I've really enjoyed other books by Liane so this was a disappointment.
Obligatory "reading a love story on the beach" shot!
I‘d forgotten how much I love Liane Moriarty! I didn‘t particularly like Nine Perfect Strangers, so I hesitated picking up another one, but I‘m so glad I did! Two love stories involving one man and his current girlfriend and his ex-girlfriend turned stalker. The view point changes between the girlfriend and stalker. My second goal for #anywayyoureadathon is now complete! #booked2021 #setinaustralia
A simple goal: To finish the tagged book plus the audiobook I‘m currently listening too. We are still on vacation and driving back on Sunday so this should be doable! #anywayyoureadathon
I've yet to be disappointed by a Moriarty book. (The Husband's Secret is still my fave though.)
🙌🏻
I finished another Liane Moriarty book. While it wasn‘t my favorite, it was her usual style which I enjoy. It was just a little too perfect happy ending for me. One of the main characters got on my nerves a bit until the middle/end. #fiction #lianemoriarty
This book started off strong, I got through the first half really quickly and enjoyed the character development. The second half was really slow and felt unnecessary in parts.
This was surprisingly engrossing and wonderful. It felt like the timing it was read, fit some of the issues I was ruminating on, but in a positive light. A hypnotist, her boyfriend, his stalker, and his son. Sounds like a melodrama, but it is a study of the psyche that is informative and capable of remaining humorous. Well thought out plot, and development. #recentlyread #enjoyableread #nospoilers
8-17-20: My 61st finished book of 2020! I liked this one for the most part I just wanted a little more from the ending. ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 #thehypnotistslovestory #lianemoriarty 👍🏼📖#️⃣6️⃣1️⃣
I really enjoy reading Liane Moriarty‘s books. This one has been on my shelf waiting to be read for a few years now. I think the front cover of my copy is a bit drab and unappealing. Luckily I don‘t judge a book by its cover 😀
Don't know how I feel about this one. The premise was good and the writing was enjoyable, but something was missing.
#tothelefttotheleft thanks for the tag @JoScho

I have now read all of Liane Moriarty‘s books and this is my least favorite. I give it 4 stars but it was 50 pages too long. Moriarty always does a wonderful job of taking relationships and adding mystery and misunderstandings and then brings everything to a satisfying conclusion. This was a sweet love story about a hypnotist and her boyfriend that must deal with his feelings about his dead wife and his ex-girlfriend that stalks them. #audiobaking
Meh. Not terrible, but not great either. There are no big secrets to be revealed in this book like many of Moriarty's novels. It is exactly what the title claims...a love story of a hypnotherapist that is complicated by a jaded ex-lover. Firmly in the chick lit category.
“Its very awkwardness and awfulness made out somehow essentially human. It was one of those rare, poignant, pure moments that encapsulate everything that was wonderful and tragic about life.”
“Having a baby had been like starting a demanding new job and beginning a passionate love affair and moving to a new country with a different language and culture all at the same time. The baby filled her mind, her heart and her senses.”
#GratefulReads - Books Gifted to You: I‘ve never had a reading friend in my day-to-day life space. That‘s why I belong to several book clubs and put energy into Litsy. When one of my co-workers made a bookish comment one day, my heart skipped a beat! ‘OMG, are you a reader?‘ I gushed about books for the next several days and then I bought her a book. Guess what happened next? She bought me one back (the tagged book)! Be still my heart!
Yes! Well done Moriarty!
This was such a refreshing read. While our hypnotist Ellen is falling in love with the widower, Patrick, she quickly learns of his ever-looming stalker.
Loved all of the characters in this book, appreciated the lightheartedness, the insights into hypnotism, the love stories, and even the ending! This does not usually happen for me with romance!
Such a well crafted plot and characters. Highly recommend.
“I‘ve heard that‘s all very ‘in‘ at the moment.”
Reading this page SO reminded me of me with my mother.
As if Buddhism and mindfulness are new concepts.
This is my second Moriarity and I‘ve enjoyed them both. This is written first person, and I appreciated being in these particular characters‘ heads. I enjoy staging simple photos with a book and I realize it makes me consider the story in another way, by determining what I should use. Today, the exercise had a superb payoff as I had overlooked a joke the author made and I laughed out loud as I was setting up this shot. #BookNerdBliss
1. I love the clematis I got my mom several mother‘s days ago, but I also love lilies of all types!
2. Tagged! It was a reread. Just so fun. I find Saskia as fascinating as Ellen does.
3. I just binge-watched Girls Incarnated on Netflix. Also anything 90-day Fiancé on TLC.
4. Shakespeare

Eeeep!! It's finally, finally here (mailbox not big enough, so I had to talk to the management office) and I love everything!! How did you know I ❤️ stuffies and hedgehogs?? 🦔 The candy, the bookmark, the tea, the socks!! And the books, of course the books. 😍📚🧦🎉
Thank you @Gaylagal2 😊 and thank you @TheReadingMermaid for putting together the swap. 💖💋

This may be my favorite Liane Moriarty. I kind of understand how Saskia felt about Patrick. She (properly) horrified me on my first reading.
I‘ve had people hurtfully leave my life - most recently my three best friends from high school when I became depressed - and if I didn‘t have family to lean on, I probably would‘ve lost it, too. (Fortunately, I‘ve made a few other friends now.)
I relate to all the characters more in this one than her others
I found this extremely intriguing... it had some hints of a thriller but still managed to be a “light read” which was an interesting choice for the author. Loved it overall!!
Love that each chapter starts with a quote 👏🏼
Hmmmmmm, this started out quite good but it kind of lost me a bit at the end. I guess it was just too tidy for my tastes 😊 All in all a good summer/beach read though, which is what I needed as I prepped for my move from Texas to Alaska.
I found this at my local thrift shop for a quarter so I'm starting now :) I haven't read any of her books yet.
“Knit not stalk” is my new motto. Liane Moriarty rules the contemporary women‘s fiction genre. This was a well written, well paced and occasionally nuanced exploration of love in different forms and expressions. Everyone ends up happy in the end - it‘s part of the contract. 4 stars
Not my favourite of Moriaty‘s but good for #anglophileapril #everybreatheyoutake
Set in Australia. J‘adore. Characters? Amazing. Got you feeling things. Yes. Will never say a bad word about liane moriarty
Now I‘ve read them all except for Nine Perfect Strangers! #howjessreadsin2019
I liked it. Although the weirdo in me wanted a grittier story, less of a tidy, happy ending. 😁
This was an unexpected Moriarty story but I really liked it! There wasn‘t a huge plot twist or whodunnit type scenario, but it was very sweet and gentle.
I need to read the book if it‘s going to be a TV series. Admittedly I don‘t watch shows live on basic cable anymore; I usually binge later on, but this would be a show I want to check out as I love #LianeMoriarty and really like Heather Graham.
Finished this on the flight from Charlotte to SAN Francisco. Seemed very drawn out to me. Ends tied a little too neatly. Probably an ok holiday read. Have to say I‘ve enjoyed her later books a lot more. @MrsMalaprop
This is one of many books in our lovely cottage airbnb. Seems like a good vacation read, and I enjoyed what I've read of Liane Moriarty so far.
I tried, I‘m halfway through the book and I‘m just bored. With Halloween approaching fast I‘m ready to move onto another thriller.
