For #tuesdaytunes, here‘s some songs I listened to on my Alexa Echo Dot after I got out of the shower the other night.
For #tuesdaytunes, here‘s some songs I listened to on my Alexa Echo Dot after I got out of the shower the other night.
Here‘s what I listened to recently.
On Hoopla, I listened to the last album that Slipknot put out. Now, I‘ve listened to all of their albums. I like their older music better.
On my Amazon Echo Dot in my room, I listened to Third Eye Blind after I got finished taking a shower one night. I like having music on when I‘m getting ready for bed too. I love my Echo Dot.

I‘m subscribed to Apple Music and this is just some of my Favorites that I added on Sunday night. I ended up with 387 songs and I still want to add more. My music taste is all over the place. I‘m stressed out because I have a lot going on at my house right now and it‘s throwing off my routine so listening to the music and favoriting the songs made me feel better. It‘s been a while since I‘ve sat down and just listened to music.
#tuesdaytunes
I‘m subscribed to Apple Music on my phone and I discovered that if you‘re subscribed to Apple Music, you can Favorite Songs and it makes a playlist of them and automatically adds them to your device without having to buy the song so I did that on Sunday night and listened to some songs I added and I added my iTunes library to Windows Media Player. I listened to 1 song by Brokencyde and some other songs on my computer.
#tuesdaytunes
This is the first time I did automatic writing and got titles of songs. I like music so I thought that was pretty cool but I don‘t know if this means that I‘m going to be hearing these songs again. Well, I heard 2 of the songs on TV last night so probably. I‘m still trying to process what happened.
#tuesdaytunes
I got this email from Taylor Bradshaw inviting me to his private discord group and here, I‘m showing my response to the email and his response. I‘m nervous about it. I‘m a very quiet person. I don‘t know if I‘m going to have anything helpful to contribute to his music project or if I‘ll be saying very much during the Zoom meetings. I don‘t know if this will be the right fit for me but I‘ll try it out and see.

Here‘s my 2024 #spotifywrapped. I didn‘t want to wait until #tuesdaytunes to post this. I liked the music I listened to during January and February the most. I got Amazon‘s Echo Pop for Christmas and I bought 1 for Christmas during a Black Friday sale for my mom, my mom‘s boyfriend and my brother so they each have their own. I need to set it up so I can try it out. It‘s smaller than the Amazon Alexa speaker and it takes up less space.
I forgot to post the music I listened to one night before bed on Spotify for #tuesdaytunes so I‘m posting it on Weds instead. I listened to the cd by Clint Black because I own the CD but I‘m gonna get rid of it because I don‘t really care for the songs on it. I like his older music better. I skipped 3 songs because I wasn‘t in the mood for them: What Might Have Been, She‘s In Love With The Boy and Watermelon Crawl.
My 10 favorite albums of 2024
From top left to right….
The Canary Tapes - Sun Jr.
From the Source - Causa Sui
Songs of a Lost World - The Cure
Hovvdy- Hovvdy
Tiger Blood - Waxahatchee
Deeper Well -Katie Musgraves
GNX - Kendrick Lamar
Passage du Desir - Johnny Blue Skies ( Sturgill Simpson)
Manning Fireworks - M J Lenderman
Frogs in Boiling Water - DIIV

Taylor Bradshaw released a digital discography of all of his albums available to download yesterday and I bought it. He said this in an email yesterday,”PS. Listening to those old demos last night had me cracking up—I can‘t believe I said some of those raunchy lyrics out loud 🤣”. Lol. I‘m looking forward to listening to the albums again.

