a bit quick for my liking, but that‘s ok.
Descent thriller, the Antarctica setting was fascinating.
So much emotion packed into this book, almost got me teary eyed!
Wonderfully written and a beautiful tale.
Jay Crownover is one of my favorite authors and she did not disappoint in this wild soap opera style ride.
Expiration dates was an unexpected delight for me. I really loved the different things (fate vs choice) that is brought up for discussion, especially at the end. It never once occurred to me that the thing that happened at the end would have been done, but it does make sense and I'm glad it happened because Daphne needed the wake up call. I loved how it ended and it was the warm fuzzy book I needed to read right now.
Ridiculous hijinks but so much fun. Perfect read for the end of the school year.
