This month‘s FOTL book was a fun little read. I probably wouldn‘t have picked it up on my own so I‘m glad it was chosen for the book club. If you‘re an Austen fan and looking for a short, escapist brain candy of a read maybe give this a go.

Jane Hayes has always been obsessed with Pride and Prejudice, and is looking for her Mr. Darcy. When her aunt passes away, she finds out that her aunt has left her a trip to an immersive Jane Austen-themed resort as part of her will. This was a very light, fun read!

Tonight‘s #7DayHyggeChallege prompt is “Watch a film with family or friends with lots of cozy blankets and hot beverages.” I‘m operating solo & it‘s a little too humid tonight to get too cozy, so I‘m drinking leftover sparkling cider. I was going to watch the Barbie movie (which I haven‘t seen yet) but since I‘m reading my chapters for the #ChloeGongReadalong while watching, I picked an old favorite.💖🎬🍿

(1) Yes, my sister used to have a writer friend and I got a signed book of his once. Unfortunately, the book didn't turn out to be my cup of tea.
(2) No, not accidentally.
(3) Austenland maybe? But only for a few days, then I'd come back to post on Litsy, of course 😁
Thanks for the tag @The_Penniless_Author 😊
#200PnPcovers #embroidery @CrowCAH @mabell One of my all time favourite movies is Austenland, based on the book by Shannon Hale, and there‘s a fun embroidery scene where Jennifer Coolidge‘s character complains about having to sit there for hours and sew - I always think how I‘d have loved that acceptable lady‘s work - I love to cross stitch and can do it for hours on end.
I read this forever ago (in my Pre-Litsy days) and spent the afternoon rereading this. Jane has an obsession with Jane Austen, and probably more specifically Pride and Prejudice and Mr Darcy. When she has an opportunity to vacation in a role playing Austenesque estate, of course she jumps at it!
Filled with romance, charm, and of course Austen banter, this is perfect brain candy. Originally published 2007. #19822022
An easy, simple read. Relatable for any of us Austen fans who are unabashedly in live with Darcy.
I have a hard time believing she wouldn‘t immediately like the clear “Darcy-alike” character but other than that it was really cute.
#bookspinbingo
I feel like I got whiplash from how often Jane's emotions changed. The story was entertaining, but I feel like it could have been done better. It didn't have enough Austen feel to it. I wasn't immersed in the story. It felt ridiculously fake, which might actually be the whole point of the book. I was expecting it to be better than it was.
Such a fun read! An absolute must for Darcy fans!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lady Jane will watch over my shelf of (finished) #botm books.
Reread for my IRL book club. I love this movie so much that I couldn‘t help being impatient with the book this time around because there wasn‘t enough Miss Charming in it. Tally-ho! 😂
Fab fab time at @sprainedbrain ‘s #Pemberlittens watch party of Austenland tonight and also fab was this Black Girl Magic Sparkling Brut🥂 Highly recommend. @Chelleo @Chrissyreadit @HOTPock3tt @Linsey
Zoom invites have been sent for tomorrow‘s Austenland watch party! 🥳
Omg—such a quick read, but leaves me with life-altering questions. I‘ve loved the movie for ages, put off reading the book for silly reasons, but now excited for a livestream chat on Booktube about both!!

On Saturday, 9 am pst if you also LOVE AUSTENLAND! 🥰🤗🤩
While I‘m tagging... I‘m going to host some Austen watch parties for Valentine‘s weekend next month. I know others have romantic plans with their partners, but my boyfriends are all fictional, so...
@mklong suggested Austenland watch parties, I always watch P&P on Valentine‘s anyway, and it‘s been a few weeks since I watched Emma.

Open to EVERYONE, #PemberLittens or not!
Photo 1: I don‘t know what to say, I‘m speechless😱❤️❤️❤️ @DebinHawaii what did you do? I feel honored with all these gifts! Each item is so pretty wrapped🎁😍that I didn‘t want to open them. So well organized in the box, I need to learn how to do it! You just spoiled me!! There are so many details that definitely I feel in Austenland!! @Chrissyreadit @Sprainedbrain
I will show you photo 2👇
#bookreport Finished 4 books. The Zookeeper‘s Wife had interesting information but felt like there was a lot of unnecessary filler. Has anyone seen the movie? Is it worth watching? The other 3 were all enjoyable reads. #Weekly/MonthlyForecast Looking forward to reading Northanger Abbey with the #PemberLittens a chapter a day this month and working on #LitsyAtoZ with 11 books to go. Need to finish Collected Schizophrenia‘s, hopefully today.
For the knight of Wands I immediately thought of this book. A trip of a lifetime left to her in a will she only has to take the risk and go . This quirky and romantic story is a must for any Austen fans ! #tarttakeover
Finally watched the movie and I thought it was adorable so decided to check out the book. It was sweet and lighthearted. Many moments of making me laugh out loud. Worth the read. Picked up the second one.
A light-hearted, charming little story. I saw the twists coming, still the book was really entertaining and the ending delightful.
I also liked how the author touched on themes like identity, authenticity and role-playing.
This book was just what I needed after the heavyweight Russian road roller that Doctor Zhivago was 😊
#PemberLittens
Found a second-hand copy 😊

Super quick and super fun read. Jane is obsessed with Mr. Darcy and no boyfriend of hers has even come close to comparing. So due to an older relative that knows her secret obsession off she goes to Austenland where you can live out your Austen inspired fantasy in costume. There was a fun cast of quirky characters. Nothing groundbreaking here, just a plain fun read.