Last weekend, I watched this livestream from Taylor Bradshaw on Facebook. He wanted to have a post Thanksgiving livestream to celebrate his Black Friday sale and just hang out with all of us for 1 hour. It was a livestream concert. He performed some of his songs and he had a Q&A portion of the livestream.
#tuesdaytunes
All I‘ve been listening to is Linkin Park. I found so much old concert footage on YouTube with Chester performing with the band and I‘m looking forward to watching it. I‘ve never seen them live. I‘ve only watched their Live In Texas DVD but it‘s made me want to watch their other concerts. I grew up listening to Linkin Park. I like their older music that they did with Chester better than their new music.
#tuesdaytunes
Yay! I just ordered this bundle of live albums from Taylor Bradshaw. He‘s an independent musician from NYC who makes folk music. I‘m so looking forward to this.
#tuesdaytunes
I was listening to Taylor Bradshaw‘s music all afternoon yesterday. I listened to the CD I ordered from him, streamed the album and watched the concert film. The bonus track is a cover song called “I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor” by Arctic Monkeys. Taylor Bradshaw is an independent folk musician from NYC. He doesn‘t have a record deal yet. I like all of his songs from the album but I think the cover song was my favorite.
#tuesdaytunes
I just found out that Linkin Park is dropping a new music video on Friday on their YouTube channel. It looks like it‘s another song off of their new album coming out in November.
#tuesdaytunes
For #tuesdaytunes, I spent my afternoon watching the MTV VMAs. I enjoyed it. I had it recorded on Fubo TV but it cut off towards the end before the last award was given out so I searched for it and streamed the last few minutes of it and I was able to finish watching it. I like watching the VMAs. It‘s usually a 3 hour show.
Yay! I ordered Taylor Bradshaw‘s new live album because I got early bird access to it. I‘m so excited. Now, I have a new album and a new concert film to look forward to as well as a bonus track. All I have to do is download and stream it. I‘ll be listening when I get a chance to. I ordered the deluxe edition of the album because it comes with more stuff. Taylor Bradshaw is an independent folk musician that I‘m supporting.
#tuesdaytunes
I‘m sharing this merch that I ordered from Taylor Bradshaw, an independent folk musician from NYC. He just made some new necklaces. One is a wildflower necklace with real wildflowers and the other is a Birch Leaf necklace made with real leaves. He hasn‘t been signed to a record label yet. I‘ve been supporting him for a while after I saw him advertising his music on Facebook and I feel really good about it.
#tuesdaytunes
I saw this on Facebook yesterday in my newsfeed and wanted to share it for #tuesdaytunes. I didn‘t know that Nirvana and RuPaul took a picture together.

I normally listen to instrumental music when reading. I have created a few playlists for specific books. One where the MC was a musician & each chapter title was a song. And one series that features a fictional band that discuss a lot of music. But I have more playlists for writing than reading.
I always have music playing & listen to a bit of everything. But my faves are grunge, punk, 90s rock, & show tunes.
I have something else to share for #tuesdaytunes. I just saw this article about Linkin Park. It says that Sum 41 broke up last year. I didn‘t even know they were still making music.

Since I‘m talking about music today, I was wondering last night if Slipknot ever made any concert films because I‘ve listened to the live albums that they‘ve released and I found 2 concert films that they did a long time ago on Amazon Prime Video. Yay! I‘m looking forward to watching these. I‘ve listened to the live albums so I know how they sound live but watching them will be different.

I saw this template on my Instagram stories and decided to fill it out and it works for today since it‘s all about music. This was fun. My background I used is a Cross stitch image I did on my Cross Stitch app. The image definitely looks like it could be on a blanket or something.

I haven't posted my results for the Rolling Stones survey in a couple of weeks, but as this is the final one I thought I'd share. I scored 90%, not too shabby. My favorite songs from this list (in no order):
*Queen's “Bohemian Rhapsody“ (At position 84 this one should have def ranked higher. One of the greatest!)
*Joy Division's “Love Will Tear Us Apart“
*Leonard Cohen's “Hallelujah“
*Patti Smith's “Gloria“
*Billie Holiday's “Strange Fruit“

Got 90 out of 100 this week. Possibly even higher - there are a couple songs I'm guessing I've heard but just don't recognize the names.
I have no idea how to pick my three favorites this time around, so I'll just say three that I've listened to most recently:
1. Ever Fallen in Love - The Buzzcocks
2. Master of Puppets - Metallica
3. Paint it Black - The Rolling Stones

This week‘s list is “The 500 Greatest Songs of all Time” 400-301 - all that classic and yacht rock is paying off lol! I may be the only person born in the 70‘s who had The Zombies in my Spotify‘s top 5 of the year for 2023. I love music and had a pretend DJ set up as a kid, I lived in the country and had to make my own fun 🎵 ❤️

79 out of 100. A little lower than last round but still pretty good.
Three favorites from this list:
1. I Wanna Be Your Dog - The Stooges
2. Paranoid - Black Sabbath
3. Personality Crisis - New York Dolls

My local member supported radio station recently conducted a vote of the top 909 albums of all-time. Starting July 1st 1 song from each album will be played; however on July 5th the top 10 albums will be aired on vinyl. Top 3 albums of all time? A fool's errand that I was going to initially sit out; but the more I thought about it I was able to vote for 3 albums that had rewired my musical DNA, influenced future musicians & IMO are (CONT)
I cleaned my bedroom yesterday from 1-3 PM. I downloaded the iHeartRadio app to my TV and found this radio station that I haven‘t listened to in a long time. I wanted some music on while I was cleaning. I had to move things out of my room in order to clean. The worst part about cleaning my room is moving stuff. It was dusty. I still haven‘t finished putting my room back together but at least it‘s clean now.

