Thank you so much for joining us for #MidsummerSolace 🌞 I hope you've enjoyed it as much as we have.
I'd like to say a big thank you to my co-hosts @TheBookHippie @Chrissyreadit for all help.

We will be back in December of #MidwinterSolace ❄️ to help us through the darker months.

Please let me know in the comments if there is anything you would like more or less off, any improvements that can be made, etc. All comments are welcome.

#MidsummerSolace

I hope you've enjoyed our #buddyreads 📚

This is an informal reading discussion for the tagged book. Please let us know your thoughts.

📢 I will post the discussion thread for A Wilder Way around late July, to give our 🇺🇸 readers a chance to catch up.

@TheBookHippie @Chrissyreadit

Librarybelle I did enjoy this one—lots of descriptive passages that made me feel like I was on the island. There is also a solid relationship between Sophia and Mimi, though Sophia did drive me nuts at times! 1d

Bookwormjillk I have The Summer Book out from the library but as usual I am behind. I'll check back in when I finally get to it. 1d
AllDebooks @Bookwormjillk thankfully, it's a short read. I hope you enjoy it x 1d
IriDas I really enjoyed this book. I loved that it was a series of self-contained chapters. The relationship between the girl and her grandmother was very real, nobody was the “font of wisdom” so to speak, they were both just fully human. My Alma mater has several of her books. I think I will have to check them out when school starts back. 1d
julieclair I adored The Summer Book! It was my only 5-star read in June. The relationship between grandmother and granddaughter was something truly special and loving. Even when they were angry with each other, they understood each other so well. 6h
AllDebooks @IriDas @julieclair so glad you both enjoyed it. The relationship between Sophia and her grandmother was very realistic. 6h
AllDebooks @Librarybelle Sophia was a handful at times. 😅 6h

Grab a ☕️ and join in the #Chatterday chitchat.

All are welcome to join in. No topics are off the table. This is a safe place to share your thoughts, feelings, plans, and experiences. Just as you would with a friend in the real world.

Wishing you all a fab weekend. 🌞

Librarybelle Good Morning! It‘s a foggy morning in my area this morning, and my head is certainly feeling the weather. This is a quiet weekend for me, so hopefully my usual reading and naps, as well as prepping for #ChristiesCapers and #LiteraryCrew discussions. 4d
AllDebooks Wishing you a peaceful weekend x 3d

#FridayNightShare #MidsummerSolace

🌞 I don't have a go-to book when I'm feeling low or struggling. Just the act of isolating to dive in a book brings me peace and comfort.
🌞 My favorite format is physical books 📚 While I read a huge ton of magazines online, ebooks I rarely read. I just can't do audio.
🌞 I read mostly inside. During the day, on my couch in the living room, at night in bed ;)

@Chrissyreadit @TheBookHippie

kspenmoll Poetry in many forms I find uplifting as well as anything by John O'Donohue. 5d
JulietteReadsALot @kspenmoll Thanks for the recommendation ;) 5d

#MidsummerSolace

It's time for our last #FridayNightShare (for now). It will be back in December for #MidwinterSolace

🌞 What's your go-to book when you're feeling low or struggling?
🌞 Which format do you prefer? 📚 🎧
🌞 Where is your most ideal reading location or environment?

@Chrissyreadit @TheBookHippie

kspenmoll Go to books: poetry & anything by John O'Donohue. I love physical books best, but kindle/phone for traveling, waiting for appointments. I love to read in my office in my couch with my cats & on porch. 5d
AllDebooks ❤️ Thanks for your great answers. There is nothing like a tangible book to absorb yourself in the story. I find a 🐈 essential for comfort. 5d
AllDebooks My go to to destress are always short stories, particularly nature or folklore genres. My favourites are The Mistletoe Bride by Kate Mosse, Januaries by Olivie Blake and 5d
AllDebooks I prefer reading outdoors or tucked up in bed. I prefer reading a book to ebooks but, you know, shelf space is limited! 🤷‍♀️ I've just got into audioboooks over the last 2 years, and they have been a gamechanger. Very relaxing listening to them before falling asleep. 5d
