Easiest bingo I ever got! Started this book over coffee this morning only to get to page 5 of the introduction to see an underline. So I flip through, and yup, I already read this 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 It is relieving to know that I at least remember read books once I start to re-read them.

When I read The Eighty-Dollar Champion, last month, there was mention of the how and why Black Beauty came to be written. I decided it was finally time to read this book I've had since I was about 8.

This isn't my genre of choice, but I thought it would be more character driven than plot driven given the unusual age of the woman. Definitely a case of it's the reader, not the book.

This horse's story was so touching and inspiring, but the writing was repetitive and dull. Only the story and history kept me from DNFing. However, the long buried horse-girl in me is glad I read it 😊🐴