My favorite radio station is my local radio station. It‘s 94.5 The Buzz in Houston. The song that I just listened to the last few minutes of on the website was Rx (Medicate) by Theory Of A Deadman. I like that song. I haven‘t listened to this station in a while but I know that I can ask Alexa to play the station on my Amazon Echo device. I asked her to play it before. She can play any radio station that you want.

A whooping 9/100. Yes, just nine!
I listen to music, but apparently not to the top 100 on the list.

I found 2 more music templates on Instagram where you choose your favorite songs by artists. I‘ve only heard a few songs by Oasis and Lana Del Rey but I‘ve liked them so these are my favorite songs by them.
#tuesdaytunes
I found these templates on Instagram for these artists and I chose my favorite songs by them. I struggled to choose songs I liked by BLACKPINK, Katy, Avril and Britney. I wanted to choose Thriller by Michael because I like that one but Instagram didn‘t have it. However, I liked the song I chose.
#tuesdaytunes
I saw this template on Instagram and thought it would be fun to share it here. This is my favorite Linkin Park song. It‘s the first song that ever got me into Linkin Park. I heard my brother listening to them when he was a teenager and I was a little girl. I started listening to them after that. When I found out Chester (the lead singer) died, I started crying. I don‘t even listen to the music anymore because of it.
#tuesdaytunes
1. She‘s Like The Wind - Patrick Swayze
2. You Give Love A Bad Name - Bon Jovi
3. Under Pressure - Queen
I was born in 1990 so I didn‘t hear any 80‘s songs until later on but the 80‘s had a lot of good songs. I couldn‘t decide what was my favorite but I like these songs.

A favorite of this year is Kasey Musgraves new album…Deeper Well.

One of my most favorite albums….some of the best of Mark Kozelek….before he got all weird and overly “wordy”.

For #tuesdaytunes, I‘m sharing this playlist I found on Spotify one day when I was at the dog park with my dog. When I go to the dog park in my neighborhood, I let my dog off the leash and let her run around in there. Then, I put my earbuds in and start walking the path while listening to music and she walks with me. I‘ve been listening to this playlist when I‘m at the dog park with my dog. I like a lot of the songs so far.
As I have a busy day tomorrow, I am creating my #tuesdaytunes post now. A lot of cover love right now, with Cash's version of The Beatles “In My Life“ being a perennial favorite. This is on American IV, the same album as the iconic version as “Hurt“ & I think it deserves as much attention; it is more understated but the emotions are there nonetheless & it is a fantastic cover. Secondly, is Meg Myers' cover “Running Up That Hill.“ (CONT)
In keeping with @TieDyeDude and #TuesdayTunes I am posting Kurt Vile….also a Philly based indie band. Kurt Vile formed The War on Drugs with Adam Granduciel. Vile‘s Walking on a Pretty Daze is my favorite Kurt Vile album.
Thanks for adding some Tunes, TDD!
One of my fave albums that I have discovered in the past few months is Stevens' “Illinoise“ & one of the tracks that jumped out even during the initial listen was “John Wayne Gacy Jr“ This popped up on a spotify play list earlier today. Other favorites: “We Gathered In Spring“ (Midlake) “Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye“ (Betty Swann) “The Dark End Of The Street“ (James Carr)

I forgot to post this one last week 😅
What's your go-to playlist to relax to?
My taste in music is as eclectic as my reading preferences. I do enjoy a bit of Fleet Foxes, James Blake or The XX to unwind to.

I usually always play at least a couple wistful, melancholy folk music albums on Sunday nights. The sort of music that would make a perfect soundtrack to the stories of Alice Munro or the poetry of Emily Dickinson. After just playing a favorite (Vashti Bunyan's Some Things Just Stick In Your Mind) I decided to go off on a different tangent & turn it up to 11 with a favorite: the most recent Low album. RIP Mimi Parker.
📕 Rascal, kind of a childhood favorite and the author was local.

My local members supporter radio station is playing all 70s music this weekend. They asked listeners to submit their 5 favorite songs of the decade. An impossible task, as I'd struggle with a list of the 5 best Bowie songs of the 70s. Nevertheless, above are the ones I submitted.
