I don‘t know why, but I already like this book better than the last one. And just let me say poor Kaladin. Im very interested to see how this works out for him.

Starts a little slow - but the last 200 Pages just flew away. Predictable but very readable. A little spice, but not very much and egen it ends you are hooked on book number two in the Series

I really enjoyed this. Aside from the A+ story, there's a running theme questioning what justice is and who gets to decide and the possibility that there isn't a single answer. Very glad the second book is out soon. I have so many questions.

I despise the cover art change tho.

I figured it was a good time to do my big, complicated Hallowe‘en puzzle, and to finish the Malazan Book of the Fallen. It seems like all of us who‘re listening to the series this year did the penultimate book said, “Yeah, I need a break.” It‘s remained available to borrow for the last month, and no one‘s requested it in the couple days since I got it. Since there‘s no run on the grand finale, I‘ll probably intersperse other books every 25% or so.

TheBookHippie I love a good puzzle! 5d
xicanti @TheBookHippie this one‘s so much fun I‘ve done it twice. 5d
TheBookHippie @xicanti I do that too! 5d

This had an innocent fairy tale feel with a Wizard of Oz vibe. I liked it, it felt like a heroine‘s journey mixed with a coming of age story on a different planet. Could be YA option.

Thank goodness for Kindle, which obviated my having to bench-press this 1280 page tome.
Truly, I don't know what my excuse was for not picking it up before now.
The series (two trilogies?) is an easy yet intelligent, entertaining read without ever being lightweight. I got wholly engrossed in it, with my favourite volume being "Tehanu" (possibly because I'm a middle-aged woman).
Wonderful book: brilliant author.

sarahbarnes Wow, that‘s an accomplishment! 📕 7d
Caroline2 Oh I absolutely loved the first book in the series. Sounds like I need to crack on with the rest of em. 👍 6d

This was a fun short book in the Cosmere series. With a ghost ship mentioned in the description, I was sold on this automatically, and the ocean journey was a hit as well. Fans of the Lopen will appreciate his having a bigger role here, and it was great to follow Rysn as a protagonist. I had to think for a bit about when we last saw her, but more alert Cosmere readers will pick up on it more quickly than I did. Overall, well done!

⭐️4/5
Engaging, fantasy story of a girl on the run. She ends up traveling with a band of mercenaries who demand truth while she has lived her life holding secrets close. 3rd person, multiple POV. Set up for the sequel which I‘ll read but not rushing to grab.

Started this #audiobook today! Getting my Stormlight Archive listening on! This 2.5 book is only 6.5 hours long - much more manageable than the chunkster novels of the series!
