Mike Bowditch is a Maine Game Warden who over explains, gets on the last nerve of hus superiors, and loves his jib, though sometimes he dies fet frustrated. The first 3 deal with Mike's mentor, Charley Steven's. The others deal with Mike from when he was a younger Game Warden, with the last one being a present one in the series.

Stuart Woods passed away in 2022 & Battles has done a great job taking over the two series.

pickI read this in 2016. I love Harlan Coben & his books. When I saw that Nobody‘s Fool was a sequel to this I couldn‘t figure out where Coben would be taking us. Soooo, I reread this so I can go into Nobody‘s Fool with it fresh in my mind.

Perhaps I should have read the series in publication order instead of chronological order but this is the first book chronologically. I still enjoyed it very much and I look forward to reading the series. Recommended.

pickI‘ve finished my May #DoubleSpin book.
I loved the Cerulean Sea duology. So when my nephew asked me if I‘d read book 1 in Klune‘s YA series, I happily agreed.
It‘s not on the same level as Cerulean but it still had great moments that made me feel the story. I laughed and I felt the characters‘ pain and sadness.
My nephew LOVED it btw. 🏳️🌈

so-so47/100 I've seen a couple of reviews that said they liked the shorter version, more novella than novel, as opposed to the first two longer stories. I disagree, I don't feel the author had the space to adequately flesh out his characters or product a compelling mystery. I am still enjoying the series, and I'll read it if a fourth one is published, but I hope its given more space to develop next time. 3 ⭐⭐⭐💫 #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025
