Mid-month check in. Not going exactly like I planned but books are being read so 🤷🏾‍♀️

Fellow Canadians, what are you thinking about this season's swaps what with the whole Canada Post strike? I live in a remote area so I have to do all my shopping online (I order things, wait for them to arrive, then ship them out). I'm bummed about the idea of missing out on the part of the holidays I actually look forward to, but also can't bring myself to sign up when there's a very real possibility that I won't be able to meet deadlines.

I forgot many things in the last week. But here's my November #bookspin bingo card. And here's to next month being better.

Welp. October is over. The books were great...life not so much. Books kept me from completely spiraling which means I still managed to achieve a #bookspinbingo despite the stress. I leaned into the horror/thriller theme this month and was not disappointed.

Here‘s my #bookspinbingo board for November. I really like this Fall background I chose for my board along with the fonts. I was playing around on Canva recently and I was wondering if I could upload more fonts to Canva and I discovered through a Google search that I can so I uploaded some new fonts on to Canva because I don‘t always like the fonts that they have on there. The fonts on this bingo board are fonts that I uploaded.

My #doublespin pick is one of the short stories I‘ll be reading for the #noplacelikeholmes readalong and my #bookspin pick is a mood read.

I set my November #bookspinbingo card up in a lull while volunteering helping with a youth solo competition. My kid's competing on tuba against two clarinets, a marimba, and a flute. Not sure how the judges will choose the winner with that assortment, but the musicians seem to be having fun!

It works out well that my picks for this month‘s #BookSpin are nonfiction. I have the audiobook of Normal Women, and it‘s about 18 hours long so that is going to take a chunk of the month to finish.

(Ugh. I know this board is hideous but I'm too tired to redo it.)

Here we go for November, if you can believe it. 2025 is coming for us like the baddie in a slasher movie. My #bookspin for this month is Under the Eye of the Big Bird. I‘ve got a stinkin‘, spoiled rotten dog on my heated throw this morning preventing me from taking a proper bookshelf picture, but I‘m not complaining! 😂

I was sure 12 would be picked, so I changed what was there 5 times. I ended on a book about suicide. I‘m now afraid it will be too emotionally draining 😬 #bookspin. My #doublespin is a short story collection that has been on my TBR forever.

My list! It‘s here a little late, but it‘s here nonetheless.

Here's the #BookSpinBingo card! First, I put our official numbers (12 & 1) back in the mix. Then I drew them all out & wrote them down as I went, meaning the official numbers are just mixed into the card with the rest! As you can see, 21-25 are both labeled with their numbers & also as free spaces, so you can use them to match however you wrote your list. I'm very pleased with my #bookspinbingo for October! Three bingos, 17 books finished, 1 DNFed. I finished my #bookspin, my #doublespin, and 3/4 of my #castthedie titles. I wouldn't mind similarly prioritizing reading for November, too.

Here‘s my #bookspinbingo list for November. I had 67 books on my Oct TBR but this month‘s list won‘t be as ambitious. I‘m going to be mood reading all month. I still have a lot of Netgalley books to read but I‘m looking forward to mood reading this month. I need a mood reading month.

The one review I posted recently was of my last Doublespin, Cleopatra and Frankenstein, which I loved. My Bookspin, Up in the Air on which the Clooney film was based, was a bust. Hoping for two good ones in November! Thanks Sarah for keeping this going into the quarter-century mark! 😱😱

My October #bookspinbingo board has been filled and then some.

3 of the books on the board were DNFs, although I had 6 total. I also finished 4 more books that aren't pictured.

It was an impressive month. Looking at some of these books, it feels like I finished the earlier ones way before October. One thing about going through books this quickly: I'm so behind on my reviews (if you call them that).

Filled in 10 and 11 from my previous list. Didn't think I'd have the brain power to do it but 11 is my current read from last month and I picked 10 from a recent list on my e-reader so easy peasy lol
