I had a complicated relationship with this and for a while was just reading because a friend recommended it. It took too long for the author to invite me into the story (2 hours), I hated how many sections there were before chapter 1, and a lot of stuff felt unnecessary in the begging. After about 10 hours I did start enjoying things and looking forward to what happened next. I wish the women had more page time or there were more women leads.

Sorry, life got busy and I fell off posting again, but I'm back for some post holiday fun!

Goodreads Fall Challenge is DONE!

I'm glad I knew this book was less cosy than the others going in - I was able to really relax into it and enjoy Fern's journey.

I just finished Brigands & Breadknives (loved it!), and that means I've finished the Goodreads Challenge (overall & finished the Fall component). Yay!

This is the progress I made in this book the night before Christmas Eve. I‘m not reading any of this book tonight. I‘m tired. I need to go to bed so I can get up in the morning. My mom‘s boyfriend, my brother and sister in law are coming over to open presents and eat lunch. My mom and her boyfriend will be making Picadillo (a Mexican soup we eat for lunch on Christmas Day every year).

The Witcher for some, the little mole for others 😁
I managed to read 17 books this year instead of the usual 50. I wonder why 🤔😅
This book's end was awesome.
