My official reading stats for 2024

As of today, these 12 books are the ones I continue to think about the most. The top row includes #1001books, #LitsyBookClub reads, a #CampLitsy read, and 1 reread for a #ShardlakeBR. I tend to focus on first time reads for my year end list, but rereading the Shardlake series must be included. The bottom row are all fantastic middle grade reads.

Ruthiella Nice stats! 👍 1mo
Liz_M I loved the nesting stories technique of Cloud Atlas! 1mo
Daisey @Liz_M It took a while for me to get into, but by the end, I also loved how it was set up. 4w

tpixie Yes on The Postcard & Cloud Atlas. I checked out clear at the library, but had to return it before I read it. I can‘t remember how I learned about it, but maybe I need to get back to it since it made an impression on you. 5d
Daisey @tpixie It was a #CampLitsy read so there were lots of posts about it last summer. It‘s a slim novel, but pretty powerful, although just a warning that the end is somewhat abrupt. 5d
tpixie @Daisey thanks for the heads up 🩶 4d

This year I read 37 books from the #1001books list. I think 2 of those were rereads, so my current Goodreads tally is 289 completed books from the complete list of 1318 books.

Some of the most interesting/memorable included Cloud Atlas, Year of the Hare, Perfume, and Storm of Steel.

BarbaraBB Impressive. You‘re doing so well. I only read a handful this year 🤷🏻‍♀️ 1mo
Librarybelle That‘s awesome! 1mo
Daisey @Librarybelle Thanks! 1mo
Daisey @BarbaraBB Thanks! My goal is generally three a month, but I had a few months when I completed zero, so I was actually surprised to make it this time. 1mo

I finished my final book of 2024, and the only book currently in progress is my long read/listen of the Complete Sherlock Holmes with #NoPlaceLikeHolmes. Now it‘s time to compile all the book stats for the year. First up, I completed 16 books in December thanks to a lot of time to listen to audiobooks and Christmas break. This included a good combination of light reads, mostly holiday related, and more serious ones, including 5 #1001books.

Another month complete and another month in which the Shardlake reread was my favorite.

Thank goodness for short reads, middle grade reads, and audiobooks right now.

I‘m currently listening to a lot of audiobooks and not fitting in very much print. Sadia and Dark Fire were clear favorites in different genres. This is the first month in a while I haven‘t finished a single 1001 book.

I read more than I expected this month, several good and a few so-so, but an interesting variety. I especially enjoyed the middle grade reads.

July was another busy month without a lot of reading time. Dissolution was a great reread and James was a favorite new read.
