AnishaInkspill I've now joined the storygraph challenge and I also like how this will complement the Long Reads Workout 2026 I created on storygraph, a workout i came up with as I really wanted to read my longer books but struggled to know to get to them, so it's nice that we're thinking along the same lines. 6d

so-so

I found the book overly long. Neo-Victorian novels are normally my jam, but was disappointed a bit. The 780 page brick of a book lacked forward momentum IMO. John Mellamphy aka Clothier aka Huffam goes from bad to worse and back to bad again while he and his mother are beset by nefarious forces who will stop at nothing to steal the boy‘s rightful inheritance.
