Here's my tentative list of reads for October. 🤎🖤🤎
I read this book back when it first came out and it was a slog then. I wanted to revisit it by audiobook this time. This book was longer than it needed to be and was a bit all over the place. I think King wrote this shortly after his accident in 1999. He was most likely hopped up on pain meds and that‘s why it‘s a bit rambling.
Twenty-five years ago, four boys bravely stood together and saved a mentally challenged child from vicious bullies and it fundamentally changed them. Now they reunite every year for a hunting trip in the snowy Maine woods. This time, though, chaos erupts when a stranger suddenly stumbles into their camp. There is a horrifying struggle for survival with an otherworldly threat and the forces that oppose it.
Not to sound overdramatic, but this one almost did me in. Having read this before, I knew I was in for a rough ride, but the choppy, disjointed nature of the narrative coupled with the bleak outlook throughout made this a singularly unpleasant read. What works are the protagonists, who are likable, and the plot can be gripping. While it ultimately has plenty to enjoy, it can be a bit of a chore to find the wheat amongst the chaff. 3/5
I loved the start of this book, it started so strong.
The four main characters are all developed so well with their own personal qualities. Beaver has his "beaverisms" for example.
However, around the halfway mark it starts to fall apart and becomes confusing and repetitive. I believe 200 pages could have been easily shaved off.
It's a great concept, just poorly edited.
I'm 38 today so had to have a birthday selfie with my handsome boy, who also got his first haircut yesterday. 😀💙
Also updating with the book I'm currently reading, my 64th Stephen King read, Dreamcatcher.
🎧 📚 From horror to sci-fi … my kinda book!!! I saw the movie years ago and the book is fantastic. A sentimental extra star!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
There are things I really liked about Dreamcatcher and things I didn‘t care much for. I‘ve been a fan of Stephen King since I was in the ninth grade and read Misery. I felt emotionally sucked into the story line of four childhood friends remaining bonded into adulthood. #MountTBR

My #BeginsWith are all going to be books on my TBR, most of which I own, that I hope to read this coming year.
This King book I've put off for years and I'm not sure why exactly since I typically can't wait to read a King book on my shelves.
I finished It (loved it) and I'm not ready to leave Derry yet.
Which one should I start? The Dreamcatcher or Insomnia??
HELP! PLEASE! 😭😅😂
I always enjoy the bonds between young people that S.K. builds in his writing, the banter and sayings these characters come up with🤣 This one was a littleeeeeee..(or a lot) gory for me but overall a pick.

Sorry 😞 Mr King, but I didn‘t like this one. The story was ok and I liked the characters but the story was filled with so many irrelevant details that didn‘t give much to the story. Some parts that were suppose to be funny in my opinion, just diminish the importance of the story. Too long, it was like he couldn‘t/ didn‘t want/ didn‘t know how to finish the story. But I love the cover and he is Stephen king, so I will keep my copy😳2.5⭐️
#OppositeDay #Light
Some people prefer light reading, but not me! I love heavy books that tackle heavy topics. Although there is one problem... since I prefer books in the 1,000 page range, it doesn‘t do my back any favors trying to lug these tomes around with me! Ouch! 😣
Out of this pile, I‘m tagging the Stephen King book since his novels are usually the exact opposite of light, both in tone and in page count! 😳
Happy Wednesday #littens fam! It's freezing cold here today -31°C!!! So, I'm staying in to read! This weather is the perfect setting to read Dreamcatcher 😂
Tell me what are you reading today?

Happy New Year! Here are my Top 5 King books read in 2019! What has been your favorite this year? 🌠
My favorite read of 2019 was Dreamcatcher by Stephen King
This book contains some of my favorite characters and displays King's strength in creating realistic and relatable bonds between characters.
My issues with this book mostly lie in the characterization of Douglas Cavell and the language surrounding him. That made it hard to read at times.
#stephenking
1. Dreamcatcher by Stephen King (yes, still)
2. Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
3. The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
#weekendreads
Man I love Stephen King. He also wrote Misery, 11/22/63, The Running Man (under the pen name Richard Bachman), The Shining and it‘s sequel Doctor Sleep.
When your cat spills coffee on your book
1. Dreamcatcher by Stephen King
2. Zero! I'm behaving myself and trying to read my own books
3. Stop reading. You'll get back to it when you're really ready.

My mom gave me her copy of Dreamcatcher and told me how much she liked it. This is going to be my first time reading a Stephen King novel. Here we go!
Finished this tome! I thought I would never make it through because generally aliens are my biggest book turn off... but the characters are 👌
Happy Mother‘s Day to all of the amazing mothers out there! Here is the cross stitch I finished for my Mum! Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday 💖
#MarchIntoThe70s @Cinfhen @Lizpixie
I don't know why but when I listen to #BlueBayou I can't help but think of the movie adaptation of Dreamcatcher
Bookshelf Sunday! ✨📚
Hope everyone has been enjoying their weekends!
Thank you so much @TheLibrarian !!! I came home to this lovely stack of books today after a horrible day at work!! I‘m so excited to dig in! 💛🖤📚🖤💛

Today (or tomorrow hopefully) is the day!!! I decided to bring a Stephen King book I haven‘t read yet to labor and delivery with me today. I‘m already 60 pages in and loving it! #GetOutChild
Was I dreaming or did I see a book to move swap or book club? I swear I saw it but can‘t find it now!!! Help!!
Today‘s photo challenge prompt for #deweyjuly #readathon is even harder than yesterday...
But I suppose if I have to pick a #FavouriteAuthor it‘s going to have to be Stephen King. I‘ve been reading him since I was 11 years old and still haven‘t read them all, yet I can always count on him for a good read. The man is a legit storyteller. ❤️
1. I'm honestly not sure. HP isn't my fave anyway. I don't typically read series? Stand alones and trilogies are about it. His Dark Materials will be my vote.
2. Jessica Jones.. Supernatural. Anything in between. Food competitions. Travel food shows. I'm less picky with shows for whatever reason.
3. Hah! Nope.
4. Hopefully if we get the BBQ working..
5. Sort of. History & horror.
#friyayintro @jesshowbooks
Finally wrapped up this book, satisfying ending just soooooo long.
This book never ends, parts of it are incredible and other parts drag on and on.... it‘s too long, I still have 300 pages left
1. Jane Austen & Stephen King
2. Night in alone with a book (no contest)
3. Ooooof... hard to choose because I ❤️ historical fiction, but I will say WWI to WWII era.
4. @saresmoore @melbeautyandbooks @Soubhiville
Thanks for the tag @CrowCAH (ha! tagged you back) 😃
#TrivialThursday
On to the next one! I love the movie, so I hope the book is as good or better. I'm on a Stephen King kick lol
