The ABC Murders (Poirot) | Agatha Christie

102/100 I've had the print version of this on my TBR for years, but I chose the audiobook instead, mainly because I was curious to hear Peter Dinklage's version of Poirot. He does a very good job as Poirot, showing both his intelligence, his dogged determination, and the love he has for his friend Captain Hastings. I hope there will be more Poirot adventures with Peter Dinklage. 4/5 ⭐ #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

I was able to get the Libby audiobook of this 8th book in the Secret, Book & Scone Society cozy mystery series right as it came out.🏆 I really love the MC, Nora & her bookstore & close knit group of friends who are just as much her family. In this one, a psychic is murder after giving a book talk & while doing readings in the store & Nora & the crew are on the case. This book feels a bit transitional for some of the ⬇️

DebinHawaii … characters, including Nora & I‘m hoping the series will continue. I‘ll definitely be here for it. I mostly read these in ebook form but I liked the narration well enough & it was a good car/run errands book to dip back into. 2d
BethM I got stuck at the book where they introduced the new female LEO that was horrible. 1d

Every month I read the book for #EBBR & then don‘t write down my results & return it to the library before I get around to reviewing it! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Anyway, I think I was only somewhat successful in solving the mysteries in this one but who knows?! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I didn‘t remember them from childhood so I may have missed this one, #10 in the series. It gets a soft pick as they mostly all do.

Ruthiella I sometimes weirdly do remember the occasional solution to a case from childhood. But only with Encyclopedia. With Nancy Drew, I have absolutely no memory. 😅 2d
DebinHawaii @Ruthiella I usually remember some of them but this book I didn‘t & I‘m hit or miss with Nanners! 😆 2d

Finished last weekend for #BobWhiteBuddies Book 19 has summer holidays starting & a new mystery or mysteries for Trixie & the gang to solve. This one stays close to home with the Bob-Whites helping out a neighbor whose garden business is being sabotaged. There‘s also stolen mail & of all things ***BIG spoiler alert*** a hidden marijuana field & it made me laugh that when it is burnt to hide the evidence, the gang ⬇️

DebinHawaii … comes home smelling of it & people start freaking out. Like the Bob-Whites would ever smoke pot!?! 😂 Also, & I say this with love, does Dan know EVERY low-life criminal in NYC & how do they all end up in Sleepyside?!? But anyway, I don‘t remember this one sticking out to me growing up but it was good. I do like seeing Dan involved in the stories. He needs less work & more mystery “fun.” (edited) 2d

Framed in Death | J. D. Robb

Pickpick

The In Death Series is probably my favorite series out there. Framed in Death is the 61st book in the series. When I read this series, I feel like I'm visiting old friends. Eve Dallas has grown so much since the first book. J D Robb has developed each character amazingly. Not only the MC's but the other characters as well.

Someone is killing and dressing the victims as paintings from some of the masters of art. Eve is tasked with ⬇️

MonicaLoves2Read ⬆️ finding the killer. I like the fact that Eve dreams of the victims in these books. As she dreams she walks in the footsteps of the killer.

This is a futuristic suspense police procedural book. It can be read as a standalone, but you won't know how all the characters have changed and interacted with each other throughout this series.

I've been meaning to read this series, so with the Heated Rivalry tv show airing this month, it was the perfect time to start. I really enjoyed Scott and Kip's story. A chance meeting at the smoothie shop where Kip works leads to a secret romance between the two men. Poor Scott wrestles with his identity as a closeted gay hockey player and Kip won't stay a secret forever. I loved their chemistry together

Just finished my #ThematicCozies November pick for #Food & I quite enjoyed this second book in the An American in Paris mystery series. Tabitha is back to learning cooking from her best friend Julia Child & solving mysteries. In this one 2 chefs are murdered by drinking poisoned rare wines. I have a fascination for the Paris catacombs & Post-WWII France & between that & the delicious food mentioned (all the butter & ⬇️

DebinHawaii … & cream favored by Julia) that made me hungry, I was Googling frequently throughout. (Mushrooms grown in the catacombs? Yes, please! https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/paris-catacomb-mushrooms ) The MC‘s continual reference to her “internal imp” gets on my nerves a little but I‘m willing to overlook it for the food descriptions & time with Julia Child.
