Christmas #bookhaul 🎄❄️ My sisters and I decided to get each other book boxes this year. We didn‘t fully know what the other likes to read so we spent a lot of time on each other‘s goodreads and guessing 😂

a combination of sales, gift cards, and gifts means I‘ve accumulated 8 books! I‘m excited to try a bunch of books I know very little about or hadn‘t heard before. Getting out of my comfort zone and going into a book blind is refreshing 😊

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick The cover of The Salvage has me intrigued! 7h

Today‘s BN #bookhaul to spend my Christmas gift card. I asked for the tagged, but didn‘t really expect to get it. The Hekate has the gorgeous sprayed edges, and I can‘t wait for the next book (both to read it and to see what it looks like). The Time Machine is for homeschool literature on a few months - I thought I had it, but can‘t find it anywhere. Kiddo didn‘t spend all her gift cards in one go, but very carefully considered her purchases. 👇🏻

ravenlee Her treasures already got put away, so I didn‘t get a pic, but she got some Keeper of the Lost Cities, the new beautiful hardcover of Howl‘s Moving Castle, and a manga coloring book by Christopher Hart (her favorite manga drawing book author, and this book draws on his how-to series). And maybe something else, who knows. 11h
TEArificbooks We did Time Machine for our homeschool literature in November. In January we will do Diary of Anne Frank. 11h
ravenlee @TEArificbooks what grade/age is that for? We‘re about to start Little Women for January. Anne Frank will be for history, rather than literature, around the end of January-beginning of February. My kiddo is seventh grade. 10h
TEArificbooks I have an eighth grader and high school grad in his gap year that is still learning and preparing for college. We go to a teen homeschooling literature class/book club each week and Anne Frank is what they picked for January. They switch between classic/requires school reading books and modern books. They did Little Women last year. 10h

Christmas #bookhaul, part three (the final part!): SFF & classic fiction

I have Goudge‘s Pilgrim‘s Inn on my shelf & have been waiting to read it since I discovered it‘s book 2 in a series—now I own book 1!
I got Brigands & Breadknives almost immediately after my library added it to Libby, only to find that I most certainly should have read Bookshops & Bonedust first. I own Bonedust, and now I can come back to Brigands at my leisure ⤵️

BarbaraJean (Cont‘d) And, Water Moon feels like just the kind of cozy I need right now… after I finish my 2025 reading challenges 😆 13h

Christmas #bookhaul, part two: children‘s and YA

I‘ve been wanting to re-read Wind in the Willows, so my husband got me a nice illustrated B&N edition, plus Alice (there was a sale 😁)
My book group read Raybearer this year, so I needed Redemptor—the sequel!
The Last Unicorn has been on my list foreeeeever
I‘ve recommended Kiki‘s Delivery Service so many times while playing Little Bookshop, I decided I needed to read it 😂

Christmas #bookhaul, part one: nonfiction

I‘m super excited about A History of Reading, after reading Manguel‘s The Library at Night this year.
Touch the Earth and Rage Prayers are books I discovered through my spiritual director. I‘m looking forward to dipping into those both for myself and to share with others
Praying with Jane Eyre is right up my alley with personal and spiritual reflection on literature
And, the LMM complete journals vol. 7!

My Christmas #bookhaul

I got Ice Planet Barbarians in my extended family‘s White Elephant gift swap, much to the horror of my son‘s partner who clearly doesn‘t know me well enough yet 🤣🤣🤣

Ruthiella I think you might like it! 😅 2d
BarbaraBB Didn‘t my parcel reach you? According to my track & trace it was delivered on the 24th? 🤞🏽🤞🏽 2d
CarolynM @BarbaraBB Yes! I picked it up on Christmas Eve and put it aside with my #jolabokaflodswap parcel to open when we got home, then managed to miss it when I got the other parcel out 🤦🏻‍♀️ So thank you for reminding me. I will open it right now. 2d

Great #BookHaul from my family for my birthday earlier this month and Christmas. A nice mix of books to add to my bookshelves. I may have to use the library a bit less in 2026 and start reading the ridiculous amounts of unread books I have at home 🤣!!

TheBookHippie Nice stack! 3d
Jess861 @TheBookHippie Thanks! Now I actually need to read them 😂 3d
