The language of stories. I am reading Witness along side our class reading of Night.

TheBookHippie I have all his books. They‘re just so so powerful. Especially now. 2d
BooksandCoffee4Me Have your students read Refugee, the three stories of refugees from different time periods and places - Germany, Cuba, Syria - whose storer connect at the end? My ninth-graders got into tracking the journeys and doing a variety of art pieces related to the characters. Discussions in small groups were fairly natural and not coerced, always a plus. 2d

#CoverStories

The books on my Kindle “shelves” with a #KeyHole on the cover. I‘ve only read the tagged book so far although I‘ll be reading The Briar Club next month for #AuthorAMonth & @JacqMac ‘s #AuldLangSpine list. The other 2 are in my #TBR

Eggs I enjoyed The Briar Club and Turn of the Key! 2w

I‘m excited for the tagged! I‘ve heard it‘s similar to Addie LaRue and I loved that one 💫

Checking in to report on my current read and my upcoming reading plans. I'm really enjoying James so far (about halfway through). I decided to reinstate an old project of mine that has been abandoned for a while - Operation Tidy-Up-My-Bookcase. My plan is going to be to try and weed out some books and gift them to little free libraries. Pictured here is my #tbr pile - some new but mostly old books to revisit as part of the operation!

Pickpick

This book has sat patiently on my #tbr shelves, gifted to me in an Aussie book swap years ago. The cover is so beautiful, just like this beach (background) I was at yesterday.
The cover belies the contents of this dark read. I found it confusing yet engrossing. Multiple narrators over multiple timelines. Disturbing.

sarahbarnes This is still a book I think about. So good. 4w
Tamra I really enjoyed it! 4w
merelybookish Probably one of my favourite novels from the last decade! 4w
BarbaraBB I haven‘t forgotten about this one either. So good. 4w
