As soon as I started this I remembered why I have zero memory of A Visit From The Goon Squad--I had no idea what the hell I had read. After 70 pages of an incoherent jumble of story elements I decided to #HailTheBail

My second DNF of the month and it's only the 3rd 😆 But that also means two more TBRs off the shelf so Yay!

Lula Dean's Little Library of Banned Books | Kirsten Miller

I loved that everyone found exactly the right book at exactly the right time. What felt like choppy story telling actually came together quite nicely, even if the end dragged a bit. Overall, a good story.

A memoir of Conroy's time teaching at a small school on Yamacraw Island in 1969. A desegregation coming-of-age story of sorts for him. It was interesting to see the origins of characters that appeared in his later books.

StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego This was boring AF, but I think that was intentional to make the ending more impactful. It all kind of pops off at the end. But I didn't really find it worthwhile. And if I remember correctly, the epilogue pissed me off. 1mo
