#25Alive!

TBH, I changed my mind multiple times today about my pick for my favorite book of 2025. I read SO MANY great books this year (James, What Moves the Dead & Zorrie were just a few of the contenders) but as I said when I picked it as my December #12BooksOf2024 this book just came off my #BOTM TBR at the last minute & stole my heart. Touching, about loss, grief & regrets—it still made me smile & feel uplifted. It‘s my #FaveBk24 💙💐💙

TheBookHippie I adored this book. On my top ten in 2023. 1mo

Pickpick

10th book finished for #Read2025 #JumpStart2025 @DieAReader @LizPixie

As always the Maisie Dobbs series is excellent, & this one kept up the same high standard. This one is set at the outbreak of WWII. As always a lot of intrigue, & felt it covered the evacuation theme well. The murder mystery involves people who came to England from Belgium in WWI.

2nd book read for #Read12Booksof2024 based on the 50 books I added to my TBR from #12Booksof2024

Andrew65 Thanks to @kspenmoll for nominating this book, and reminding me I needed to get back to this series. #SeriesLove2025. @TheSpineView (edited) 1mo
TheSpineView 10 books already! Way to go! 1mo
Lizpixie Well done! I‘m reading consistently but swapping between books & not finishing them yet. So on page count I‘m doing well, but not so much with books finished.🤷🏻‍♀️ 1mo

Pickpick

6th book finished for #Read2025 and #JumpStart2025 @DieAReader @LizPixie

This was a very good read, and a good suspense book, and good use of Podcasts throughout. This meant it leant itself very well to the audiobook format, which was narrated well. Tension kept up to the end, and some good twists as the story progressed. Definitely strongly recommended.

Andrew65 1/50 books read for #Read12Booksof2024

Thanks to @TorieStorieS and @BarkingMadRead for nominating this book for #12Booksof2024

Pickpick

So much love for this book during #12Booksof2024 that I had to find out for myself!

It‘s the quiet story of Zorrie, a woman living in Indiana in the 20th century. Her life is a bittersweet one but she makes the most of it in her own way.

I kept waiting for something to happen during the first half, then surrendered to the gorgeous writing style and rhythm during the second half. That turned out to be a good idea! A pick for sure.

Texreader Oh that‘s so cool! I‘ve got it on my tbr for the #letterZ for #litsyatoz 1mo
Librarybelle I‘m so glad you liked this! It‘s a beautifully written story that kind of meanders through Zorrie‘s life. 1mo

Just started the first of the many books Littens nominated during #12Booksof2024.

Thanks to @BarkingMadRead & @TorieStorieS for nominating this.

Each month I am aiming to read 3 or 4 of the books that were nominated, and this is the first. Altogether I added 50 books to my TBR from #12Booksof2024 #Read12Booksof2024

I am reading this via audiobook, & looks like it lends itself to this format.

TorieStorieS What a fun goal!! 1mo
Andrew65 @TorieStorieS Just thought I do these posts each year and add loads to my TBR but not proactive enough in getting to the books recommended. Showed up many of the books recommended last year I added but hadn‘t got to. Ideally will aim to get to one a week. I want to read more standalones as well this year. 1mo
DieAReader @Andrew65 🤗💜I love that you‘re doing this!! 1mo

Bluebird Awesome goal! I love how you found a way to get to your high priority TBR books! 1mo
@Margot78 that‘s an ambitious and exciting goal! Audiobooks can bring stories to life in a unique way, and it sounds like this one is a great fit for the format.

Andrew65 @Bluebird @Margot78 Thamks, let‘s see how close I get to that goal by the end of the year. 😊 1mo

Day 10 - 12

Day 10: Deader Than A Wet Hen by Ella Duke
Day 11: Big Little Spies by Krista Davis
Day 12: Babylonia by Costanza Casati (also my favorite of the year)

Sorry I didn't keep up on days, but I was sick, and my brother was diagnosed with brain cancer in November. He had 3 tumors. They removed the 2 biggest ones and are doing radiation on the smallest.

#12booksof2024 @Andrew65

Andrew65 So sorry to hear about that, sending positive thoughts and best wishes to the both of you ♥️ Definitely no need to apologise.

Thanks for taking part, and look forward to seeing you for #12Booksof2024 later this year. Been great to see everyone‘s posts. 🥰

TierraWilliams243 Thank you for sharing your reading journey, and I‘m so sorry to hear about your brother's diagnosis. Sending you and your family strength during such a difficult time. As for the books, it sounds like you've had some really compelling reads! Babylonia especially seems to have made a strong impact on you—it's always great when a book resonates that deeply. Wishing you a speedy recovery, and I hope the rest of the books you dive into this year bring 1mo
