I‘m still reading the tagged book for #realmofelderlings. I‘ve started it but I don‘t know when I‘ll get back to reading it because I started reading The Starless Sea and it‘s longer than this book. I‘m borrowing The Starless Sea from Libby but I need to read it fast because it‘s due in 10 days. The due date is March 19. I have plenty of time but I like returning books early as soon as I finish them so the next person can start reading the book.

I‘m 2 months behind on those books because I‘m just joining but I should have time to catch up with everyone else. I‘m going to be reading more of Assassin‘s Apprentice for #realmofelderlings. I‘m in a book club on Fable but I don‘t know what we‘re reading yet. When I find out, I‘ll read it.

I also started another #roll100 book but I didn‘t finish it.
pickI originally read this book in 2019. It was and still is the only book I‘ve read by Robin Hobb. Because I read this so long ago, I didn‘t remember a thing about it! So it was like reading a new book to me. I enjoyed it just as much this time as I did last time, but this time I plan to actually continue the series.

For #weeklyfavorites, I read Sea Magick. It‘s about the ocean. It has spells, invocations, meditations and mythology. I really liked this book. This was on my #roll100 list. This week, I finished the short story from Sherlock Holmes for #noplacelikeholmes. I have 2 books in progress: Assassin‘s Apprentice for #realmofelderlings and My Healthy Noggin from my #roll100 list. It has blank journal pages and I‘m journaling along with the book.
I am ready! I might read the 1990s edition as I've cracked the spine and it's already well read
I want to read the Rick Riordan books. I might split it up because it is long. Read other books in-between rather than trying to read it all at once

pickThe first ¾ of this book are very slow and then it speeds up at the end.
It's the recollections of a royal bastard starting from when he was very young. His memories become clearer as he becomes older, though not always.
Fitz is not a reliable narrator. Whether that is deliberate or because memories are fallible. It's interesting to grow alongside him and learn what he finds value in and the people and events that shaped him.
pickHobb created this world and these characters with so much love and care, that everything becomes real. This past week or so I've been living in Six Duchies, sharing in Fitz's journey from boy to man. And I'm more than ready to follow him into the next phase of his life.
If this is only the beginning I know I'm in for purely delightful adventure.

How is everyone feeling about the series so far?
I‘ve got about 50 pages left of Assassin‘s Apprentice will hopefully get it finished this week. I‘m excited and a little intimidated by the second book. Been an age since I‘ve read anything that long and I think it‘s going to hurt but also fuck yeah my favourite character!
