I picked this book because I needed lace in the #ISpyBingo for January. Nora Roberts is one of my favorite authors, and she never disappoints. Romance and inheritance with ghosts. Another cozy mystery that just didn't do it for me. However, this was #12 in a series that I'd never read, & I imagine that I would have enjoyed it much more had I been invested for that long. I did love that the crochet patterns for important items in the plot were included!

Read for #AuldLangSpine 2nd book from @JacqMac ‘s list, I really enjoyed this short story, finshed this week. I read & loved A Man Called Ove when it came out but for some reason let Blackman get away from me. This story about Lucas who just wants to be left alone made me laugh out loud several times although I did identify with him a bit too much for comfort (like with his views on Pad Thai & people dropping by)! 😆

I enjoyed the artwork in this version of the classic fairy tale. I went back & read the Grimm‘s version online to see the gentling down in the modern versions (like princes being banished rather than beheaded for not discovering the mystery). A quick & nostalgic read. 💛

Great #SundayBuddyRead selection to kick off 2025. I read a lot of WWII books, but this one is from the perspective of a young American woman, working for her uncle at the Grand Hotel in the south of France at the eve of the war & the 1939 Cannes Film Festival. Loved the glimpses of real classic film (& literary) stars of the times & the tense & action-packed story. Didn‘t love the ending, but overall a really good read.
