I read The Librarian by Salley Vickers last Christmas and it really was the perfect read for that time. I needed cosy but not twee and that's what I got. A work friend has leant me Vickers' first book and I have to say after two chapters, again I am enthralled. She has a lovely slow and enveloping style which I just love
