This was one of my earliest cassette tapes. It came about after the success of his recording of The Itsy Bitsy Spider for an AIDS benefit album. This collection is not readily available these days, but I was able to find a copy to download, and what a blast from the past! 😆

The first “ber“ of the year means autumnal equinox music for me. If interested, I have a playlist on Spotify. 💛💜🧡

For #tuesdaytunes, this is my song history from Amazon music. Two songs I listened to recently that I never heard before were: Mine by Sleep Token and Changes by Black Sabbath. I liked Mine and I liked Changes. I heard Yungblud sing Changes for the Ozzy Osbourne tribute at the MTV VMAs recently and I didn‘t care for his version so I decided to play the original version because I‘ve never heard it before. Sleep Token is a new artist to me.
I adore John Carney's films, and I was finally able to watch his latest, Flora and Son, since subscribing to AppleTV. While it is probably my least favorite of his, and the least musical, it was a good story, and it had Joseph Gordon Levitt, which elevates any project IMO

JGL also covers a Tom Waits song in the movie, so, bonus points 😜

I came upon Japanese composer/musician Stomu Yamashta due to director Nicholas Roeg's inclusion of his music in the soundtrack to the film "The Man Who Fell to Earth," finding his avant-jazz tracks the most interesting on the album.
His stuff is hard to find, but I did track down his album Raindog a while ago, and recently this one, Sea & Sky, a 1985 album variously categorised as ambient jazz, orchestral jazz, ⬇️
