Ended up being a bit of a dull list, imo.
I‘ve read 7.

List : https://www.abc.net.au/listen/radionational/countdown/top100books

Trent Dalton‘s Boy Swallows Universe coming in at #1 made me laugh - I haven‘t read any of his books but I have been the recipient of a passionate anti-Dalton rant from a librarian AND I think of the phrase “he is the definitive novelist of Scott Morrison‘s Australia” every time he comes up.

CarolynM I‘m glad you thought so too. I really didn‘t like Boy Swallows Universe & I cannot understand why so many people thought it was good. The Scott Morrison analogy is a good one. I haven‘t counted how many of the list I‘ve read & I don‘t particularly care. I wasn‘t surprised that only 2 of my votes made the list 😆 1d
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @CarolynM, none of my votes made the list 🤣 but that didn‘t really surprise me - fantasy and fantasy adjacent books never make a strong showing in this type of lists. Glad to hear that it‘s a good analogy from someone who has sampled his books. 1d

Happy Sunday, everyone. 🧡💜💛

Deblovestoread #1 Some new to me titles but some well loved books, too. Brought back great memories of reading to my kids. #2 So like Hillary‘s book co-written with Louise Penny and Bill‘s with James Patterson I wonder how much collaboration there is. I haven‘t read any of them so 🤷🏻‍♀️ #3 my first reading of Frankenstein was last year. Mind blown. Great articles 💙 2d
dabbe @Deblovestoread TY! #1: I saw a few that I need to still read! #2: IKR? I haven't read any either, so maybe I'll give one a try. #3 I just love FRANKENSTEIN. It still blows my mind to think that a 19-year-old wrote it. Just complete W🧟‍♂️W. We need a FRANKENSTEIN emoji. 🧡💜💛 2d

This is the composite image of the cover art by JaeHoon Choi for the eight books in the Korean horror series, Lovecraft Reanimated, three of which have been translated into English, and I hope more of them will be despite a bit of unevenness in the current offerings.
The top right cover with the image of an Elder Thing from HPL's "At the Mountains of Madness" looks especially intriguing!

1920. Wanna be reporter Poppy Denby comes to London to assist her physically ailing Aunt Dot,a former suffragette & actress. When Poppy gets a job at the Daily globe as the editor‘s assistant, she does not envision that investigating a murder will be on her to-do-list. Definitely a page turner! #thePoppyDenbyInvestigatesSeries #1 #audiobook

Delicious mystery! I‘m actually enjoying it more than Raven Black (Shetland #1). The characters feel more familiar (despite a few contradictions). I‘m also constantly not comparing the book with the series. I have absolutely no clue who the killer might be!!
