105/100 I'm happy to say that this was as good, if not better, than the first volume. We learn more about the various gods, their relationships with each other, and how they relate to humanity. I continue to be in awe of Jamie McKelvie's artwork, it's so beautiful and sometimes so brutal. The ending of this was so sad, after everything the MC had been through. I understand why it happened but I didn't want this ending. Another 5 🌟 read

104/100 I waited too long to read this, it was amazing!! I think it's the best graphic novel series I've read since Saga. Outstanding artwork and a deeply involving mystery. Every 90 years, 12 gods are reborn, but they only live for 2 years then they pass away for another 90 years. Really interesting character development and a mystery that had me flipping the pages as fast as I could to see where it was going. The ending was shocking, but it ⬇️

RamsFan1963 fit the story perfectly, and set up the next mystery to be solved. 5 🌟 read #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025 9h
Karisa Sounds fantastic! I love Saga too. 😊 9h

Missing in Death | J D Robb

Aboard the Staten Island ferry a scene of horror awaits: a public bathroom covered with blood, a missing tourist, & a killer who seems to have disappeared into thin air. Det Lt Eve Dallas is called in to work the scene & find the missing tourist - is she the victim or did she just see something she shouldn't have?

OutsmartYourShelf This was a great quick read, & it had a wonderfully involved plot for a short story of under 100 pages. Even enough room for a little friendly snark between Dallas & Peabody. 4.5🌟

Cute fluff, what I expect from this series. I take issue with the title though - they are not foes. They had a competitive and slightly annoying relationship in high school, but they almost immediately decide to be friends when Remy moves back to town lol. The romance was simple and sweet. I like when demi rep is included
I started my Christmas reading early, finished this before Thanksgiving 🤭

PuddleJumper Contemporary romance can't really do enemies to lovers. It's usually mild dislike to lovers 2d
peanutnine @PuddleJumper lol so true. This was tame even by those standards 😅 2d

I'm really enjoying Tommy & Tuppence! I was surprised by the long time gap from their first adventure but glad they are still happily married, although a bit bored. The detective agency was such a fun way for them to spend their time & great for the short story format here. I admit, most of the references to famous detectives went over my head as I'm not familiar with most of them. But it didn't hinder my understanding or enjoyment

Another excellent addition to the cold case expert - Karen Pirie series.

I love cold case detective stories, I love how different the procedurals are and how new evinced are discovered.
Val does an amazing job with these cases from the past; she brings an urgency to them that makes you really care about the outcome.

👇🏼 continue 👇🏼

Enchanted_Bibliophile Karen and her team feels like old friends, and what happens in their lives feel just as important to me as the crimes they're investing. So I'm always rooting for their personal growth and relationships; and in this one Jason really had exceptional growth, in both personal and work related areas. Can't help feeling proud of him.

Now it's the long wait for the next one

I put off reading this book for a long time because I figured it would be too sad. But #QueerBC made me pick it up & I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Yes, there are heavy themes of death & grief, and the title doesn't lie. But overall the feeling of hope prevails. I loved the found family elements, and the way smaller interconnected stories were weaved throughout showing how our lives impact the world around us in ways we don't realize

peanutnine This was my November #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks #QueerBC @PuddleJumper I'll probably read the others in this series eventually #SeriesLove2025 3d
