I love Spin Day!!!!! @TheAromaofBooks Thank you for giving me something exciting to wake up to! Looks like this is shaping up into a month of rereading for me since #Doublespin is a group read, and I‘m joining #hashtagbrigade for Dracula which is an old favorite, and #Bookspin is a seasonal mood read and I recently picked up a copy of The Turn of the Screw, another old favorite, with this amazing pulp cover so it feels like fate to reach for that.

DGRachel That Tor cover of The Turn of the Screw is AMAZING! 😂 1mo

Good morning, everyone! The moment you have all been waiting for!! Our official #BookSpin number is NINE! Our official #DoubleSpin number is FOUR!! I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at everyone‘s lists & am really looking forward to seeing your reviews!!

My next post will be the #BookSpinBingo card. I am NOT tagging anyone on that post!! If you want to bingo, please just check my profile for the card. This saves me having to double tag ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont‘d) everyone/keep track of who wants to bingo and who doesn‘t!!

I use the same tag list for the entire year, so if you would like to be added or removed, please just let me know. It takes me a while to tag everyone (there are over 200 of you!!!) so I will add “FINISHED” to the last tag batch so you know whether or not I missed you. If I did, it was completely inadvertent. Sometimes I just spell someone‘s username wrong. ⬇

Aladdin: A Cut-Paper Book | Agnese BARUZZI

Pickpick

#SchoolSpirit Day 28: This Cut #Paper Book Aladdin is hands-down stunning. The primary focus, here, I believe, is making the story come alive through the shadowy edges, the fine lines, and the intricate lace-like edges that are enough to make any bibliophile sigh in delight – and for that, I commend Agnese Baruzzi‘s vision. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-9PD

@TieDyeDude The video you posted about Canon was so interesting - I love learning about those musical influences hiding in plain sight. The first thing that popped in my mind for classical pieces being sampled was Modest Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain from Fantasia, which has always been a favorite of mine. It comes out every Halloween without exception. I guess Remy Ma is also a fan: she used it in her song Whutever...

Billypar And as a bonus, when I was trying to find the right track, I realized that another one of Remy Ma's songs from the same album has the chord progression from Canon! Or at least it sounds like it: https://open.spotify.com/track/7vA0nj5CIcPIYMarUjqvxi?si=ob-rE_4aRVixZ8jI9RdOvQ 3mo

I was intrigued by the nesting doll style of so many of these stories. The roots lie in oral storytelling tradition, and I could imagine how these stories might be performed and where they could be embellished for the audience. Overall enjoyable reading.
