A cute collection of short stories centered on dogs.
My favorites of the bunch were Magnus and Company, Tristan‘s Vigil, and The Dustbin Dog.

I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cry-cry-crying. I read this on the recommendation of both of my boys. Super cute and clever, but so dang sad.

One of the books challenged in my school district as inappropriate for the high school library due to sexual content 🙄🙄

Eggs Enjoyed this one 🐶💙☔️ 2mo
lil1inblue Seriously??? They'll ban anything these days. 😓 2mo
TheBookgeekFrau @lil1inblue I kid you not. The claim is that it contains sexual content that doesn't contribute to the story. I'm pretty sure the parents challenging this believe their kids still think babies are brought by storks. 2mo

Big Red | Jim Kjelgaard

4✨I remember watching a classic movie of this book a long time ago. I just could not remember the ending. A young boy and his father respect the land and the land owner that allows them to live there. One day Danny finds himself drawn to a beautiful dog. He trains him and cares for him as they navigate through the dangers that surround them. Specifically, from Old Majesty a tough bear in the area. I found out this is a series too.

Roary47 This was my #Roll100 for March. #BookSpinBingo for March, and new to my #SeriesLove list that is ever growing. 😅 2mo
TheSpineView I read this series when I was young. Enjoyed it!💜🐕📖📚 2mo
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! I have a soft spot for Kjelgaard's writing (Snow Dog and Wild Trek are my favorites), but his writing isn't for everyone haha 2mo

My white dog Pooh Bear is getting older. I am, too. Maybe that‘s why I finally picked up Terry Kay‘s book about a widowed Southerner facing mortality and read it. Though first published in 1990, it‘s still pure poetry to read and a beautiful testament to small towns, the South, and family, and the realities of loss and mortality. And it features a dog who may be a ghost, or a real one. Kay keeps you guessing. Highly recommended!
