I just finished my February #bookspin title, better late then never! ☺️

Slow to start, I almost gave up less than halfway through. But since I am reluctant to DNF any book I pushed through and was pleasantly surprised by a wonderfully poignant second half. The writing is lovely and the descriptions of Cornwall itself are so vivid and add to the atmospheric nature of the book. I especially enjoyed reading about young Olivia during WWII. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall, I enjoyed this. The plot is busy, moving from WWII Cornwall, England and the present day. The characters are vividly drawn and the writing and dialogue keeps the story moving at a good clip. It‘s interesting and engaging. Oddly though, it‘s not atmospheric - there is no sense of the space and scenery of the story or of Cornwall. For me, that left the story flat. But there is so much going on, it took me awhile to notice that. 4/5

TheLudicReader I bought this for my 83-year-old aunt for Christmas. I hope she like it as least as much as you did. 4y
CindiB I bet she will @TheLudicReader. It is really engaging. 4y
