Crypt of the Moon Spider is a dark and dreamy tale of horror, corruption, and identity spun into the stickiest of webs. Years ago, in a cave beneath the dense forests and streams on the surface of the moon, a gargantuan spider once lived. Its silk granted its first worshippers immense faculties of power and awe. Its now 1923 and Veronica Brinkley is touching down on the moon for her intake at the Barrowfield Home for Treatment of the Melancholy. A renowned facility, Dr. Barrington Culls invasive and highly successful treatments have been lauded by many. And theyre so simple! All it takes is a little spider silk in the amygdala, maybe a strand or two in the prefrontal cortex, and perhaps an inch in the hippocampus for near evisceration of those troublesome thoughts and ideas. But patients arent the only ones with trouble on their minds, and although the spiders been dead for years, its denizens are not. Someone or something is up to no good, and Veronica just might be the cause. At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

This was such a beautifully written story that I sometimes forgot how brutal and horrific it actually was. Then mouths would be stitched shut and heads cleaved and it was brought immediately back to me 😂. This is sort of a dark horror fantasy and I was here for it! There‘s a sequel coming out next month I believe and I, for one, am excited to read it! 🌟🌟🌟🌟💫

(2024) It's 1924, and Veronica is being taken to an asylum on the moon, to be treated for "black spells" and neglecting her "wifely duties." And from there things turn weird. Let's just say that if you feel the title promises literal moon-spiders you will not be disappointed. It's "The Yellow Wallpaper" by way of Strange Tales: unsettling, disorienting, more than a little gross and also very good reading.

From chapter 1, this book disturbed me. These people have space travel and have colonized the moon, yet still treat the women like crap. This book had a lot of big ideas that fascinated me. I wanted the story to keep on going, so I could learn more of Veronica's metamorphosis. I liked the exploration of memories and how easily they can be changed.
