Brought my best friend to the Friends of the Library bookstore that I've been frequenting for years (her first time) for some much needed book therapy, and came home with this #bookhaul. She bought an equally large stack and instantly fell in love with the store. 📚 💕

Yesterday, kiddo and I went to the local used book sale. Her picks are on the right, mine are the rest. We weren‘t planning to go, but her book club met yesterday and almost everybody was going to the sale and she decided she haaaaad to go, too. Between yesterday and today, the sale will move something like 65,000 books, all to benefit the college‘s literacy foundation.

Kenyazero Nice! That's the best way to aquire books. Our library's Friends organization has one of these in the fall and we always go to buy a bag of kids' books to hand out on Halloween alongside candy. 3d

Our last stop off in Wales was Bodnant Gardens, which, as many National Trust properties do, has a second hand book room, where I picked up these treasures ?
Shop Fronts is a book of interesting store facades (the word "interesting" could be doing some heavy lifting there!).
The Tolkien study was more to compare to other ME guides I have, but I find that Duriez is an Inklings scholar, so it may be better than I'd anticipated.

Bookwomble The Simenon's will probably be best. I picked them up on his name without looking too closely, assuming they were all Maigret stories, but each volume has one Maigret novel (only one of which I've already read) and two non-Maigret novels, none of which I've read! 😆 1w

Half Off Books Records Films | Fullerton, CA (Bookstore)

This picture popped up in my FB memories today… my #bookhaul from a Labor Day Fire Sale at this bookstore before they moved to a new location—8 years ago. In those 8 years, I‘ve managed to finish… um… well… three of these books. 😶🙃

I‘ve read Homegoing (excellent), Penderwicks (a delight), and the Scarlett Thomas (eh). Which do you think I should (ostensibly) read sooner rather than later?

Ruthiella Well, I loved the Thomas book and didn‘t really like Homegoing so I will tag one I also didn‘t like and it will probably be a winner for you ! 😂

Fates and Furies: A Novel

monalyisha I laughed out loud. Too relatable! I also vote for Fates & Furies. I have an ARC of that one…which I *also* haven‘t read. It‘s okay. It was only published a full decade ago. 😂🙈 Good thing I got an early release copy! 2w

lauraisntwilder I tried reading Fates and Furies multiple times before finally switching to audio sped up. Not a fan. Charlie Lovett is great though, so I vote for The Bookman's Tale. 2w

Yesterday, I bought "Introducing the Medieval Dragon", "The History of Wales in 12 Poems", and a couple of bookmarks from Beaumaris Castle. I already have a couple of ?s from BC, but not *these* ones! ?
Today, at Plas Newydd, seat of the Marquises of Anglesey, I replaced a previously owned and given away copy of "Mist Over Pendle" with this 2nd✋? copy, and got another ?

AshleyHoss820 If it helps, my children are inheriting much the same and my daughter, without knowing this, said, “Can I please have all your books someday?” So perhaps your kiddos will be chill with it also? Personally, I think there‘s no better legacy than the gift of 1,000 worlds in one space. ☺️🧡 2w
