This is both my #doublespin for March and the March pick for the Morbidly Curious Bookclub. I didn‘t realize that it‘s built around the kidnapping of two young girls, but as soon as the girls were approached by a man, my whole body went “nope” and turned off the audiobook. I can‘t bear to see how it turns out. Posting my DNF for the #bookspin record. I see high praise for it here, but it‘s not for me.

Adventures of Eovaai | Eliza Fowler Haywood
post image

(1736) Set in a time before the world was remade for Adam's arrival, this is the story of the princess Eovaai who is deceived by an evil counselor and loses her kingdom and very nearly her Virtue. It's a strange book that lurches from utopian treatise to Arabian Nights pastiche to amatory-fiction shenanigans, with occasional flashes of brilliance and humor (both intentional and un-) and a generous serving of WTF?!?

This is my March #DoubleSpin

#Weeklyforecast trying to finish up the #WP25 this week, not sure I can make it! The tagged is my #doublespin for this month should finish it today
I started Chuck Tingle yesterday and I am obsessed, then going back to A Little Trickerie which I was excited for but which has proven not as easy to get started on.

2 days ago my backyard was covered in 6in" of snow; today outdoor reading--gotta love Colorado! ?

Starting March's #doublespin

TheBookHippie Happens here too! Snow in the forecast for the week though! 🙃 3d
TheBookgeekFrau @TheBookHippie So far, no snow in the forecast here. But then again, the forecast is a mere suggestion 😵‍💫😂 3d
bookandbedandtea That's one of the best things about Colorado! ❄️☀️❄️☀️ 3d

TheBookgeekFrau @bookandbedandtea Yes! Makes it hard to get dressed some days though! 🤣 3d
bookandbedandtea @TheBookgeekFrau Indeed. Layers are your friend! 2d
TheBookgeekFrau @bookandbedandtea I learned that year 1!! Also, windbreaker/rain gear always in the car along with a hat, scarf, and gloves. I used to joke that every outing was like packing for an overnight stay; now it's just normal 😁 2d

Now I have read all her books. This was one dysfunctional family! Best part of the story was it took place in northern NJ where I spent most of my life. I knew all the towns…kind of like a visit home.
#Bookspin and this one #Doublespin read.
@TheAromaofBooks

MaGoose I'll have to check this book out. I lived in northern New Jersey for the first 24 years of my life. I still live in New Jersey, but further south. 4d
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! 4d
AmyG @MaGoose It‘s in Bergen Co. 4d

MemoirsForMe @AmyG @MaGoose If this book is for us “Jersey Girls,” I may have to read it too. Born and raised there, but further south. Exit 9 off the NJ Turnpike 😁 3d
ncsufoxes @AmyG I was born in Bergen County. I lived in Jersey City till I was 4. Then we moved to the western part of the state, near Phillipsburg (on the border of PA, near Lafayette College). I loved Hello, Beautiful so I‘ll need to add this one to my list. 3d
Read4life Ok. This is now on my list. I was born & raised in Passaic Co. Lived there for 26 years. 3d
MaGoose @Read4life I lived in Clifton with my parents until I was 24. When my parents moved to Ocean County, I moved with them. I still live in the house my parents bought 46.5 years ago. 3d
AmyG @MemoirsForMe @ncsufoxes @Read4life Not so much a Jersey book but more of a Betgen County one. @MaGoose Clifton! My sister and BIL‘s business was there. 3d
MaGoose @AmyG Wow. I haven't really gone back there since I moved with my parents to Ocean County 3d

I swear, I must have restarted this book five times and very nearly gave up on it, but I'm so glad I didn't! That's no knock on the book at all, it's just very detailed and that doesn't usually work for me on audio while I'm commuting. Once I figured that out and planned my listening time, I was hooked. (The narration is fantastic!)

#bookspin #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks

JacqMac I have these two on my TBR. I have kinda been waiting for the third one before I start. But I‘m starting to wonder if there will be one. lol 4d

The book Zuckerberg does not want people to read. The author cannot promote it but Macmillan can sell it- The story is on my IG if anyone is interested.
Anyone one else hear about this book?
#taxtherich #noologarchy

seibelsays It is WILD that the author can't promote the book. 6d
Gissy #BookSpinBingo #DoubleSpin #17 -book from BOM @TheAromaOfBooks #ISPyBingo January (“a novel”) #FictionalTraveler January-someplace cold @JulieClair #GoodReadsAroundTheYear prompt #1 (some image with letter A,T or Y- T= tower😜) #UltimateReadingChallenge2025 prompt #35 =standalone @Faranae 6d
jen_the_scribe I have not heard of this one, but this is one of many reasons why I love Litsy. Word of mouth gets more books read than anything else. Stacked, and I plan to share my insights on it when I do read it. 6d

TheBookgeekFrau I ordered it Saturday right after I saw something on instagram about the author not being able to promote it on Meta platforms. 6d
Bookwormjillk It was in a bookshop.org email when it came out. I put it on library hold based on the blurb, but this makes me want to buy a copy. 6d
lil1inblue I stacked the book as soon as I read your first sentence. My loathing of Zuckerberg (and most tech bros) knows no bounds. I will be buying multiple copies of this book. 6d
DogMomIrene My library doesn‘t have a copy yet. I hit that Notify Me tag in Libby and I‘ll let that cook. If I get itchy to read this one, I‘ll buy it. Because Zuck just disgusts me. I‘m surprised more of his employees aren‘t telling their tales. I‘m thinking there‘s a market for them and I‘d guess different people from different areas with various levels of access would have things to share🤞🏼 6d
Cuilin There is a TikTok account reading excerpts from it!!!! 6d
Deblovestoread As soon as I read she couldn‘t promote it I ordered a copy. B&N had it at $5 off when I ordered mine. 6d
TheAromaofBooks Great progress!! 5d

I stalled in reading this because of personal stuff, but today seemed like the right day to get back to it. I read 150 pages of it in two big gulps, as usual with these books. It feels like a good place to leave the series, though I'm actually not sure if it's meant as a conclusion or not.

It was my #DoubleSpin book, though it still leaves me in search of a #BookSpinBingo. I really am not doing it on purpose this time...!

Pickpick

My first five star read of the year! I could have read another 470 pages of this one. I loved the ending, I loved everything leading up to it and I loved every single character - even the despicable ones.

My #DoubleSpin for March

AmyG I loved this one, too. It would make a fun movie. 7d
JamieArc I agree with @AmyG and also would love to see this as a series. I need to know what happens next to these women! 7d
staci.reads I loved this one! 7d
