My immediate response upon reading that last sentence was “thems fightin‘ words” and I‘m wondering what muppet trauma the author lived through to have any kind of bad opinion of them…

Then again I haven‘t watched Muppet Christmas Carol since I was very young so maybe it‘s not as good as I remember 😄🤷‍♀️

BookmarkTavern I just watched it last night, and it‘s definitely as good as I remember. 🤣 5d
MaureenMc I concur! It‘s a wonderful adaptation of Dickens‘ work. And Michael Caine is perfection! 5d
Kenyazero It‘s definitely still awesome as an adult (but it is missing a song now because someone thought removing a part of the story would be a good idea) 5d

Soft pick, tbh. While I liked the brief intro and history of graffiti/street art - it didn‘t feel like quite enough. Also the author has a very definite aesthetic and I don‘t feel like this book had a very diverse or wide range of styles that I‘m used to seeing in street art collections. Still, enjoyed for what it was. 😃

My HOA finally came around to the idea of a Little Free Library for our community! An excited board member expedited the process and got things set up. Spent a good few hours yesterday with her painting our LFL and hopefully we‘ll eventually have a mural on the back wall and plant a fairy garden around the stump it‘s set upon. I couldn‘t resist adding some books today even tho the official unveiling is later this week! 📚💕 #LFL #littlefreelibrary

This was a hug in book form an absolute delight to read! And the fact that it‘s pretty much fan fiction for the Princess Bride makes it even better imho. Basic premise: what if Buttercup had not believed the rumors of Westley‘s death and had gone off to save him? Adventure, pirates, self discovery, true love, and dragons to boot!

I am loving the new monthly wrap up feature on #thestorygraph - love me some stats!
Looks like my reading went down in July (which makes sense since I spent a good part of the month catching up on shows) 😄

zezeki I'm seeing this everywhere on Litsy, but my Storygraph does not look this, where can I get this one? 😅 5mo
Eyelit @zezeki go to your stats page and select a month from the drop down at the top (default is just ‘month‘ so you‘ll have to select one) and then the view monthly wrap up box should appear. 5mo

zezeki @Eyelit that's what I'm doing on my laptop and on my phone, but it looks the same as it always was. 😅 So, I'm not sure if this new look is an iPhone thing, or maybe a browser thing? 😅 5mo
Eyelit @zezeki I don‘t think it‘ll show up on a laptop/desktop computer. I think it only shows on phone. It could be it‘s iPhone specific? Idk tbh. It‘s def worth emailing StoryGraph support (they are remarkably quick to respond) 5mo
zezeki @Eyelit it must be then iPhone specific, because I'm using Android phone. Maybe in a few months, Android will be updated as well. 🤞🏼😅 5mo
peanutnine @zezeki it works on android too! I don't have an iPhone and was able to get mine. Once you get to your monthly stats page you have to click 'view month wrap up graphics' and it'll generate your summary and collages 5mo

If you‘re looking for a cute and cozy manga you can‘t go wrong with this sweet (and short) series about a kitten rescued by a guy who used to be yakuza but now runs a rescue animal cafe. Heartwarming and funny at turns. Would recommend. 😻

What a powerful and wrenching memoir. It depicts the authors journey in therapy seeking approval for HRT. The first therapist she meets with (and ends up seeing for 6 months) is the worst one possible for her. A long read (over 900 pages) but it really does fly by. I found myself angry on Emma‘s behalf many times and I‘m glad she finally found the right therapist.

The above quote is basically the underlying mission statement for the photographers featured in this book. It‘s so rare that I get to see a photography collection featuring women - and I loved that all of these photographers are all centered on focusing on nature, activism, and conservation. Most are new to me and I‘ll be seeking out more of their work, for sure.

CatLass007 I don‘t know whether to cry or throw a fit. This picture makes me weep. And want to throw punches. 9mo
Eyelit @CatLass007 exactly! 9mo
CatLass007 I think it‘s brave of you to even look at this book and post this picture. Some people would object to this post because they find it offensive. I don‘t find the photo offensive. I find the people who are destroying these animals, this planet, offensive at the very least. I hope that makes sense. And when I say you are brave, I know that I wouldn‘t be able to look at the book for very long. And the women photographers!! I am in awe of (cont) ⬇️ 9mo
CatLass007 the way they expose the monsters to people like me who would prefer to look away! 9mo

Ok, so I‘m finding a lot of this book to be meandering and pretentious AF (and I‘m somewhat feeling like that‘s a little bit of the point, but idk tbh)… but little nuggets like this keep me reading. I feel this description is so very apt.
