#chunksterchallenge2025 check in: I‘m 315 pages in. I‘m enjoying reading this…he‘s surprisingly funny in his letters. I do wish the maps (battlefields) were labeled more clearly.

Truth be told, it lacks the resonance of his Children Of Time trilogy. Instead there are multiple fight scenes, or maybe a kind of Goldberg Variations on the first fight scene. However, I grew to love the crew, and it took my mind off "world events".
If you don't go in expecting an existential crisis (despite its theme of the destruction of worlds bearing sentient life) but just buckle up and go with it, I think you'll enjoy the ride.

quietlycuriouskate At 458 pages, this is a bitsy chunkster for #chunksterchallenge2025 @Amiable 7d
quietlycuriouskate *I mistyped that: it's actually 548 pages. #chunksterchallenge2025 @Amiable 🙂 6d
Amiable That works! 😀 Great job! 6d
TieDyeDude This is an author that I think I'd really enjoy. I've only read a couple novellas/short stories, but everything I hear about his other work sounds right up my alley! 5d
quietlycuriouskate @TieDyeDude Oh, I think you'd love them! 🙂 2d

Murtagh: The World of Eragon | Christopher Paolini

Last night, made it to page 20 of 705 pages...the beginnings of an epic 🥳🐉📚💝.

It's early, yet loving this. Like how Murtagh can communicate with his dragon.

Chunkster Tip

If reading a Chunkster before bed, try not to doze off...705 pages wrapped in hardcover becomes mighty hazardous when it smashes onto your face 😂📚💝.

Amiable I just laughed out loud —been there, had the nose bruise to show for it! 😄 1w
AnnCrystal @Amiable Oh no! Made me laugh out loud that I'm surprised I didn't wake the household 😂...lucky a bruise hasn't formed 🤞😉👍📚💝. 1w

DogMomIrene 😂😂😂 I stopped reading all physical books before bed because I was knocking them everywhere. It‘s e-books only now. Thanks for making me laugh. 1d
AnnCrystal @DogMomIrene👏😂...good switch 😉👍...I would probably do the same if I could get my eyes to like screens, they seem to tear at my eyes if I focus for too long. There is also something magical that I find in the old fashioned book 📚💝. 1d

I remember as a child and seeing The Earth's Children everywhere. I knew just by looking at the covers that they were going to be great reads. I just forgot about them. Thank goodness they are in my universe again. In fact, I can't wait to finish reading the series just to start again. This one, in particular, is the best at survival in the wild - the Ice Age wild.

Don Quixote is #OffMyShelf for the chunkster prompt 🎉 I pushed through to finished the last 200 pages today.

While I appreciate this novel's historical literary significance, I found I lost steam with the continuous monotony of the ludicrous conduct.

It‘s my first #chunksterchallenge2025 book 🎉

TheBookHippie Whew!!! 2w
