I like Becky but this memoir didn‘t go over for me. I wanted more detail & while I know some things have to remain mysterious there was plenty brushed off or sped through while analyzing the lead up in great detail -anything from matches to overcoming a mental health issue, there was more about unnamed fiancé #1 than Seth/Colby & I would have liked more about her mom life (may be biased I as a new mom). I liked the early years stuff though.

I finally made it to Pere Lachaise today, and Proust was my #1 dead person I had to visit. The map I found online turned out to be wildly unspecific (right quadrant, wrong position for EVERYONE), but I ran into a nice lady who offered me help and steered me right to him.

Alas, I never did find Sarah Bernhardt, but I also said hi to Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison. The latter is so rowdy they‘ve got metal event barriers around him.

I don‘t actually remember a time when I didn‘t consider myself a bibliophile 🤷🏻‍♀️despite my resolution to try an read the books I have accumulated already before I buy more I did in fact buy 2 at Costco today and order 6 from Book Outlet on the weekend 😬🤫🤭 2. I loved The Reading List. I‘d read every book on the list (and loved them) except A Suitable Boy which I bought to read afterwards. It‘s an amazing feat of storytelling

#5JoysFridays Happy Friday All!! 🩷😊🫶🏽 1) reading everyone‘s posts and reviews has put me in a sleepy trance- which is good!!!👍🏽 because I was in a lot of pain before I clicked on Litsy, I‘m comfortable, but now I have to pee. 2) so far I have taken on this recovery from a back procedure with no pain meds and only a little ice. 3) my mom saying I am acting like a toddler because of the looks I give her every time she tells me to do something

My checkouts from the library today! I have a hold placed on volumes 7-9 (deluxe edition) for The Girl From the Other Side…and I‘m #1 on the wait list…so excited!

Book #1 in the Vera Stanhope series. I had a hard time with this one but I think it was because I was distracted. The story wandered a bit & had a couple characters with similar names which was confusing. But overall it was good.
