So exciting! Great to be back in this world. It was interesting that this new part of the series was still set in the same academic year as the previous one. Everything that happened before, was only a few weeks ago. Most series in a school setting have all the events happening and finishing in one year, so this was actually a nice change!
Loved Andarna, loved the squad, loved how Violet grew. I want to read all the other parts right now, please!

Finally finished this one.

Jordan has a good start and a good end but the middle is just so boring.

One of my #bookspin #doublespin picks from March

repost for @JacqMac:

My book arrived yesterday. After I left my house to visit my dad for a few days. Just three hours away. 🙄I did manage to get an ebook copy from the library to hold me over. It‘s a big one! I have decided to keep it divided by parts. I know that the last part is very short, but I think leaving it as is will give people time to catch-up. Or to read other things for a bit. But I‘m always open to suggestions.

I loved this one. I especially loved the humor and sarcasm that went along with the sad bits. And it was so unpredictable. He kept me guessing until the very end. I can‘t wait to hear what you all think. #CosmereBuddyRead

Meshell1313 I loved this one and the ending! Lightsong‘s storyline was my favorite and his ending I thought was perfection. I am also pleased with Vivenna and Vasher‘s ending kind of walking off together to who knows where- but you know she can‘t ever go back to her old life. 3d
JacqMac @Meshell1313 This one might be my favorite so far. I loved the ending, too. I agree Lightsong‘s whole storyline was absolute perfection. 3d
Andrew65 I have finally caught up, yee haw!!!
I agree with you both @meshell1313 and @jacqmac this was an excellent book and my favourite so far. I loved the very feel of it from the get go. As well as Lightsong and his story, I really enjoyed the moments between Siri and Susebron, and their developing relationship. I‘m really not ready to let these characters go.

I can't believe it took me so long to read this! It was absolutely wonderful! Classic Sanderson - complex characters, a totally unique magic system, lots of action and twists, and a good smattering of humor! 💕📚

I love Murderbot, but considering the Litsy rating I was worried about this one. Bri at PRB recommended this on IBD, so I bit the bullet. I loved this. I found myself completely immersed in this world, able to block out the chaos of current events, and I appreciated the escape. I enjoyed the world building via dual timelines. I loved the characters and would read a sequel without hesitation.

Ruthiella Good to know. I‘ve only read (so far) Murderbot. But I do want to try Wells‘ other books. 4d
peanutnine Loved this one! Great fantasy world. I'm excited for the sequel later this year! 4d

This is a very soft pick. The plot was intriguing, and I did want to know how it ended so that kept me going. But there were some slow parts and scenes I found so unnecessary, to the point where I even contemplated bailing at times. There were also some plot holes and typos I found. Some resolutions seemed way too easy, certain ill-behaved characters just suddenly changing their ways after a good talking to. Continued ⬇️

jen_the_scribe However, I really liked the characters and the story grew more interesting and exciting toward the end. I had been wanting to read something from this author for a while, so I went with his debut novel. But you can clearly tell this was his first. I‘ll still give his other works a try eventually because it was a good story in the end. 5d

Another great book from Sanderson. The magical system based on colour was super neat, and the ending chapter provides good lore. I liked Siri and Vivenna as well as Lightsong, who makes this book have a bit more levity than the Mistborn trilogy (which is not unfunny, just more serious).
