I‘ve had this in my Audible library for a few years. I finished it yesterday and I‘m sorry it took me so long. I enjoyed it, and I‘ve already started the second book in the series. I was a little hesitant about it after so long because in an #unpopularopinion I thought the Sookie Stackhouse series was mediocre. I‘ve only seen the first episode of #TrueBlood, or maybe only part of it. It‘s been a while. I actually listened to the entire (cont)⬇️

I read this4-book #grave titled series years ago when I had read most of the Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood series & was reading all things Charlaine Harris. It‘s one of my favorites from her. I may have to read it again one of these days.

I read this book back in 2012, and gave it 5 stars. I'm revisiting this book right now. I hope it lives up to my memory!

Harper Connelly has the ability to sense how people died. She's called to the small town of Sarne, Arkansas to find out how a teenage girl died. The people in the town are suspicious of her abilities however, and she does not get a warm welcome there.

Really enjoyed it. The relationship between Harper and her stepbrother Tolliver is really interesting. Obviously Harper relies on her brother a lot. But I got the feeling that Tolliver does need her almost as much 🤔
I just don't know what's up with that cover?!

I got this from the library today. I really need a break from those short stories by Ted Chiang (too many amazing ideas)!
I've never read the Sookie Stackhouse series, but I enjoyed the True Blood TV show (up to a point ;-)

I didn‘t love the main character or her brother, but a lot of the minor characters were rich & interesting. I enjoyed the mystery, even if it was a little obvious. I thought Harper‘s special skill was interesting & I‘ll read more in this series. 3.5 stars!

PS.. I read a portion of the graphic novel after getting about halfway through the book. I don‘t recommend it. I didnt like the drawings & it kind of ruined my mental images of the characters.

I enjoyed this book it was fun. I guessed the killer right away, and spent so many pages yelling at the MC. The writing is not Harris‘s best but like I said it was fun. Some people said this was dark, I disagree. I found this very cozy.

Charlaine Harris is really hit or miss for me but I really enjoyed this one! I‘ll definitely be reading the other three. I‘m interested to see how Harper and Tolliver develop.

One of the best books I have rese in 2019. I expected it to be different...perhaps more corny or predictable. But I was SO wrong!

I just realized this is the first book I have read in a month and a half. May was a tough month reading wise for me but im.happy I was able to finish something. This was also a great book to help me work on getting out of my funk. I recommend it to anyone who needs an easy read.

I finished one of my summer projects already (guys who am i?!?!?) And now that a nice storm is coming in I'm relaxing with my favorite summer drink and finishing this bad boy. Cheers to a productive Saturday my friends xoxo

Day two of self care

May is mental health awareness month and as I've posted briefly before I was having a period of major anxiety and depression. I've been told I have to work on my self care. So here I am, in a coffee face mask, soaking in a lush bath taking care of myself. I hope you all do the same. Love xoxox

New book and a berry smoothie, it‘s a good morning. Don‘t mind my friend, he wanted a sip too.

To be honest, this want my favorite cozy. I had a hard time connecting with the story and found most of the characters to be unlikable. However, it was an easy read... just not my cup of tea.

First book of 2019!! 🤓

Just got into bed, so it‘s time for my kindle and an easy mystery. On one hand, I hope I can stay up and finish this bad boy (recently started it), and on the other hand, I need to get some sleep! #readathon
Either I‘ll be back here around the time Dewey‘s is over, or it‘ll be much later than that if I crash.

I have been in a bit of print slump, so I have been listening to a lot of audiobooks. I reread all 4 books in this series and still wish she had written a few more. Harper was struck by lightening as a teen and can locate the dead and feel how they died. Along with her stepbrother and manager, Tolliver, she travels the country making a living using her skill. She gets involved in mysteries surrounding those she locates. This series should 👇🏻

My favorite was actually Grave Sight. It's a darker, edgier series by Harris. And it was perfect for an audiobook. I can't wait to get back to the series❤️

I figured out the ending.

But overall, this is still a Pick. I liked it better than the Aurora Teagarden series, in fact. It's darker & edgier.

Looking forward to the rest of this series, & I will continue listening to them - I enjoy her books in this format.

It's another rainy day, so another chance for a good cozy mystery while I putter around my home.

I forgot to review this one when I finished it back in October. I didn't really like the last few books of the Sookie Stackhouse series, so I was hesitant to pick-up another by Charlaine Harris. But after meeting her in NoLA, I decided to give this one a try, and I'm glad I did. It reads more like a cozy mystery, but slightly darker and with a supernatural twist. Harper was refreshingly cynical 😆 and it's a quick little read!

My #FunFridayPhoto is the first book in the Harper Connelly series by Charlaine Harris. I didn't even know that I liked mysteries until I read her Sookie books, but this series cemented it for me.
