Stop me if you've heard this one.
New horror premise: badly tipped waitress serial killer. 😑🔪

Man, it would never have occurred to me as a kid (or honestly, as an adult) to even try to do the things Amar Shah walked into already confident. I have a lot of respect for anyone who can pull that off. His childhood experiences interacting with the amazing basketball players of the 90s is nostalgic and fun for me!

I feel it's a great introduction to the philosophy of Thoreau. The introduction and the panel discussions offer even more context. I liked the simplicity of the illustrations. It definitely makes me want to read more.

I just received this graphic biography of the Mitford sisters as a belated birthday gift from my family … and it‘s AMAZING.

To absolutely no one's surprise, I loved it! As always this series earns my admiration with the balance of fantastical and down-to-earth, drama and healthy communication, ancient Greek myth and modern urban fantasy, the complex adaptation of mythical figures into people with flaws and traumas, the spectacular art and the healthy dose of humour and warm fuzzies.

EeeeeeeeEeeeeeeeeeeeEeeeeeeee!!!!🥰
Ahem, pardon the squee. ☺️

Another fantastic graphic memoir. This one I read online, though I much prefer to read these in print, as the art pops off the page. Sweeney chronicles her experiences living with a rare disease called Bruck syndrome which causes chronic pain and requires use of a wheelchair. She remembers hospital stays in her childhood and shows the way she feels seeking treatment which is hard to come by due to the rarity of the disease.

Maus pt. 2 is about Vladek‘s time in the concentration camps and what he did to survive until he was freed. It also offers a bigger look at how the Holocaust affected the rest of Vladek‘s life and how the author has struggled to come to terms learning about his parents‘ experiences and how that has directly affected his life.
