I read this book for #FoodandLit. I found it hard to read because it felt like one long paragraph after another because of no quotes when the characters were speaking. It was hard for me to get used to. I found it hard to understand what was going on. And still the ending left me with so many questions. I wanted to yell at the main character a few times as well. Overall, I thought the book was ok. #Read2025 @Texreader @Catsandbooks @DieAReader

#Naturalitsy #HyggeHourReadathon

My #HyggeHour is being spent with the tagged book that I saw on @TieDyeDude ‘s post & my library had. It works for #FoodAndLit #Ireland & looks adorable so I was happy my library had it. I‘m also going to start Magic For Marigold for #ChildrensClassicRead2025 I‘m also watching the new Shonda Rhimes series The Residence which is fun so far, drinking tea & having a couple cream soda Dum-Dums.

Not too excited ⬇️

DebinHawaii … that tomorrow is Monday & it‘s another busy week ahead with 2 trips to Hilo & the world at large (especially our country) continues to be a s@#% show, but otherwise I am okay. 😬 I do appreciate this #Hygge wind-down time on Sundays before the madness starts. 12h
TheBookHippie Shit show indeed… I like the pause as well. 12h
AllDebooks @DebinHawaii I'm so glad it helps reset you for tge week ahead. Honestly, I find it a real sanity saver. I've started incorporating it into routine on really stressful days. Even 10-15 minutes helps. 😊 10h
kspenmoll Deb, I hope last night‘s hygiene hour reset you for the week? It certainly helps me helps me with perspective and distressing. I hope this week with all its craziness gives you moments where you can breathe and feel calm. 8h

I‘m mostly better from the stomach bug—it knocked me out for two days (ugh!). So we took son out for his last night in town before flying back to college tomorrow (😞). We went to our local Irish place and I had Guinness beef stew and soda bread. I was nervous about my stomach so I ate only some of it. But it was delicious. And I love soda bread. I‘m going to have to figure out how to make it or find a bakery where I can buy it regularly. ⬇️

AnnCrystal Glad you are doing better 🙏💝...😋👍. (edited) 2d
GingerAntics I‘m glad you‘re feeling better. We‘ve made soda bread before. Depending on the recipe, it can be easy or it can be really weird. When it turns out, it‘s great. I‘ll have to check to see which recipes have worked for us. 2d

January 2025 Book#6
I think the opening of this story was amazing but then it was like forgotten, not well connected with the rest of the story. I liked the characters and the mystery/horror that was hidden in these mountains that seem possessed Nick. But then, the story was dragged to explain all this possession which concluded with an ambiguous open ending. I think the idea was terrific but maybe needed some editing? 3⭐️

Gissy I have another book by this author, let‘s see if I like it. 4d

Texreader I thought about reading this book for #Netherlands but I‘m not into horror anymore. Looks like I made a good choice not to read it. I think I would have been disappointed too. 4d

Read these to Jace just in time for #foodandlit and St. Patrick‘s Day. The tagged book was really funny, and the one about St. Patrick himself was very informative for a children‘s book. Thanks for the recommendations @TheBookHippie ! 🤗

Last Sunday, I made boxty using this recipe: https://www.theguardian.com/food/2020/mar/11/how-to-cook-the-perfect-boxty-recip... and seafood coddle, based on various online sources. Very nice. And I have leftover buttermilk, which I should use to make scones. I doubt they'll be as nice as the ones I had in Ireland, but I'll try.

4.5/5 ⭐️ Loved this romance set at an Irish Pub. Excellent ADHD and OCD rep too.

I made Irish soda bread and shepherd's pie for St. Patrick's Day. Delicious and comforting! 🇮🇪🍀
