Haven't been back on here in awhile, a lot of things had been changing at work and I'mtaking a next bigt step in my life.

Decided to go back to the beginning for SIKTC since it's been some time since I started the series, grabbed it out of sheer curiousity. It's one of the few graphic novel series that I've kept up with constantly.
I really wanna catch up and know more about the monster hunters and monsters.

Wow, what an epic novel! I enjoyed this story very much and loved the variation between storylines and perspectives. The characters grew and changed over time as the plot moved. Still not a fan of Roos from beginning to end of the book, but every character cannot be on a reader's favorites list.

I enjoyed this story about how Dr. Quinzel becomes the infamous Harley Quinn, the right hand of the Joker, and I've been looking into reading more works by Sejic.

Catching up on House of Hunger today. It's so tanzalizing and frightening. I want to know more about the bloodmaids, the houses, and the Countess; I'm sinking my teeth into this book.

Reading this for the bookclub with my co-workers. I'm reading this massive book faster than I expected. I really wanna try the audiobook too. I also found reading it aloud is a lot of fun #fantasy

The book is intriguing. Henderson's craft with horror is so engrossing. It feels like I'm drinking fine wine as I read the book.

Read this for my book club with my co-workers. I enjoyed this novel, especially the footnotes, which are written as facts and personal accounts.

While learning about the fears, joys, struggles, and blind loyalties of the characters, we also learn the prejudices, ignorance, and neglect English nobles and academics uphold in the story.

Readers who love dark academia woven with magic and mystery will find this satisfying from beginning to end.

When I picked this up, my first thought was "this seems like a lighter vampire romance manga to read. I'll give it a try."
I was dead wrong!?

It's drama that feels relatable--and drama that is in the category of 'omg!this MC is going through A LOT--funny, and I can see a romantic relationship building between the main characters. Interesting element in the story is that the MC is a half-vampire; turns into a bat by day and human by night #manga

I ate this story up...and then yelled in frustration at the end wanting to know the rest of the story. Great for readers who like a 70s mystery and the occult. I love the pace and flow of the narration and umpredictable actions of the characters #postYA #graphicnovel

So far, it's not great, and I'm finding the author is not considering most of the other ideas of vampires that have been printed over the years.

Kat and Taylor relationship remind me of Claire and Bender from The Breakfast Club.

Junji Ito's works still draw me in. The story never flattens or faulters. Leaves me haunted and questioning what we truly find terrifying of the unknown. #manga

I enjoyed a lot of the lore behind the emperors and other historical figures. I liked how Zachary changed throughout the story, and still showed his flaws. Lastly, I admire the weight and problems that build in regards to blindly trusting gods or divine entities, even when you're connected or chosen by that entity.

Things have escalated in this volume! It was upsetting to see Caiman leave Nikaido in search of more answers to the strange man in his mouth. But we get to see into the Magician Dimension.

Great volume! I never know what to expect in this series. Shin's backstory is provided along with how he and Noi met, which explains a lot about them as individuals and sorcerer partners. I love Shin and Noi and Caiman and Nikaido! Ebisu and Fujita care for each other through actions rather than words. It's hard to pick which pair is my favorite. I did not expect this series to have more volumes, and the story has become quite serious. The first volume is an intro into the types of secrets collected and the Inn everyone goes to. All the characters shift to complex as their past resurfaces. The Innkeeper ties everyone to his web of secrets without his past and secrets being discovered. So many questions still, but a great series for horror fans seeking a complex horror story #horror #manga

Sasaki's past life as a writer is the main focus in this volume. Sasaki and Ryo have a strong connection to the Inn Keeper. As I keep reading, the past reveals more of the complexity of the life and death #manga

Another amazing volume! The story is revealing more of the Inn Keeper's past. As Kyouko encounters more of Inn's hosts, the question of if Spider's past will bubble up to the surface and unravel all his efforts in watching over Kyouko #manga

A high stakes game of gambling unrolls within this story, and Sasaki's (character without a body) classmates are looped in the game.

I think this volume is okay, but I wasn't in love with it--it seemed to lack on the horror aspect for me. The artwork and facial expressions felt off at certain points.

I enjoyed this story a lot. It was weird that the plot shifted from drama to straight up horror. I did appreciate the focus on metal music. After reading Something is Killing the Children, I had to return back to Wynd. This second volumes goes deeper into the magic Wynd carries in his blood, and the Vampyres are ordered track down Wynd and others. James Tynion IV's craft for storytelling and usage of fantasy is mind-blowing. I'm looking forward to reading the next issues for this series #graphicnovels #fantasy #lgbtq
