Great second book in this series! This one follows Jax and Tycho (my favorite couple) as war is looming and everyone keeps trying to hide their magic. Lots of different POVs and storylines and I‘m hoping book 3 comes out soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ oh update: I finished just in time. The 3rd book comes out Jan 27th!

A nice compilation of short stories each focusing on different characters from the shadowhunter world. It was nice to be back with some of these characters again but some stories were better than others. We also got a sneak peek of her new trilogy coming out that will be the conclusion to her Shadowhunter books. That chapter was really exciting. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2.

Although not as good as Book 1, this one continues the story of our two sisters Hakara and Rasha each on opposite ends of the war. This one is also mainly about Sheuan and Mull who are trying to find more answers about the Gods. Still, this felt slightly like a filler since there will be a book 3 and not much was resolved. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another great #CosmereBuddyRead pick! I love what a quick read these are compared to his more epic tomes we‘ve been used to. I love Wax and Wayne (and Marasi!) even still, after reading a dozen of his books he still manages to surprise me! What an ending! Can‘t wait to read the next one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

#readingbracket2025 ! Can‘t believe we have only one month left till the end of the year and then we will have to choose our favorite of the year! This month my fav was Sanderson again. I‘ve been loving our #cosmerebuddyread all year and we still have many of his books left to read in 2026!

Although def not as good as the first book I still feel satisfied with this sequel and the ending. Bristol is trying to protect her new friends and family so she makes lots of unnecessary sacrifices. There just wasn‘t as much action as book 1. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

I enjoyed this Bluebeard fairy tale retelling. Two sisters who could be witches are hired by a count to remove a dangerous ghost from his estate. Chaos ensues and I liked the many layers of the story and could easily see a sequel that focuses on the other sister. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another great Sanderson book. Thank goodness book 5 came out recently as I can‘t wait to see how he wraps up the Stormlight Archives. I would read a million pages with these characters. In this one Kaladin and Dalinar are trying to save the world as usual but still with twists and turns I never see coming. I won‘t give anything away for our #CosmereBuddyRead peeps but one scene at the end literally made me tear up! Can‘t wait to discuss!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ok- I read to see what the hype is about but I did not love it. I think I def should have paid more attention to the trigger warnings- not much bothers me, but this was icky. Hard to get past it. It was also way too long. Ya‘ll know I love a chunkster, but this took forever to read. I stuck with it and thought it was just okay. Disappointing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

My #TBRtarot pick this month is the new novella in the world of Belladonna & Wisteria. Set during Christmas it‘s just a cute story where we can see what our couples have been up to since the ending of the last book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ooh my #2025readingbracket is filling up fast! My favorite this month was Shield of Sparrows and I used my last wild card spot for my second favorite this month Conform. I cannot make a decide between Onyx or Shield though. I just know one of them will be my favorite of the year!

My #TBRtarot pick this month was sooo good. A dystopian society separated by class and color and minor imperfections. A secret rebellion, forbidden love - this had it all. It felt like the Giver but worse. 🤣Can‘t believe it‘s her first novel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed this new Garber book. I usually love her stuff. This one was a story about whether folklores and magic are real as our FMC has hours to find a magical object before bad things happen. Lots of wondering who to trust and felt like a mystery adventure novel. I also really liked the ending. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The hype was alll real for me. This was right up my alley- a great epic love story, magic, TONS of secrets, great world building, and quite the cliffhanger ending! I was hooked, engrossed, borderline obsessed. 🤣 Might end up being my favorite book of the year. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is why she‘s one of my favs! This 4th book in the series picks up right where we left off and I was immediately drawn back into this world and these characters. Alizeh is fated to kill Cyrus after they marry and she becomes queen. I love the folklore and the deals with the devil. The ending is both wrapped up but also leaves us wanting more in the next book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great sequel! Picked up right where we left off and poor Charlie has to work for others as punishment and all she wants to do is get Vince back. Lots of mysteries to solve and problematic situations to deal with. ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

I loved this new novella that is a prequel to Priory. This tells the story of Princess Marosa and what happens in Yscalin when the ancient dragons arrive. It sets us up right for the events in Priory. I loved being back in that world. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok my #CosmereBuddyRead peeps- of course I couldn‘t put it down after part 4 and accidentally finished it. 😂 Buckle up. I cannot wait to discuss the ending since as usual Sanderson does not let up. I will read anything set in this world. This novella tells the story of Kitt and death and leads us right up to where we left off in the main series. If nothing else, it is getting me even more excited for the next main series book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was definitely giving atmospheric academia vibes. An architecture student wins a contest to redo the home of her favorite author and she begins working together with a literature student to uncover the truth about this mysterious author. There‘s this underlying question of if magic is real or just all in her mind. The ending was great so I will have to read the second book but I do agree this one was a little slow and dragged on. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

My #2025readingbracket is filling up fast! My favorite this month was Three Shattered Souls but I‘m still loving the Powerless series so much! There are soo many new books being released these next few months so I‘m hopeful there will be plenty of five star reads ahead! Can‘t wait to see how everyone‘s brackets are progressing!

Finished this month‘s #TBRtarot right in the nick of time. This new Kuang satire? inspired by Dante‘s Inferno focuses on the perils of academia. Two students go into hell to save their professor but must go through every level. I wanted to care more about the characters but it was hard to get into. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Terribly disappointed with this one. This tells Mische‘s and Asar‘s story but was long and drawn out with not a lot of action. I found it hard to get into it and to care about these characters which is odd because the 1st book I devoured and it has just been downhill from there. We are being set up for a 5th book but I‘m not sure I‘m going to do it. ⭐️⭐️

#serieslove2025 This 4th book in the series picks up 8 months after book 3, speeding up the timeline our characters have to save Princess Jaslyn from dying on her 18th birthday and being taken over by the evil far king Mordeus. Lots of searching for answers and trying to avoid processes but a nice conclusion to this saga. I wasn‘t as hooked as the other 3 but had to see how it all played out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

What a great ending? to the series! The author left it open for more books! These are always fun, funny and cute. I really enjoyed this one and seeing our band of misfits work together to try and end the curse. What a nice surprise twist at the end! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This second book picked up right where we left off in the middle of the Grandest Games! Alliances are made and unmade, and some new characters revealed. A great second book with a cliffhanger so now we must wait. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The next in our #cosmerebuddyread was this collection of short stories. I loved getting some missing chunks from books we‘ve read, but I also loved meeting some new characters who I hope we will see again in the future. I also loved his post scripts explaining each story and his intros to each solar system. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

#serieslove2025 Woo what an ending. Did not see that coming. This last book in the trilogy gave me all the feels. Aeri and Mikhail are close to taking the thrones and defeating their enemies. I loved the myths of the relics and we are always wondering who to trust. I am sad to leave these characters but hopefully we‘ll have more books in this world. What a great series overall. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
