I just realized I have not been posting books as I read- no clue how that happened!!! I had a hard time getting into this book- and for the first half would have considered it a so-so, but as parts came together I began to enjoy it more and by the end was satisfied with the direction it went in. This is the first of a duology- and I would love to hear other thoughts/discuss with anyone else who read it.

lil1inblue I constantly forget to post reviews. 🫠 I swear I'm reading! 😅 3h

JenniferEgnor I‘m behind on my reviews too. I‘m not sure if I feel pulled to read this book yet but the cover is absolutely gorgeous and I love the title too. 40m
Chrissyreadit @DGRachel Yes!!! I loved Bartholemew and did not see the twist at all!!! 14m
Chrissyreadit @JenniferEgnor I would not rush to read it until the second book comes out in a way- It is very similar in style to Naomi Novak. I think i loved the authors other books from the beginning. BUT the last 25% completely redeemed it for me. 11m

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I honestly wasn‘t expecting to give “The Road of Bones” a fourth star, however 2/3rds of the way through the character development and plot took a turn that peaked my interest and has me looking forward to reading its sequel. There were a couple plot twists that I saw coming, however I admit that there were still a couple that caught me by surprise.

I‘m a little bit behind. I was traveling all weekend. I had hoped that would give me more reading time, but I had a lot less. I had an absolutely fantastic time though. My daughter and I flew to Toronto to see Stevie Nicks. There was a lot of exploring and eating and dancing and we even got tattoos. But there wasn‘t much reading. I have about 10 chapters left, then I‘ll be back to see what you all thought.

JacqMac @Meshell1313 I finished last night. Ask away! Lol I was not expecting Raboniel to stab her daughter. I mean who was. But now I have a serious concerns for all those passed out radiants. Don‘t hurt my Bridge 4! Im diving back in now. 13h
Meshell1313 Ooh yay!!!! Ok I love love love Kaladin‘s and Wit‘s scenes together! What did you think of Adolin‘s trial? Is Shallan finally Shallan? And Rabonial has the power to destroy all of the radiants?!?! 4h

I started my DNF Diaries series on the blog to help me keep track of the books that I dnfed this year. However I‘ve done a horrible job keeping up with them so I‘ll be sneaking some in the rotation to get ready for the end of the year.

I‘m ashamed to say that I dnfed Gardens of the Moon. I want to love this series but it‘s no secret that it‘s long and complex. I‘m a new mom and I just don‘t think it‘s a great time to start this one.

I didn‘t find this one quite as immersive and difficult to put down as the first, but Wells is an incredibly gifted storyteller. There‘s plenty of action and deep history of the world Wells created. If the real world wasn‘t such a mess, I probably would have loved this more and finished it faster. Kudos to Wells for keeping me coming back.

Alluring cover. Intriguing world-building. Quirky gargoyle sidekick. Sweet budding romance. Devastating villainy. I‘m in for Book 2.

This is really fun so far (187/619). The characters are intriguing and the plot is propulsive. My only complaint is that the world building is lazy: Caten is Rome behind the thinnest of veils.