Day 31, the last day of #BiblioMAYnia is #AuthorAcknowledgements
I like a short, punchy, and funny acknowledgement/dedication. I could think of a few, but couldn‘t remember what books they were from 🙄
So here is one that makes me laugh from Austenland. ☺️
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620
Just what I needed before jumping full on into my May TBR 🙂 Light, funny, and endearing, a real pleasure to read. I find it very easy to imagine immersing myself in Austenland as a character playing a role, lost in the beauty and the romance, the language and the scenery. Gus and I are now watching the movie 🐶❤️
This book was fun and funny. Just the light reading experience I needed this weekend. #pemberlittens
Hoping to start and finish this one today so I‘m ready for Sense and sensibility for May 1 😊 And my reading partner today is the ever lovely Princess Ella ❤️ 🐈
This is such a delight tonight!
Austenland cast reunion Zoom get togetherwith the author Shannon Hale! 💕
#PemberLittens
Just a reminder to the #PemberLittens who were interested!
The Austenland reunion starts in about 30 minutes. See Shannon Hale‘s Twitter for more info, but here‘s the link to where we can watch on YouTube! 😊
https://youtu.be/ZBnrzbitR74
I personally can‘t wait to see Mr. Tilney/Mr. Nobley himself, JJ Feild. 😍
Tallyho, Janeites!
Something light and frothy. 😁
Listened to it on audio as a kick off point for #pemberlittens . Next up is Sense and Sensibility!
Watched the movie but hadn‘t read the book. What a great way to kick off our Austen reads! Having it on audio also means being able to listen while I grade. Win! #pemberlittens #janeausten
A fun, lighthearted, silly rom-com perfect for Austen fans. Pre-pandemic, I probably would have rated this a so-so, but it was the perfect fit for my reading tastes lately.
A great way to kick off what is looking like will be a spring and summer of Austen this year with the #PemberLittens! Watching the 🎥 this afternoon.
I need to replenish my Austen tea stash. I still have the container, which now holds a different tea. ☕️ 📖
#booksandtea
@sprainedbrain the enabler is making this happen for/ with the #PemberLittens
I had no idea Watch Party is a thing until like a couple of hours ago - LOL
This 'unprecedented times' surely brings experiences I'd never thought for me.
So EXCITES... Hahaha #KeepLitsyPositive
Post- watch party : that was a BLAST!!
I didn't think I would join the movie events but this was so so Fun! Now, off to download the #ebooks 😍🥰😍
Hey #PemberLittens! So far Austenland is a fun and cute read, but there are definitely some awkward and cringy moments! I don‘t think I could keep up the act very long if it was me. 🤣
Who else plans on watching the movie this weekend?
Omg this movie is adorable and fun. Also, I realize I live under a rock and don‘t watch stuff, but I had no clue that Mr. Tilney himself is in this movie until I started it and there he was. 🥰😂
Tagging #PemberLittens...if anyone wants to do a Facebook watch party tomorrow (or more than 1 to accommodate time zones) ahead of the Twitter reunion, I would be more than happy to host in our private group. This movie begs to be watched with friends.😃
This week was rough. Really rough. I miss reading, and I miss all my Litten friends and hanging out here! I hope things calm down soon. My PT job should ease up by the end of May, and looks like we will have loads of free time at home for the first part of summer. Trying to hang on until then!
Looks like we will be postponing Maya‘s bat mitzvah till next summer, so that is both depressing but freeing at the same time.
Quick tea break with 📖!
First #Pemberlittens book! This is exactly what you would expect, an easy read. There's nothing shameful in light reading and if you are just looking for entertainment this book is a pick; but in conscience I can't rate it more than a so-so... I enjoyed it and it made me laughed out loud a couple of times. It's one of those guilty pleasures that we all love (and need) from time to time.
I absolutely cannot get over how charming this was!! ♥️ I started out reading this for the #PemberLittens group yet I finished it in one sitting!! It‘s really well done on audio and was hilarious at times. The Austen references contrasting with the real life was so much fun. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️/5
This was so cute!! Aww, I really liked it. And now I‘m psyched to see the movie and discuss it with fellow #Pemberlittens ! 💗
I‘m going to hesitantly give this a pick, because I think that if you like Jane Austen, you will find something to like about this book. It‘s pure fluff and a fast read, with some good quotes about believing good things can and should happen to you. 3.5⭐️ I can‘t wait to watch the movie because I‘ve always been a fan of Kerri Russell!!

Hey, #PemberLittens! @jenniferw88 shared the tweet above from author Shannon Hale, and I‘m wondering if anyone else wants to start a little early with our club. 😂
I really enjoyed Austenland, but I‘ve not seen the movie. Thinking of remedying this situation ahead of the reunion on 4/28. Anyone else?
Tagging all 84 people who have shown interest!
Also: we have 73 members in the GR group & a bunch on the slack channel. New members welcome! 😃
FAO #PemberLittens @sprainedbrain !
Well this book was not the best or derpest thing I have ever read. But still...entertaining...
