It‘s important to end this year on a positive note! After a year of reading not that many masterpieces, The Raven Scholar is a breath of fresh air. Very good worldbuilding, a protagonist who is very different from all the Violet‘s, Feyre‘s and Wren‘s out there, and a bunch of exciting twists! If you like #fantasy that‘s imaginative but not too complicated, check this out.

I may finish one more book tonight before the clock strikes midnight but I can already tell it wouldn't have beaten this months top pick. My top read of 2025 was The Will of the Many so now I really need to get on and read the sequel to see if it can sustain the momentum of the first. Looking back at the year I think my weakest reading month was October but still definitely read some solid books in 2025.

The coolest thing about this fantasy was the animal totems that the scholars aligned with. I really enjoyed Sol the raven.

Somewhere I saw that this was a stand alone, and I guess technically it can stand alone, but it‘s obvious it will be getting a sequel, it‘s very much set up for one at the end.

My June Favourite: Assassin's Quest ☣️🐉

The first two books in this series were an epic build-up to this masterful conclusion, tying everything together and giving that over all satisfying ending.
