My #doublespin for November was this biography of a woman who could have been Elizabeth I‘s heir, was raised to consider herself in that light, used as a pawn, and then, when she finally chose a husband for herself without James I‘s permission, was thrown in the Tower of London. A bit of a chatty style but obviously well researched. I enjoyed it. Portraits of her as a toddler, teenager (in white) and adult. @TheAromaofBooks

I'm still finding myself a little lost at times; there's so many similar names, and I feel like I need to draw a dang family tree including everyone's birth names and courtesy names.

Still, I know I'll get the hang of it as the story goes on, so I'm trying not to sweat the details.

I really liked the Yi City story in the end, even if it's tragic.

shanaqui Ah, and that was my #DoubleSpin!

Just four books to finish for a blackout, too. I think that's shaping up to be the most promptly I've ever finished my bingo card.

This was such a rich and fun book. What a fascinating and important life Mr. Cooper has led. I think he‘s done just about everything and has punctuated those moments with birdsong.

I recommend listening to the audiobook. It is read by the author and uses examples of the bird calls provided by the Cornell Laboratory. #bookspinbingo #doublespin

This book has long been on my TBR. I also wanted a stereo read with audio because well, Stanley Tucci. Of course I loved it. My DNA tells me I‘m all but 2% from Celtic stock, and I imagine my wee Nordic bit accounts for some many times a great grandmother having a wild night as a lass with some rogue from a cool looking boat who was in search of a pint. But Stanley sure makes me wish I were of Italian heritage.

marleed @SamAnne I am indeed an Irish Butte girl and I love love love that history☘️💚. Aren‘t John‘s porkchop sandwiches (uptown location, obviously) the best!? In all my years I‘ve never even contemplated a porkchop sandwich anywhere but Butte - if indeed they are even offered anywhere but Butte🤣 5d

This was my #DoubleSpin for November, and I'm glad I finally read it. I'm now caught up on the #Outlander books and am only awaiting the final season of the show and the final book in the series. Perhaps I'll try something from the “Methadone List.“ But first, I need to read my #BookSpin book for the month.

#doublespin Moist von Lipwig is one of my favourite Discworld characters. This book is smart - really wry look at the world of finance.

I‘m on a roll this weekend. This was a fun fake-dating holiday rom-com. It‘s spicy, and more importantly, filled with great characters and solid writing. I don‘t think anything billionaire romance truly feels believable, but the fantasy is fun and you can‘t help but root for Fable and Wilder. This is all the NetGalley backlist title I chose for #doublespin

I got this as a blind date book for banned books week from the library and it might be one of the most incredible stories I‘ve read. The Walls children define perseverance. The relationship they have with their parents is incredibly complicated yet so full of love. I‘m astounded about what they‘ve gone through. I‘m so thankful Jeanette is brave enough to tell her story; this will sit with me for a long time. #doublespin
