My Goodwill finds from this evening. $5 for the pair. 📚 💚
If you liked Brynne Weaver's Butcher & Blackbird and Lark & Leather then you will most likely enjoy this book with its mile long list of trigger warnings at the start. Humour, heart, kink! It's got all of these and more in spades. Can't wait for the next book!

A friend recommended this #audiobook to me and I'm so happy she did because it was fantastic. Great characters with a sweet story to tell.
4.5 ⭐
I'd say this #audiobook was between a 3.5 and 4 stars read for me. I enjoyed the story, but found myself easily distracted with life around me. This doesn't usually happen to me unless I'm not fully invested which, I guess, means that it wasn't. I think some of the explanation of how and why things were happening the way they did felt a little convoluted. Still a decent book though that I'm glad I read. #audiobook
This was a really good book. It was heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
I have been reading this one off and on for months. I managed not to lose it when I moved, and yet somehow since then I've managed to misplace it. 🤦♀️ I would love to finish it if I could just figure out where I last set it down. 🤣

I think it's really cool that Michael Crichton started this book before his death and that James Patterson was able to come in afterwards to pick up and complete the story. Was it my favorite book? No, it wasn't. But I enjoyed the #audiobook reading experience all the same.
⭐⭐⭐
I almost always find McFadden's books to be well developed with a complete out of left field twist at the end. This time around I came away somewhat disappointed. The story stressed me out something fierce, which isn't neceoa bad thing, but I want it to all come together in the end. And with this #audiobook, I didn't even like the ending. Some of the twist I was down for; however, the actual ending itself seemed contrived and irritating. 3.5 ⭐
Fiction mimicing real life! I loved this fictionalized version of Kinsella's own personal story about her life and experience dealing with a cancer diagnosis and recovery. A moving look behind the curtain, so to speak. #audiobook
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I went back and forth on my opinion if this book. There were times I was quite enjoying it, and then other times that felt just meh to me. Overall I guess I'd give 3.5 stars because it was a decent story. I didn't care for the narration on this #audiobook though. I found some of the accents and voices to be irritating/annoying. It's possible I'd have ranked the book higher had I read it in print instead.
3.5 ⭐
Anyone else get a kick out of crazy descriptors? A couple that stood out to me from recent reads are below.
"Skin the color of old mushrooms" and "hair the color of raw meat".
These were from different books and different authors, but both made me sit up and go "huh?!" ? I mean, they're very specific ways to get your mental image across, but they're so weird! ?
This was my first experience reading this author, and I can't say enough how much I enjoyed it! I loved the characters and the story. It was cute, clean, and fun. Highly recommend the #audiobook too as the narrator did a great job.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Alix E Harrow is a new to me author who lured me in with their cover and kept me in with their writing. It wasn't the best thing I ever read, but I liked it well enough. The modern day gothic vibe added to the book's appeal though I'm only giving this 3 out of 5 stars because it was still rather lackluster.
Sidebar,The narrator for the #audiobook gets my thumbs up.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ware's books are always super easy to slip into, and you're always guaranteed a thrilling mystery. My copy might have been an #audiobook; however, that didn't make it any less of a pageturner! Side note: I didn't love the way she started to wrap this one up, so I spent quite a while ranting at the narrator. Thankfully the author did bring it all around in the end though.
Went to the movies w/my daughter today. One of us was seeing Terrifier 3; the other was seeing Wild Robot. Okay, *I* was seeing Wild Robot. When it came time to enter the theatre I didn't think about the fact that my soon to be 19 y/o can pass for a middle schooler and handed her her ticket and I held on to mine. Naturally they wanted to see her id, which she doesn't have one, and w/o it or me going w/her she couldn't see her horrifying movie.⤵️
3.5 ⭐ The first book was better, but this sequel was still worth the wait. I'm pretty sure Evie is my spirit animal. LoL She talks without thinking first, she's klutzy, she's amazing! Loads of laugh out loud moments with this book and a decent story to boot. #audiobook
"I do not lack equilibrium," she argued, " the ground merely lacks the courtesy of letting me know when it's coming closer." -Evie
You and me, girl! You and me! ???
The Villain: "Does your mind live in the gutter?"
Evie: "No, but it rents there on occasion." ???
Oh, Evie, I can so relate! ?
⭐⭐⭐
My rating shouldn't be taken against the author or this book. It was alright, some might even say it was really good- I dunno. For me though, I just had a hard time getting into it. Nothing about the storyline or characters hooked me. I stuck with it because I hate DNFing a book unless absolutely necessary, and I didn't hate this one so kept listening (#audiobook). It just fell kind of flat for me.
3.5⭐ I genuinely liked the overall story concept. As such I wanted to love this book and give it a full five stars. The premise was eeriely creepy good; however, the characters were almost all truly awful and hard to like (except for the grandma, who was fierce and wholely likeable). The mother was written to be terrible, but my dislike for her went deeper than the intended degree. Actually, most of the characters were horrible people. #audiobook
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Loved this book! The first big reveal actually gave me chills it was so unexpected. The other big reveals weren't as surprising, but were still very good and well written. It's always fun reading a Kubica title.

