Happy Solstice! Blessed Yule! This day reminds me to take a deep breath, enjoy the light and feel some hope in the chaos around me. I love slipping away from the commercial world to have moments of focus back on nature. I will have wassail and a fire tonight , my family tradition for 9 years- and Brynne is home to make the wassail!!! 🕯️🤍🕯️I hope all of you experience some calm too💙(tagging some who celebrate but wishing for everyone)
Thank you Amy!! your friendship means so much! I love this and the thoughtfulness of you book choice. Sending love to you- and hoping i can get some cards and packages completed with a little delay but a lot of love to send.
Todays #midwintersolace #Fridaynightshare is a book about or including Solstice/Equinox fiction or non fiction- I‘m always excited to see fiction books people find with solstice! So i‘m looking forward to seeing shared posts 🕯️
The latest Cleopatra Fox mystery- A young woman gets on the train but does not get off- and no one believes Cleopatra that foul play is likely. This one reminded me most of some classic mysteries and i appreciated the storyline, mystery and coninued snail pace barely there romance.(sigh)
Cleopatra Fox continues to solve mysteries, its 1900 and she should be looking for a husband- but instead has the slowest of slow burn romances with a fellow detective. Her family and friends (the hotel staff) continue to play a big part in these books.
My Sister of the heart recommended this and I really enjoyed it! Jess is starting over with son in college, recent divorce and needs a job and place to live. She finds this with a spirited house, gargoyle, vampire, alicorn and were creatures…. the banter is funny, middle age accurate and I loved it!
Deb i‘m a little late- but here are my 5 joys for the week:
1.My daughter is driving back to live on the East Coadt again- left LA Friday.
2. I‘ve been reading a range of books I am enjoying.
3. Coffee always brings me joy.
4. A lot of old friends have reached out to reconnect.
5. My cats 🐈⬛ 🐈 bring me so much joy (and my dog too!)
Happy #hyggehourreadathon day! My day will be spent cleaning and trying to prepare for Yule next Saturday. I am spending as much time as i can focus listening to audiobooks until tonight when i will curl up in my chair with my physical books. Can‘t wait to see everyone‘s posts ❄️🩵❄️

So i have not yet read her books- but she is opening a Romance bookstore around the block from my office! And lives in Martinsburg!? How did i not know any of this? Any recommendations of what i should read first?
On my IG feed. I completely agree! Sharing some seasonal sentiments.
Finished this one Sunday with my mom- and I liked this one better. Cleo still annoys me with some of the inconsistencies the author uses for voice- very independent but sometimes very stilted. But the author uses others perspectives to help her grow. The mystery was good- and not quite who i thought it would be. I like that the family owns and lives in a hotel and how the staff interact.
Finished this during the Summer- I listen via TuneIn (they have audio books too!) When my mom and I are driving. These are not my favorite historic cozy mysteries- but enjoyable enough. The mfc lives in her uncles hotel in England, has a will they won‘t they with a detective she frequently partners with and help from cousins and the Hotel Staff.
I could not find these in the Litsy data base- just more fun in a magical town with cozy mysteries, two short stories one full length. They are all on kindle unlimited if anyone is interested in trying them out.
Grimoires and Gingerbread was not listed- it‘s a silly romp with Elves and Santa‘s secret of how he stays young has gone missing. It is a 1.5 before Mermaids and Meringue. Mermaids is book 2 the main character is trying to rescue a human turned into a mermaid, her family and friends help, and the cozy mystery is completely cozy. I am enjoying the series.
Trying to catch up on reviews- this was a #cbbc book- and I loved! It really was a fun adventure with a magical community, a witch who communicates with animals, a fun family, friends and bakery, cute sort of enemies to lovers ish but i like that the couple pair off from the beginning. I liked the mystery too.

@AllDebooks shared this thought and invited everyone for a check in (here or on her page)
Here it is cold. I exhausted because Obi cat woke me at 1am with a mouse he was playing with before eating. What kind of mouse goes in a home with 5 cats??? It was his growling at the other cats to stay away that woke me. I need a nap….
I actually liked this book. The story is written for middle grade- but as the characters in the story age i do wish the voice of the story aged also - so that is my main critique. In this one there are serious injuries that require healing. I think i would have liked more of the other characters in the story too- but i did enjoy the direction this book took.
I really am enjoying all the different character groups, elves, trolls, goblins, dwarves. I enjoy the world building and alliances. I love the characters that have some complex struggles with EVERYTHING! The series continues and I‘m really glad even though it is sort of formulaic.
The adventures continue with Sophie. The books lean formulaic in that there is a huge problem that needs to be solved, there are ALWAYS more questions than answers and there will be a cliffhanger. I am definitely choosing a favorite character but enjoy most of them quite a bit.
It‘s the first day of our 3rd annual #midwintersolace
Our buddy read for December is Calm Christmas and a Happy New Year. Let @AllDebooks know if you want to be tagged in the activities to help us when Winter Blues can be a struggle. Or any other reason you might enjoy this activity 🤍
Happy #hyggehourreadathon day to all those who celebrate 🧡 Here‘s to an hour or two of cozy reading in community. #naturalitsy
Happy #hyggehourreadathonday I am going to work to recoup some calm and energy by spending most of today drinking tea and reading - maybe in chair, maybe in bed, maybe in bath, most likely all three. I am working through another significant life crisis- and will most likely have both a high cost and ultimately some good will come out of it. Reading reminds me that battles are fought, love matters and i can escape to a happy ending. #naturalitsy
I think i will continue re reading The Empyrean and Hunger Games for the foreseeable future because bad ass women who fight insurmountable odds is my mood. Feel free to recommend books in that genre. Please….
It‘s #saturdaychatterday feel like a virtual coffee chit chat meet up? Here or on @AllDebooks page? or both?
My day is BUSY! I‘m working on having reasonable expectations and not getting/feeling overwhelmed.
Thank you for this Super Fun #hhs package @JessieKB - I love the socks and headband- too cute- and i think my clients will enjoy seeing me wear the head band! Yummy chocolate and great books 🧡🖤🧡
This was a wild ride! I love character driven stories with solid world building- and my emotions were drawn in- this had some serious sections including violence and complex character development- i continue to be impressed with the series and am so glad im finally reading it!
Book 2 continues with Sophie learning more about the Elves, secret societies, developing found family and figuring out who she is. This MG fantasy continues to be a great read ❤️ I highly recommend for people who enjoy fantasy and are ok with teens as main characters.
Happy #hyggehourreadathon day! I‘m loving this series and read for an hour already but forgot to take a pic of my delicious tea (a smoky blend that is heavenly to me ) but i will be reading again tonight- or possibly an audio book and crochet… can‘t wait to see how you are all doing 🧡
Ashley this was overflowing with generosity!!! Thank you so so much! I love the books you chose- and the Samhain in a box was very well done!! The bag is great! I love it! You are the best 🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡I am so glad we are friends !
Wishing you a very happy birthday Amy! Your package should be sent this week- expanding your birthday celebration season! 😘 I hope all your birthday wishes come true!
I have very mixed feelings about this book. I did finish it but parts were just annoying. Parts felt tired. There were a couple characters i was curious about, and a few directions of the story i was also curious about. It‘s a very ppopular fantasy romantasy on goodreads- just not one i love. #hyggehourreadathon
How is it Sunday? Here is where I wish I was 🧡🧡🧡Living today king forward to some cozy reading time tonight after my household chores are done…. Looking forward to our collective space 🍂🍁🧡
