Happy Halloween 🎃!!

So remember last #bookhaul post I made when I said I'd slow down on book buying cause I've acquired more than I've read so far this year? Yeah, me neither apparently 🙃
Excited for these, especially A Suitable Boy! I'm planning to start it on new year's (or close to, depending on when I finish whatever else I'm reading). It'll be my chunkster for 2026.

I‘ve had a huge #bookhaul recently! Many library holds as well as the middle ones I picked up at a deep discount.
The only one I‘ve finished is the King (tagged). I desperately wanted to LOVE it, but the last section‘s emotional manipulation felt fake to me, which was disappointing after such a strong start. I‘m still in a rough recovery so YMMV. Still worth reading though! (It was 4⭐️ instead of 5⭐️.) Personal update ⬇️

I've been wanting to re-read the Alice books for a while, and perhaps doing this new jigsaw will be the impetus I need! 🐰🧩
What I intend to be my last #BookHaul 📚 of October consists of two more volumes in Honford Star press's Lovecraft Reanimated series of Korean authors' takes on the Cthulhu Mythos 🐙, and a travel memoir by an Argentinian writer visiting Patagonian ghost towns 👻 🏚️

#bookhaul #indiebookstore
📚 Seven Social Movements That Changed America by Linda Gordon - Impulse Buy
📚 Stamped From the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi - on #mounttbr
📚 Women Who Run With Wolves - an easier to read used copy for $10
📚 The Shadow of Quetzalcoatl by Merilee Grindle - Impulse Buy
📚 Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman - because 3 copies is not enough and it's pretty
📚 We'moon 2026 calendar - because I get it every year

#bookhaul! Yes, again 🙈
They were all on sale and I had a gift card, but I don't need to defend myself here, right?
That said, I've acquired more this year than I've read so far, so I think I'll slow down a bit. Not going so far as to say I'm on a book buying ban though. Let's not get carried away!

I‘m on a mini-vacation in a cute little tourist town so naturally I had to patronize the local bookstore. I was so excited to see Witches, Midwives & Nurses on display that I snatched it up hard enough to knock over the bracket holding it up 😅 #bookhaul

Bk4 of my recent #bookhaul is another crime thriller, this one‘s the latest Riley Sager. I‘ve enjoyed their other books & this looks promising. It‘s a very similar premise to Murder On The Orient Express by Dame Agatha, it‘s even set in the same time period. The major difference being it‘s set in America not Europe & it‘s one person wanting revenge not the whole train. Can‘t wait to see if it‘s anywhere near as good as Orient Express!