Of all the Riley Sager books I've read (listened to the #audiobook of) so far this one was my least favorite. Don't get me wrong, it was a good story with mystery and suspense that kept you twisting and turning on who dunnit. I simply didn't find it as exciting or engaging as I have his other books.
Fun romantic fantasy with monsters and mayhem.
Two thumbs up for both the author and for the narrator of the #audiobook.
4.5 ⭐
The House Across the Lake was a thrilling read with a surprising plot twist. Much like Frieda McFadden, this author kept me guessing. I'm still a fairly new reader when it comes to his books, but I already know I will be binging them as fast as I can get my hands on them.
The narrator for this #audiobook wasn't my absolute favorite though she grew on me.
3.5 ⭐
Truth be told, this is more of a "pick" than a "so-so", but I didn't find myself enjoying Lachlan's & Lark's storyline as much I did Rowan's & Sloane's. Yet I really liked these characters themselves. Their chemistry & witty banter proved to consistently put a smile on my face. (I was listening to the #audiobook, and at one point I was doubled over at my desk laughing so hard it's a wonder my co-workers didn't notice.)

⭐⭐⭐⭐ When I first read about Braking Points online I immediately knew that I had to read it. The story sounded wholesome & sweet- like something you'd see in a Hallmark movie. Now I would like to point out that I'm not typically a fan of Hallmark movies or overly romantic, sappy books. I like a good story though, and this one's synopsis grabbed my attention & wouldn't let go. And wow. Just wow, wow, wow. This book was really freaking good.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ This book was different! I loved the narrators for the #audiobook version and feel they added a lot to the entire reading experience. From the git go, with the trigger warnings, it was quickly obvious that this was not a book for the faint of heart or the prudish. It would include lots of violence, loads of sex, plus an immense amount of descriptive and explicit language. And that it did, in addition to heaps of snarky humor! ⤵️
4.5 ⭐
Of all three books, I liked this installment of the trilogy most. I think the fact that King brought readers back full circle to book one's antagonist really did it for me. A fun and exciting read that allowed for a gripping wrap to the series. #audiobook
3.5 stars
I didn't enjoy this installment of the trilogy as much as I did book one. This was kind of up then down, and then up and down again for me. What I did like was the narrator and how the story was written around a readers obsession with an author and his work. I thought this was a great concept.
#audiobook
As a King fan since middle school, I'm unsure why it took me so long to get around to reading this, but I'm glad I finally did. It was disturbing, like anyone who has read a King book would expect. However it was a very good thriller with only moderate gore.
Side note: The narrator made this another great #audiobook option.

1.) My oldest baby girl turned 21 this week (🤯), and I got to take her out mini bar hopping for drinks last night. Not a big drinker, but it was fun to experience this right of passage w/her. 🥰
2.) I found fresh Dragon Eyes at the Asian market, and they are fantastic!
3.) Making good headway on iZombie and might be done before Netflix pulls it 9/5.
4.) Had a good annual check up.
5.) Scored a free iced java!

I selected this #audiobook by random on Libby, having never even heard the title in passing. It was a total gamble. I couldn't stand the main character. And then I kinda did. Then I hated her with a passion. But then again found myself going over to her side. I have no how the author kept me so indecisive about her, but in the end I think I actually kinda liked her. ⤵️

Finally got my hands on a Riley Sager #audiobook, and I tore through it like wildfire. I totally expected the story to go one direction and it went another. So didn't see that coming; however, it was brilliant.
Very much looking forward to more books by this author.

Try as I might I just couldn't vibe with this one. I had moments where I found myself more immersed than others, and I quite liked the way the author drew her storylines together at the end. But all in all this was just okay for me. #audiobook

There were aspects about this book, starting out, that made me think it was an all too familiar storyline spin off from another author's book I recently read. What an unfair and completely inaccurate assessment! What a fantastic book! Really really enjoyed trying to figure it out. Another #audiobook narrator win too!
I did not love this book, but found it mildly interesting. #audiobook
As seen on and borrowed from #Litsy. 😁
Pick two and only two!
🤔 Oof this is harder than I first thought it would be. I'm torn between 8 & 6 or 8 & 3. I can't do it; I can't choose! 🫤😂📚💜
⭐⭐⭐⭐
I heard some mixed reviews on this sequel, but I am w/those that liked it. The story was a true continuation of book 1 and, therefore, focused again on both the original main characters - Roman & Iris. This go round, in my mind's eye anyway, the story felt more inclined to Roman's perspective as opposed to Iris's. Though I should point out that both characters got plenty of page time as this exciting tale wrapped up to a satisfying close.
The first part of this book is backstory about how the author experienced and survived the Nazi death camps. The second part is about logotherapy, the idea of moving forward in life and having the mindset to do so in spite of the suffering one experienced previously. What an incredible, inspiring story! Even the technical bits at the end were even reasonably easy to follow. #audiobook
⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Maidens, like Michaelides' previous books, is rife with drama, intrigue, and mystery. It allows readers to concoct many theories, but will any of them be right?! Mine weren't! Decent storyline and exciting twists, though the author may have missed the mark a bit as there were a couple of pretty blatant plot holes and some odd story development choices. All in all though I had fun listening to this #audiobook even if it wasn't perfect.
New to me author, but I would certainly read her again! This was a good mystery/suspense novel. It wasn't full of sharp turns or major action; however, the pacing and intrigue felt spot on. And the fact that the narrator for this #audiobook had a lovely cadence and was easy to listen to made it an all around solid 4 star reading experience.

Unique characters and a story full of heart, that's what you get whenever you pick up a book by this author. And if you opt for the #audiobooks you are treated to an incredible auditory experience w/skilled narrator Daniel Henning at the helm. Through his voice talent he not only reads the words on the pages but breathes life into the characters in a beautiful, heartwarming way. Highly recommend and can hardly wait for the next book.
3.5 ⭐
Cute chic-lit pick. The #audiobook was less regular narration and more theatrical performance with several readers/actors taking part. It was kinda strange how sometimes the narrator was reading multiple parts chapter by chapter, then suddenly there are sound effects and other people would come to "read/act" the next bits. Made think of a few podcast shows I've listened to.
