Sherlock enjoyed last night‘s Hygge hour as much as I did. 🐶💙 I finished 2 books and started the third while cuddling under some blankets, tea in hand and enjoying great company.

Yesterday, I received an envelope of lovely wintery ephemera from @Chrissyreadit for my 2nd win in getting the most stacks (I think I tied) in our #FridayNightShare book recommendations. They have a pearly finish that‘s hard to capture well in a photo but they‘re beautiful & I look forward to journaling with them. Thank you!

I‘m a bit under-the-weather this weekend🤧so mostly napping & I may do an early #HyggeHour

#Midwintersolace has definitely been helping me get through the shorter days. I‘ve adored our #fridaynightshares, I even indulged & bought a few new books. And our #hyggehourreadathons & #naturalitsycardswap have made me so happy! Hygge at my house has included rituals for solstice & Hanukkah, endless cups of tea, coffee, & cocoa, snuggles with the fur-balls, reading in my blanket nests, house cleaning, & enjoying lots of time by candlelight.

I‘ve read a few books on hygge & similar philosophies from other countries before, mostly how to/self help type books geared towards Americans with a few useful moments but overall fairly meh. This was much more up my alley. The entire book was about the philosophy of hygge & how it manifests in Danish culture. Think the intro of one of those other books extended. I found reading it to be a very hyggelig experience. This is one I‘d like to own.

I'm planning a relaxing day with my daughters, decorating for Christmas. Then we'll make dinner together, all set for a Christmas movie night. 🎬 ❄️❤️🎄🫕

First book finished this 2018! Well it took long enough! I dragged through it from 2017, but it wasn‘t a pan. In fact, I found it pretty interesting albeit repetitive. It reminded me at times of Snoop and The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up in its premise that the objects we keep and how we arrange them say so much about us. I‘d probably buy it if I didn‘t think it‘s main goal was establishing Denmark as a type of utopia!! 😂
